We contracted him and his team for a backyard renovation during the pandemic. We drew up a plan that worked for him (our plan was pretty straightforward and simple using Microsoft Excel!; not hiring a landscape architect saved us lots of dollars!). They leveled a sloped yard, installed a lawn area (since we live in the land of drought, it's now fake grass), added pavers and rock perimeter, and built garden boxes. Nick discussed stone choices and colors with us, and was really communicative throughout the project. He and his team (including his charming father) brought our vision to reality. Great insights and guidance to what's possible. Now the details When we rebuilt our house, after losing it in a wildfire, we were not looking forward to more rebuilding. Our backyard was a mud pit and needless to say required a lot of work. When we first began looking for landscape contractors, we obtained six estimates before deciding to work with Chris. Chris came out and took his time walking our yard and talked with us in great detail about the drainage system we needed, given that our lot is a good 2 feet higher than the two lots behind us. We found him to be much more knowledgeable and thorough then any of the other contractors we talked to. He also really understood our vision of what we wanted and offered great guidance from his expertise. He communicated wonderfully throughout each job he has done for us. We have hired him 3 times for drainage, irrigation, paving stones, lattice extension on fence, building pergola and building deck for hot tub, built outdoor shower, and put in trees. I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, but just know he can do it all. We also use his company for regular yard maintenance and have had a wonderful experience with Richard his lawn maintenance guy. The lady was very pleasant and gave me an appointment for an estimate the next morning. I met with Tony D - the owner. He arrived on time, was straightforward, and gave me reasonable quote. I hired him and he said he could be back on Monday to do the work. They gave me a courtesy call to let me know when they will be coming onto the property. (It gave me a peace of mind since I work during the day and couldn't be there). I was a tiny bit disappointed when I noticed that one of my yard bins was full. I thought he said he would haul away the debris? (Oh well... not a big deal). Bottom line, he did a fairly good job. Yay! No more ugly dead bamboo!

We sought out their help in finding privacy trees for our deck. They came back with options and an estimate. We agreed on their recommendation... and then everything fell apart. They called the day before install to say sorry we cannot find the trees you wanted (the trees that they recommended and provided a signed estimate for). Then they showed us a variety of too small trees and trees that were incompatible with the sun/shade composition of the area. Finally we found ones that they assured us would accomplish our original goals for privacy. Two weeks late they arrive with 3 foot tall trees that were brown and clearly insufficient for providing privacy. They assured us that these would grow fast and once planted would look better... and now here we are 4 months later with 5 dead 3 foot tall trees that we need to pay a new landscaper to dig up andreplace. What a nightmare... and truly a disappointment. Hopefully this is helpful to the next unsuspecting homeowner.

Now it doesn't close properly. The biggest problem is the trees are growing back. I have reached out to them numerous times and they are ignoring me. I rarely leave a review for small business's because I know how hard it is to run a small business since I have worked for one for most of my many years on this planet. We work too hard for our money to pay and now have to pay someone else to fix the problem they refuse to help us with.

Until a few weeks back, all was great. Then suddenly they crew stopped coming. first we just thought maybe some were sick and couldn't make it. After a few weeks and no communications, we called the crew manager as well as the Atlas office and we received no call back or information. we finally heard they disbanded the maintenance crews and fired all of the staff. they NEVER told us, the customer. they NEVER offered us a refund for the services paid for and not provided. what kind of company does this??? PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE HIRING ATLAS THAT SOMETHING HAS CHANGED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

He was communicative before the job and gave us helpful feedback about our material choices. On the day of the job, he and his crew showed up on time and immediately got to work.
