Mike and his crew's work is simply awesome and shows some true artistry. New Leaf built a rock retaining wall and a flagstone patio along with some drainage and decorative gravel in out small backyard. The rock retaining wall in particular is quite beautiful as it slopes and curves around the patio. Mike was also very responsive and kept us updated on the whole process. Overall, we're very happy with the results and transformation! I'm sure we'll hire New Leaf again whenever the next landscaping project come around. read more

I was walking my dog, and noticed new leaf landscaping was working on my neighbors yard. This was Aug 3 and inquired if Mike and his crew do tear out my lawn and cap my sprinkler heads on the lawn. Mike told me that they were "super" busy, but would come by and give me a quote. Within an half hour I had an extremely reasonable quote, and said he could start the job tomorrow. I was dumbfounded, I told him yes and they started on Friday and finished on Monday. Dealing with any contractors are generally a massive pain, but with Mike I felt I had know him for 20 years. I knew of Mike from a previous large landscaping project he had done that was very impressive, so I asked him to help us with our home project. We wanted to remove our front yard lawn and replace it with drought tolerant plants as well as putting in a couple of small trees between the sidewalk and the street. We discussed what we wanted and he gave us a competitive quote. As in-he was several thousand less than the high bid and several above the low bid, except the low bid clearly was not nearly as knowledgeable, creative or professional. His crew showed up with Mike and they were able to complete our job in just 2 days over a weekend. They were very efficient, polite, and knew what they were doing. They put in a bunch of really nice plants that we collaborated on with him but that he ultimately picked out as well as 2 new tress. Those all have yet to grow in. What he also did was a beautiful new flagstone walkway between our driveway and front steps that ran parallel to the house, with a matching set in front of our house between the sidewalk and the street. Here is the kicker: We had a really complex watering system for our front and back yards running on two separate timers that was there when we moved in 10 years ago. Because of that one, of the lines on the watering system in front blew out the day after they left and was spraying water onto the sidewalk. His guys came back and fixed it immediately. Mike pointed out that the watering system was overkill now as he had simplified it by like 70%. He offered to come back and reprogram our two watering controllers down to one. So we took him up on that. He charged us basically an extra hour's work, but he ended up spending practically the entire day rerouting everything. Plus he and his foreman went around and checked and fixed every single plant irrigation dripper in our front and back yards- since we have fruit trees, flowers and veggies in that back so we probably have over 50! In addition we had some extra flagstone left from the front job that they had left on the driveway worth several hundred dollars. So we decided we would use them in the back, but the 4 or 5 slabs were way too big for us to manage. They were 3x4 feet and weighed close to 200 Lbs. each. No problem- he put those in back for as well. So in our opinion Mike went the extra mile and a half- we sure got our money's worth! We would definitely recommend Mike/New Leaf for any landscaping project. Great job Mike -thank you! read more

I noticed that he didn't measure anything or take notes like the other landscapers that had come out to give us estimates and I thought that was rather odd. But he was very friendly, so we overlooked that. He never got back to us with an estimate, so after about 10 days I messaged him to ask what the estimate was and he said he suddenly had two big projects that were going to take him into next year. Yeah, right! Not a very good liar! I appreciate honesty in people I do business with. He should've been upfront with us if he didn't want to do our job instead of stringing us along.
