Sun Wah is your typical Chinese carryout. However in my opinion there food seems to a bit more flavor in taste than others I frequent. There food is really good. Though I have been sprung with my order of the shrimp &beef dirty yak and wings. They are pretty good with timing with you getting your food rather if your call in or walk in. They are nice but not overly friendly. The parking lot is small because its settled in a short small shopping strip. So be prepared to maneuver for parking if it's crowded. 2 days ago I was told that I needed to try the shrimp yak from Sun Wah. Once I saw how close it was to my house, I decided I'd try them out today. I decided to order the shrimp yak mein and the general tso's chicken. I placed my order over the app and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived right at that time and my order was already bagged and ready to go. I was greeted by a young guy who handed me my order and gave great service. I grew up in this neighborhood and still travel all the way back there just to get Chinese from Sun Wah. They don't skimp on the meat like other take outs and they routinely throw in freebies for regular customers or large orders. My favorite type of Chinese food, one that's normally only found in Baltimore and Philly, is called "yat gaw mein" (thick, long noodles covered in brown gravy-ish sauce with onions, meat, if desired and a hard boiled egg). But Sun Wah has produced something different - "yat gaw mein with chicken and broccoli" which as you probably guessed, is a hybrid of two dishes, but they take it a step further... it's different from your run of the mill yat gaw mein in that it is spicy (think Szechuan) and sweet with a hint of brown sugar and no egg. It's one of the least expensive items on the menu, and in my many unsuccessful years of searching for a substitute have decided this dish is completely unique to this restaurant and cannot be replicated. If you ever go to Sun Wah, it would be an absolute TRAGEDY if you missed out on trying this dish. I should also mention their shrimp toast is on POINT!! It's not those pre-cut triangular wedges you usually see. It's 2 full slices of bread with shrimp pieces on top, fried hard. And they NEVER BURN IT!! It's the best shrimp toast you will ever have and as far as I've seen the only take out place that actually makes their own shrimp toast rather than just throwing some frozen crap into a fryer. Their fried rice is always soft, dark brown, rich and flavorful and doesn't have any peas as added filler. The parking can suck if it's a busy time of the day and they only take cash (no debit or credit cards). The General Tso's (and other similar items like orange chicken) are pretty mediocre and run of the mill, though. read more

My dad and I have been going to this family owned spot for over ten years. I grew up on this place. I don't ever have any complaints. I only had one complaint like over 5 years ago when I ordered the Orange chicken and they had an orange slice on top, they normally don't do that and it was too much citrus. They don't do that anymore. Their brown sauce is great, good consistency, rich and flavorful. This spot is better than most of the Chinese restaurants in the county. I can vouch that Orange Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and Hunan Chicken are great. The gen. tso or orange are not too sweet like the other user said, instead they are just right.
