The menu they have online is not the same menu they have on their website. It has totally different prices and serving size, as well as spice level which is a little misleading. They were very busy and took a long time to prepare the food but were very pleasant while we waited. All of our items came back hot and the bag was well stocked with utensils and sauces. Stumbled across this gem while searching for a reliable Chinese carry out spot after moving to Baltimore from PG County... (if you're familiar with that area, then you understand the criteria).. Absolutely blown away by the quality and taste of the food. Orders do take a bit of extra time as they're made to order and from scratch, but that's the least of complaints. This is a family Owned and run TAKE OUT Chinese. The Egg Foo Young is the best I have ever had. I also love the Chicken with Sesame Sauce. I only have those two entrees and its Great, delicious and I highly recommend. The lovely Family is all there on Saturday from the wife -Mother and the Husband father-CHEF and they have 3 children. The oldest Son is in charge and is there on most Saturdays. The lady owner who usually takes my order and her son who helps, are always nice and friendly. The general tso chicken is good. However, sometimes I may have 1 to 2 pieces of chicken that are too chewy and the sauce is sweet to me, even though it is supposed to be spicy. I usually ask they make mine very spicy. Golden Wok is the quintessential Chinese takeout spot. The food is fast, puts the commercial chains like PF Chang's to shame with the flavor, and is priced right for a busy Wednesday night. The interior isn't much to look at, with no sit down dining and the CoViD era lexan still standing, and reminding you that Broadway still lags behind the rest of Fell's in terms of safety. This was my first time getting takeout from this family run restaurant, but absolutely won't be the last. We got the Beef Low Mein--a solid choice for thick noodle goodness, as well as a stellar orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef. This place is delicious. It is the best Chinese spot in Baltimore. The food tastes fresh, and the meat isn't dense with batter. The sauce isn't saturated with color or cornstarch. The veggies look and taste fresh. It's a bit pricey, but the portion size is fantastic and large. I can easily eat for two or three. It's definitely worth a try. read more

This place is run by friendly folks and is affordable with big portions, but the food just didn't wow me. We got the shrimp lo mein, General Tso's chicken combo (comes with pork fried rice and a pork egg roll) and a beef and broccoli combo (same sides). Shrimp lo mein: Good flavor and not too oily, but not super memorable. Shrimp was ok-- this was takeout so not expecting more than that. General Tso's chicken: Chicken was well-sauced and had a good flavor but wasn't crispy under the sauce (a little mushy). That would have really punched it up to the next level. It came with broccoli, a pork egg roll, and pork fried rice. The broccoli was crisp but wasn't really seasoned (and wasn't really covered in sauce either). The pork egg roll that came with the combo wasn't great-- not the freshest and had a bit of a stale oil taste. The fried rice didn't taste like fried rice I've had at other Chinese takeout spots-- it seemed like they used yellow rice instead of frying up white rice with the ingredients. Beef with broccoli: Though the beef was very tender, it was not as flavorful as the General Tso's chicken. The meat was fairly bland. It came with the same sides as the other combo, so same impressions there. My hunt for a favorite Chinese takeout spot in Southeast Baltimore continues! read more

The service is solid for a carryout joint but it's got many of the flaws of the 21st century carry out joint like a Kung pao chicken that is nothing remotely like the real dish and they don't have that addictive wok hei flavor i pine for from my years growing up in Cantonese owned carry out joints. However I have to say they take requests well (some places butcher it up or don't accept them) and their vegetarian fare is solid. I asked for tofu with my Szechuan string beans and I got it and it wasn't a hot mess. The seafood soup is pretty tasty. read more

Overview: Walking up to the Golden Wok for lunch, from the outside it looks like what you would expect as you get further North on Broadway st in Fells Point. But I wouldn't be quick to judge this one by its appearance. We stayed to eat, but the seating is not all that great but they do have some. Waited all but maybe 10 mins for our food to be done. The service was good, they got people in and out pretty quickly Specials: Lunch Specials are very cheap, for a good portion of chicken/beef or whatever meat you want and fired rice or white rice it is less than $6. Food: The food was nice and hot which to me is always a huge positive. Getting the General Tso and Fried Rice as my go to. I would have to say it was good! But nothing too special about it, thought the fried rice was a little plain but everything was good for a lunch spot. This was on the special and actually had some food leftover. Service and Staff: The lady who helped us out was very nice to us!! Overall Score: 3.8 - Not bad but had better fried rice. It was good nothing special. Fiancé is a BIG fan of Chinese carry-out. We stumbled in here one day when I insisted on tacos (he hates Mexican food) since it was right down the street from us. He loved it! Locally owned by a super friendly family. He ordered the beef & broccoli without the broccoli, a side of noodles, and extra brown sauce. The brown sauce was an extra $1, but you get a big container of it. It was perfect to add in when heating up leftovers. Next time he got dinner here he ordered the General Tsos, which he liked even more than the beef and broccoli. We will definitely be back when he gets his Chinese cravings on weekend evenings. My boy wanted some Lake Trout and chicken wings, so I brought him here. While GW doesn't serve "Lake Trout", the fried fish platter is bar none the best value I've found in the city proper. The fish filets are huge and battered in a crumbly breading that is very crispy and crunchy. However, everything else we ordered was so greasy that it really detracted from the dining experience. wow finally found a legit "hole in the wall" chinese place in Baltimore! ive been on the west coast for the past 10 years ansld there are few things they cant do, one of them is chinese take-out so when coming back east as of September i couldnt wait to show my 2 cali native roommates what real chinese take out was all about! Unfortunately our 1st 2 experiences were lack luster and i think its cuz they chose the top "yelp rated" restaurants...honestly too boojie and nothing to remember but they let me pick this time and i found the unassuming corner joint and we couldnt find anything bad to say! other than "holy s**t this is what you're been talking about" and that statement echoed through the whole meal. From rib tips, cheese wontons, cheesesteak eggrolls, wonton soup, misc fried rice and noodle dishes not 1 negatively word was to be found...do yourself a favor and give them a try! This is my first time writing a yelp review, but I decided to help as many others as possible. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION - THEY CHARGED OUR CARD FRAUDULENTLY FOR A RIDICULOUSLY LARGE SUM. AFTER AN INVESTIGATION, OUR BANK DEEMED THEM 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR PREMEDITATED FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY. We ordered through this company one time ... then MONTHS later received a charge for over $100 on our credit card. Luckily for us, our bank flagged the purchase because it was so suspiciously high. When we called the restaurant for information on the charge (which had only been made a half hour earlier...), they claimed they never received it, didn't remember it, didn't process it, etc. When we asked to speak to a manager or accountant, they because hostile and aggressive. After calling us liars, the owner eventually hung up on us when we threatened to call the police. Our bank later confirmed that the same restaurant had done a "trial transaction" of $1 on our card - after seeing it go through, they cancelled it and charged us a LARGE transaction. Our bank said they see this behavior most often when someone is testing a card's authenticity before making a fraudulent purchase/withdraw. Again, DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR INFORMATION! read more
