I have a 2004 Toyota Solara that I inherited, and the soft top clearly hadn't been replaced before. They communicated well throughout the process, and I'd recommend coming in ahead of time so they can assess exactly what you'll need. In my case, they let me know I needed a rain gutter along with the replacement. They were also willing to install the top I provided (with the understanding that it wouldn't come with a warranty), which I appreciated. On top of that, they stayed after hours so I could pick up my car, which meant a lot. I know how much that can impact someone's day. The reason for 4 stars is that part of the interior lining came loose a few days after the installation. I got it done April 10th. I was able to fix one section, but not the rear. I do understand that since the top was provided and had been sitting uninstalled, some issues may come up. I've reached out and am waiting to hear back, and I'll update this review based on how that experience goes. Update (April 13th): I wanted to update my review--I'm really happy with how this was handled. I was able to come in the same day, and they fixed the interior lining perfectly. I forgot to add that day of they discovered I needed a new passenger side tension cable and they got it done on time ontop of the original service. They explained that the top I provided had excess fabric on the backing, which is what prevented the rear section from attaching properly. They also took a look at the middle section and let me know that if it comes loose again, they can secure it further with screws to prevent future issues. I really appreciate that they worked with the parts I brought and still made everything come together correctly. That kind of flexibility goes a long way. I also asked about getting some work done on my leather seats out of curiosity, and they gave me a solid quote along with options; either sourcing parts myself or going through them. Overall, I'll definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you again!

It was no longer sealed tightly around the back window, so whenever it rained, I had to put a car cover over the car and hope moisture didn't get into the backseat. Needless to say, it was not ideal! I reached out to Matt at Seatco about getting a replacement top, and he sent me a quote right away. The price was very reasonable, and he told me the new top would be basically identical to the original manufacturer top. Matt ordered it quickly, and once it came in, I brought my car in for the installation. They finished the job incredibly fast--it only took two days! When I came back to pick up my car, my jaw dropped. It looked beautiful! The new top was a perfect match, and best of all, it keeps the rain out and has made my car functional again. Because they did such a great job with the top, I also had them replace two panels of worn-out leather in my backseat. The black leather they used was a near-perfect match, and it looks awesome! I really can't say enough great things about Seatco. They're friendly, professional, fast, and do excellent upholstery work. Highly recommend them!

I took it to my local mechanic and they cleaned the cowel under the windshield and snaked the sunroof. While it slowed the leak, it'd still leak after a rainstorm, even with mild rains. Someone told me about Seatco and I took it there for an estimate and left it for couple of days. They took out some other areas which cleared the leaks! We had a major storm couple of days ago and NO leaks! So if you have any water leaks or issues inside your car I would definitely recommend Seatco!

Over the summer, we did not protect the dashboard of our 2016 Chrysler 300. The before picture…read moreshows what happens when you don't account for the Virginia heat and sun. A quick trip to the dealership (hoping that the extended warranty would cover the repair) proved disappointing. Not only would the extended warranty not cover it, but the "only" way they could fix it was to replace the entire dashboard at just shy of $4,000. Hunting for less expensive alternatives led us to Charles at Auto & Marine Upholstery. He asked us to bring the car to him so he could examine the damage and give us an estimate. Once he saw the damage, he confidently said that he could fix it without having to replace the entire dashboard - providing we were okay with having the windshield removed so that he could properly access the dashboard. Removing and replacing the windshield did add to the cost of the repair, but the total he quoted us was still less than 20% of what the dealership wanted to charge us! We agreed on a repair date for the following week and arranged to drop off the car the night before. By the next afternoon, he had everything finished. The 'after picture' shows the beautiful repair Charles accomplished without replacing the entire dashboard or even the material. Amazing workmanship! You can't even tell there was any damage there. Plus, he saved us hundreds of dollars and we got the car back quickly since he completed the work in only 1/2 a day. Everything about our experience with Charles and Auto & Marine Upholstery was fantastic. Charles is professional and courteous and always responded to our calls and texts right away. We will definitely contact him again if we have other upholstery needs and highly recommend him. Thank you, Charles!!

He is without a doubt the best go-to in the DMV area for tint/PPF/ceramic work. I began shopping around for a place to get tint done, in anticipation of my September 2018 Tesla Model 3 delivery. I had also been looking into getting a paint-protection-film and/or ceramic coating. In the Tesla forums and in search results, one 5-star name kept coming up for the DMV area...ProShield Inc. And not I know why...David's service is incredible. He is meticulous with the details, uses top-of-the-line products...and yet, is somehow the most competitive pricing in DC/Maryland/Virginia. I ultimately decided to do a 40% Ceramic SunTek Tint, Full Front End SunTek PPF, and Full Body Brila Ceramic Coating with ProShield Inc. When walking into his warehouse to get everything done, it was like visiting a car show! Everything from a Honda Civic Type R, to a Shelby Mustang, to a Roll Royce, to a Ferrari...all getting PPF/Ceramic Coating work done. David kept my car for a few days to get everything work done and the results were magic. I even took the car BACK to him, after a recent fender bender to get things topped up. Can't recommend him more highly. He's got my business for new car prep work from here on out.

David is the nicest person you'll meet, but he's an incompetent PPF installer and an unscrupulous…read morebusiness owner who's not only a recently recovering alcoholic but is also legally blind in one eye, rendering his depth perception nonexistent. I brought my brand new 2024 Audi Q5 to him at his Sterling, VA location for PPF installation in December 2023 based on a friend's recommendation who had a positive experience with him seven years ago. I explained what I wanted done in terms of protecting the front bumper, complete hood, wheel wells, and side mirrors and paid him $1,600.00 for the installation. The first odd thing I noticed was that he was working alone without a staff unlike in his advertising photos then, when I went to pay him, he said his credit card machine wasn't working and insisted I instead pay his wife through Venmo. He said he would email me the warranty certificate the same day, and each time I asked him about it, he claimed to have forgotten and ultimately never did send it. During the initial PPF installation, I noticed that he was using a razor blade directly on the car body panels instead of pre-cutting the PPF and then installing it. He said it was normal and wouldn't damage the paint. Then, about halfway through that installation, he ran out of PPF film and asked me to come back the next week when he expected a delivery, which I did. The second time I brought my vehicle to him and picked it up, I immediately noticed that he'd left uneven seams on the bumper and wheel wells that didn't align with the body panel lines. I pointed this out to him, and his response was to say that I hadn't told him that I didn't want visible seams, which wasn't true, but he promised to fix them on his next trip back to Virginia in about a month since he had a flight to catch that afternoon back to his home in Florida. Within a couple of days, I noticed that there were a number of bubbles, artifacts, and debris under the PPF, along with many of the edges beginning to peel and curl. I called him about it, and he promised to fix it in about a month when he returned from Florida. The third time I brought my vehicle to him, he still hadn't fixed the bubbles or debris, some of the edges were uneven, some edges were again peeling, and I pointed out that he'd cut into the black chrome grille and one of my mirrors. He apologized and used a heat gun to seal the edges and said he'd have a friend who worked for Audi repair the damage on his next trip to Virginia. After several months of promises that he never followed through on, I told him I wanted to remove the PPF and get a refund because it was peeling so badly and to repair the damage. He said he wouldn't refund the whole amount since the PPF he'd used was expensive, but that he'd refund part of it and make good on the damage. Over the next several months, he became increasingly hard to get in touch with, claiming to be undergoing medical treatment for alcoholism-induced diabetes, claimed to have had surgery on his eyes because he'd begun losing his eyesight in one eye, asked for more time thanking me for being so patient, but ultimately stopped communicating even though I could see that he was still active on his Facebook page. After six months of false promises, I decided to pay another company to remove and replace the PPF, at which time we found he'd cut so deeply into the paint in seven places that they required painting, and they explained that the reason there were bubbles and debris and the edges had peeled was because he hadn't properly cleaned and prepared the paint surface for installation. I had a quote done by my Audi body shop that totaled more than $4,500.00 worth of damage, and I sent that to David for payment, but he never responded, leaving me to settle it with my insurance company, paying my $500.00 deductible out of pocket. In all, in addition to losing the $1,600.00, I paid him for the installation, I paid an additional $3,100.00 to have his poor-quality work redone, plus $500.00 for my insurance deductible, and $2,100.00 for a month-long rental while my car was at the body shop, all out of pocket to repair a brand new $55,000.00 car.

I chose their Sterling location since it was a little cheaper than mobile service, and my apartment's underground garage would have made that difficult. The whole process was quick and easy.
