I believe the restaurant is under new ownership as their menu and dishes have changed. Their food is now authentic Cantonese cuisine. If you were a fan of Chopstix Gourmet in Rosedale, you will most likely enjoy this restaurant. Ever since Chopstix Gourmet had closed, there hasn't been a dim sum restaurant in the Baltimore area for the past few years until this place had new ownership. This isn't the traditional dim sum place where they roll the carts out to you. It is made to order. They have the usual staples for Dim Sum (har gow/king prawn dumping, shu mai/steamed pork & shrimp dumping in crab roe, Cheung fun/steamed beef rice roll, steamed spareribs). I enjoyed their crème & pineapple flavored pastry. Some dishes I recommend are the dry stir-fried beef chow foon, seafood pan fried noodle, pork chop kingdom style, and roast pig. I would definitely come back to this restaurant again to try out more of their other dishes. read more

Authentic Cantonese dim sum. Medium sized restaurant, not crazy busy on Sunday for lunch but had some business with other Cantonese folks. Food was piping hot and fresh. Wrappings were thin and authentic. Dumplings were stuffed and brimming with shrimp and fillings. There was a push cart. Service was very nice as well. I am so happy that there's an authentic affordable dim sum spot in the area! Will definitely come back often. read more

Visited New Han Dynasty for the first time today. Most authentic dim sum I've had in Baltimore. My dining partner and I ordered seafood chow fun and black mushroom with vegetables in addition to dim sum. All the food was flavorful and cooked healthily. Looking forward to returning. Under new ownership. Food is "Hong Kong" style now is aweful!! I wish that they used the original New Han recipes. Wontons are tasteless, egg rolls are smaller and not as delicious as the original ones. Fried rice is tasteless and their Hunan beef/ chicken has no broccoli but is loaded with too many green/ red peppers and does not taste like Hunan. I will not be ordering from New Han ever again. Local gem in Perry Hall that sells American Chinese food, sushi, and a few authentic Cantonese dishes! Came here to order some authentic Cantonese dishes as there really aren't many options unless you go to Rockville which is a bit far away. We ordered the beef chow fun, deep fried pork chop, and the stewed beef and radish. My favorite dish was definitely the stewed beef and radish, the beef was super flavorful. The other two dishes were alright, not the best I've ever had but still pretty decent. I would say it was a little pricey for the dishes as the total was $59 but I think considering convenience and the large portions, it's not too bad. Ordering was super easy and if we had any questions, she would answer them thoroughly. Also considering we had a more special request as most people don't order these dishes, the 20 minute wait for the food was not too bad. Also, they had a lot of carry out orders that were being fulfilled relatively quickly. Inside the restaurant, it doesn't seem like dine is available so most people either call in for carry out or come inside to order carry out. Overall, I would recommend to come try their items. It seems like a popular spot to get some tasty Asian food plus, it's also great to support a local Perry Hall business! read more

The chicken was crispy hard. Had to plunge the fork into it! Sauce was good that so that ended that. Chicken and Cashews previous owners it was great not a lot of fillers unlike new ownership. It had all sorts of vegetables chicken was tender and nice amount cashews. Ordered egg rolls. What we received was large spring rolls. Menu was very extensive. From and back of 2 menus. Chinese food is officially over for me. Chinese food is not as good as it used to be. This place has the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The general tsos chicken was soggy. The sauce was too thick and sweeter than normal. The rice was mushy. The egg roll was meh! The wonton soup was good and they may have accidentally threw a round fried shrimp in the bag with the egg roll, that thing was good. I probably won't be back here again. Waste of money. 2 stars for the wonton soup and the accidental fried shrimp. read more

I ordered two orders of hi Ken wings and shrimp fried rice: one WITH egg, one WITHOUT egg. I have the lady reread my order prior to remitting payment (over the phone). She says it'll be ready in 15-20 minutes. When I arrive, I'm told it'll be another 10 minutes; no problem. I go run an errand and return. I ended up waiting just about 30 minutes. I get home. My wife opens both containers of food....egg in BOTH dishes. Thus, I call the place, speak to the same person I ordered the food through, ans she gets the manager. This guy gets on the phone, I explain to him what I ordered and there was egg in both dishes. I also tell him it SPECIFICALLY says that only ONE order was supposed to have egg. This guy tells me that I need to bring the food all the way back to the place to either have the food made again. I even state that I can take a picture of both dishes showing they both have egg (again, I have the receipt showing that I wanted egg on ONE dish; heche the same receipt. Nonetheless he still insists that I go back to the store and bring it back, although, again, I already waited 30 minutes for the food, was willing to take a pic of both dishes, AND the same receipt I had (and the restaurant) shows that I ordered only one with egg. We used to order there whenever we wanted Chinese food......NEVER again. If they want to hassle about a dish they messed up, with evidence, they'll no longer get my business. STAY AWAY. Scrumptious! We did takeout here for Valentines Day on a suggestion from my wife's cousin. Wow! What a wonderful surprise. The food here is absolutely delicious. It's ten times better than any other Chinese restaurant I have tried on the east coast. The orange chicken is lightly sweetened rather than inundated with harsh orange flavor. The broccoli is fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the daily special where you get an entree with chicken fried rice, soup, fried shrimp, a humongous egg roll and a fortune cookie for a reasonable price. The portion sizes are large enough for multiple meals. The lady we ordered the food from was so lovely and sweet. I am definitely coming back here at least once a week. read more

I have lived less than five minutes from New Han Dynasty for over ten years and never new how delicious they were until this year! One day, I just decided to try a new Chinese restaurant and found N. H. D. on Yelp. The beef and broccoli looked tasty and that's what I tried first. It was pretty good-actually so good, I didn't snap a picture! Very recently, however, I went to try their shrimp fried rice and crab wontons and OMG, EVERYTHING WAS SOOO GOOD! I literally finished everything! It was so good, I went back two days later and tried the beef fried rice and their egg rolls. The beef fried rice was absolutely delicious. I asked for the beef to be well done and requested for the peas and carrots to be omitted. It was so flavorful and with a couple of added packets of soy sauce, it was perfect. They may be my new spot. The prices are affordable and the lady at the front is so, so nice! Now, I'm not saying I'll give up my other favorite Chinese restaurant down the road, but this will definitely be my runner up spot! read more

This is our local go-to restaurant for Chinese food. The ingredients always taste fresh and the service is always friendly. Our favorites include shrimp with lobster sauce, orange chicken and General Tso's. Be sure to check out the dinner combos--their egg drop soup is the best! There is a sushi bar but I have never tried it. read more

We came in one weekend afternoon to check out their lunch specials, we always drive by but have never checked this restaurant out so we figured why not give it a go. The inside is pretty standard and clean, it wasn't busy at all for a weekend, I'm guessing that the cold weather maybe kept people at home or possibly had them order delivery. The food in general was good, nothing mind blowing but pretty solid. One thing I will say is that when they were preparing sushi for a customer, I could smell the fish which is usually not a good thing so I'd stay away from that . I ordered the cashew chicken, the chicken was a bit chewy and there was a ton of celery. My husband ordered the General Tso chicken and that was good. My daughter ordered the shrimp lomein and while good it was a bit heavy on the soy sauce. The wonton soup is yummy, the spring rolls are really lacking something but not horrible. One thing I will note is they do use msg and you have to ask for them not to use it in your dish. I will definitely check them out for another lunch special but I won't reorder the cashew chicken. read more

The general T was crispy and the sauce was sweet and tasty! The owners were so nice. They checked on us a few times and made sure were we ok. This was a fortunate find for us on our way down I95. It's about 5 minutes off the beaten path. Family owned, great service and a sweet, sweet family. We had a huge sushi platter and some mushu seafood. Everything was prepared to perfection. The sushi was fresh and the mushu was not watery. The two of us shared both dishes. We've ordered takeout from New Han a few times this past year and everything has been great! We've found a new place. Their fried wontons are always light and crispy, the egg rolls have fresh cabbage, and their fried rice has a good amount of meat and veggies in it. Definitely one of the better Chinese takeouts I've had. My son says they have great sushi and he loves their spicy tuna roll. They also have strict COVID measures in place. read more

I've driven by this restaurant countless times. My favorite Chinese food restaurant closed a few years ago (Jackie Chen) after a fire and never reopened. So, I decided to give New Han a try. The location is convenient, directly off Joppa Road behind Weiss. I ordered pork fried rice and 2 shrimp egg rolls. The take out order took about 10 minutes to be prepared. The woman who took the order was very polite and friendly. The food was okay. It lacked that flavor wow and the egg rolls had too much garlic. The pork fried rice contained green peas, carrots, egg, and yellow onion. The pork pieces were plentiful, but lacked that roasted pork taste. The shrimp egg rolls had ONE good sized shrimp rather than those tiny bait shrimp which I despise. We will definitely return because of the nice staff and welcoming atmosphere and explore the menu. read more

This place is great for holiday dinners. They have the ability to make large set-ups, and are relatively empty on Thanksgiving and Xmas. The food is delicious, no matter what time of year. The service is impeccable - the staff is extremely friendly. Prices are in the normal range for a Chinese restaurant in the area. read more

Positives: people working there/owners are very nice. Friendly and quick service. Negatives: ALL the food we ordered. Edamame seemed like it came out of the freezer and then microwaved. Was informed they only had pork fried rice or steamed rice. Reluctantly decided on pork fried rice; pork was cold, smelly and chewy. The spring roll was not proportionate and the batter was too hard, smelled and tasted like it was fried in old oil. I ordered a seafood dish which included shrimp, scallops and beef all of which tasted the same. Beef was chewy and pieces were very large. Wife ordered fried sushi roll which was hard and smelled like old oil. We both left hungry, sick and disgusted. Found metal in my dish which is extremely dangerous. Didn't complaint because we just about had it by then. Wasn't even worth the effort. Atmosphere: DEAD. Ate here on Friday night and not another soul in the restaurant. To go orders were coming in intermittently. I have no idea how this place has 4 star reviews. read more

Absolutely the worse dining experience in recent memory. I'm always on the look out for sushi. Sometimes, you find that sushi from places like this (asian fusion) restaurants is really good. But the problem is everytime I come to this shopping center for a meal, the draw of Mission is deep. Well, this night, I really wanted scallop sashimi. I take a look at the menu and don't see scallop, so I ask and am told they have scallop. The tl:dr version of this side plot is that miscommunication led me to believe they had live scallops as opposed to cooked scallops. While this was a disappointment, this has no baring on their rating. I walk in and order 3 things: won ton soup, a house salad, and unsweetened tea. I'm brought the tea immediately. When the won ton soup comes out, I ask for extra scallion, and am given them immediately and they are fresh. But then I look into my soup and my won tons are dried out! I point this out to the woman, and she says "they're not dry" and walks away! I'm rather ticked here. But I decide I'm going to bite into the part of the won ton that isn't dried, and it's horrible. The sad thing is the broth of this monstrosity was good, so I dipped the stale fried noodles in it. I set the bowl aside looking mostly untouched. Then came my house salad. I love different varieties of the japanese salad dressing, but this couldn't even be considered dressing. It was like...baby food put on lettuce and carrots. There was little, if any, sesame oil in the dressing. It really just tasted like somone pureed carrots and ginger and threw on a bed of lettuce. It was terrible. So, after one bite, I ask for the check. It's obvious I am not pleased with my food. It's all left there on the bar. She brings me my bill for this disaster and it comes to $5.86. I leave $7...being generous. As I get up, the waitress says "I forgot to add your tea" and tries to rush off to revise my bill upward! Can you believe this?! I told her that I left $7 and that should more than cover it and walk out to never return. The food was horrible, the service was horrible. No thank you. Never again. read more

Yelp failed me on this one. We were planning on going to the Orient but based on reviews thought we would give it a try. Server wasn't rude, just not attentive. Served our food with no rice, then took our drinks to refill them and never came back. I had to get up and ask for water, only to see that she was staining at pictures on her phone. Terrible customer service. We ordered a large order on a busy night and expected a long wait for delivery. We were quoted 1.5 hours, which we were fine with. However, 2 hours passed and still no food. We called for an update and were told it was being packed up to be delivered. 2.5 hours after we ordered, still no food. Called again and were told It had just be sent out for delivery. Asked if our warm food would still be warm and our sushi still cold and safe to eat. Were assured it would be fine but if not to call back and ask to speak to a manager. Food finally arrived 2 hours and 45 minutes after we placed the order, all food room temperature. Called back to speak a manager only to hear a long list of excuses. We have ordered food here before, but never will again. read more
