I was first introduced to Gramajo Roofing this past spring through a carpenter who I worked with to…read moreget some wood repairs done to our 2-story 2150 sqft house on the border of the city of Sonoma. I had had interactions with a couple of local roofers over the past 3-4 years for getting a tune-up and for a leak repair. Overall I wasn't satisfied with the experiences I'd had with the other roofers, so I decided to evaluate other options. Once I met up with Isaias Gramajo, the founder and owner of the company, I knew that I had found the right person to work with to replace and upgrade our old roof. The job just finished after a crew of 6 worked tirelessly for 6 long days, and everything went extremely well. It's rare to see a crew operate with this level of synchronicity, like a perfectly well-oiled machine - it was surreal to watch. The roof was quite complex, with a total of 8 interwoven faces and a total roof area of around 2500 sqft. After some research and doing experiments with samples, we had decided to go with high-profile "designer" shingles that are a step up even from standard high-quality architecture asphalt shingles. They are a bit thicker and harder to work with, but they have better durability and we really liked the looks, and Gramajo was happy to support our choice. Also I had decided to add more insulation everywhere, as we have high vaulted ceilings in the large living room and master suite with a correspondingly high utility bill. The 4" extra roof thickness necessitated for all gutters to be moved up, one of which they replaced entirely as they found patched-up saw blade damages from the original install. The team also found a large amount of rotted plywood and even some rot in the trusses, due to venting issues and leaks in the old roof, and fixed all of it up before adding the new layers. Isaias is an excellent communicator who listens and remembers well, is open to any and all suggestions and constructively providing his own perspective and experience, and went the extra mile to accommodate all of my concerns and wishes. The responsiveness was also outstanding. The crew was on time day after day, they were all super nice guys with great personalities, worked through heat up to 95F, cleaned up after themselves, and everything turned out amazing. Rony Carranza and the crew spent 2 days trimming 26 trees and removing the liquid amber. Mario is the ultimate climber/rigger, safely wielding the chain saw 50 feet up, taking down the giant liquid amber one limb at a time. Also removing the deadwood in the other 40-year old trees. But in my experience, that is not always reliable, and it pushes extra work on a potential customer. They might or might not be great with their work, but if I can't talk to them without exposing my number to marketing, I will take my business to someone who has greater respect for my privacy and time.

We hired Thomas Landscaping to pour concrete in November 2023, and it's been one long chain of excuses and frustration ever since. By December, we noticed the concrete color was completely wrong. When we contacted them, we were told it was "still curing." That same excuse continued for months -- even nine months later! Despite countless emails, texts, and photos, nothing was done. After consulting several independent contractors, we learned the issue was likely caused by moisture during the winter pour -- and that it would never correct itself. When their own concrete rep finally admitted the same, they still didn't take responsibility. Their insurance refused to cover the work because of missing paperwork and uninsured subcontractors. In the end, we paid $47,000 to have the entire job redone ourselves. Their "settlement" offer? $5,000. This experience has been exhausting, expensive, and incredibly disappointing. Please save yourself the stress and money -- avoid Thomas Landscaping at all costs.
