Just ok. Coming from NY very hard to find good Chinese food. Order doesn't take long to be prepared

As other reviews says, it looks better than it really is. PAID Xtra for white meat in hoping that it would make a better experience.. it didn't seem to be white meat at all ..half the chicken was chewy with alot of batter. The sauce and the broccoli was the best part. The rice wasn't good either. Wonton soup was flavorful. This was my first and last visit yesterday and was hoping for the best but I will continue to take that longer drive to The Orient on belair rd when I want good quality orange or general tos chicken. read more

It would help to actually receive your order, sadly the delivery person is like a negative 10, and I was made to wait over an hour in which my order was picked up and then never delivered and the idiot took my tip, small online, her fault she missed out, I'd like my meal I couldn't order at 9:30 pm when it was picked up yet cancelled, greedy only got a dollar which I expect back and ya dodo missed out on a tip because I believe in taking care of those that work for tips as well, as I own a business which tips are generous so I pay it forward, to the dummy on Uber eats you screwed up and you won't be driving as u thought you weren't getting a tip yet decided to steal food that wasn't even $25, loser screwed yourself as you will never be able to be employed by any delivery service, you suck! You make this business look bad and that's horrible read more

China boys are the best five star Chinese restaurant in Harford County Maryland. The food has been always delicious never dry always moist. The service is fast and you always you get a lot of condiments and a lot of fortune cookies. The atmosphere at the restaurant is a very friendly and welcoming place. I noticed this tucked in the corner in a shopping center in Joppa. I had noticed the sign before but since I was in the area, decided to check it out. As relevant with the times, they are following all Covid 19 requirements. I was impressed by all the plastics. Anyway, food was all right. I just had the basics - fried rice and lo Mein so cannot talk about the specials but if you are hungry - they will meet your need. read more

I got some Yat Gat Mein, it was not made the way I am used to. It was made like a watery soup and had no flavor, the shrimp was soggy, it came with a boiled egg on the side that wasn't even cracked, and the texture of the noodles didn't even feel like yat gat mein noodles. This has been my go-to Chinese takeout for about 15 years. In my old review I had given it 5 stars, and through many staff changes it's been really good takeout for a reasonable value. Although I really like the current owners, much of the food has changed, and I just don't care for it. The egg rolls are smaller, which is ok, and the dumpling sauce is less salty, which I guess is ok too. The big change that's driving me away is that most of the dishes normally served in a brown sauce are all in a kind of translucent egg white sauce. It tastes pretty bland on its own, but coating the meat and veggies looks an awful lot like snot. It's not that it isn't edible, it's just very visually unappealing, and a stark contrast to what is usually pretty tasty food. I'm disappointed, but I'll keep an eye out. They may yet bounce back. read more

Date of service: 12/16/11 I stopped by at 2:15 to pickup food for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised that their lunch specials run 11am to 3pm, which makes buying dinner with a nice variety a good deal. Each lunch special comes with pork fried rice and soup or egg roll. So I ordered two with egg rolls, and one with egg drop soup. Three meals for $17 to feed a family of four. I'm not cheap, but frugal, and it is nice to be able to feed two ravenous teenagers for less than $20 when ordering out. So I ordered, Orange Chicken (medium spicy), Sesame Chicken (non-spicy), and General Tso's Chicken (spicy). For all three meals, the chicken was fresh, tender, and crispy, but the most important the chicken was Yummy too!!! At a lot of Chinese place the pork fried rice is greasy and without a lot of flavor. Chinese Boys' pork fried rice was not greasy and it was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. The two Asian girls (very cute) were both attentive and polite as well as efficient. I watched them make a large amount of egg rolls while I waited (see pics). You can dine in house if you desire, but they only have 3 tables available. I gave them 3.5 stars for food, and 0.5 stars for service, making them 4 stars. My family really enjoyed their food, which means we will be back without a doubt. read more

Unfortunately we should have not traveled off the beaten path. We should of trusted the reviews and traveled the distance for decent Chinese food. It was so horrible we tried to re-season and recook the meal the called food. It was so bad we wouldn't even feed it to our friends dog. Looked unappealing and the taste was undesirable nasty. Better luck on our next adventure; I might to be on my deathbed and they are are the last place on earth to even think about going here again. read more

DISCLAIMER - this review is for CHINESE food takeout based in Harford county only This area is not very ethnically diverse at all, but to find this little Chinese take-out gem was VERY surprising. The food is pretty close to what I ate in Chinatowns around the major cities that catered to the less adventurous Chinese food fans =) I had the Szechuan String Beans, Lake Tung Ting Shrimp, and Chicken and Broccoli in white sauce. My usual complaints about Chinese take-out is that they have awful tasting chicken... slight freezer burn and ... lack of flavor, but the chicken here doesn't seen to taste as awful. The white sauces (egg white or wine based) are really good and not to be missed. The Shrimp was fresh tasting and lacekd freezer burn =) The Szechuan string beans didnt have the bitter melon, but for this area, it made sense not to have it in there. overall... good place for chinese. not OVERLY starchy or salty. read more

This place has been our go-to for chinese for years. The combination platters give you more than enough food, and the food is always fresh! My favorite is the hot & sour soup, nice amount of spice without burning and tons of flavor. The chicken and broccoli is very yummy, fresh broccoli without being too crunchy and the chicken is very delicious. I'm not a big fan of their egg rolls or dumplings though. The egg rolls have too much ginger for my liking, and the dumplings have too much dough at times. This is not enough to keep us from eating there, but I usually don't order these items as they can be too much of a hit or miss. read more

It's always just right :) They have great shrimp egg foo young and chicken and broccoli...two of my favorites. If you live in the area this should be your go-to chinese joint...very yum!! I really like this place they deliver to me in Edgewood, and that's great with no delivery fee, even better! Besides that the food is pretty darn good. It's surprising because it looks like a creepy place you'd see in the city. I've liked everything I've ordered from there EXCEPT the gross egg rolls, they are flowery and flavorless!! Instead, ask for the spring rolls they are MUCH better!! The service was quite efficient and friendly. The hot and sour soup was authentic. It could have been spicier with a bit more vinegar but was an enjoyable soup. The beef dish was flavorful not too salty, but also needed a bit more spice. The steamed rice was perfectly done. Not sure why all the negative reviews? I've been eating here for years. Yes they did change ownership a few years ago but they obviously kept the recipes. Their chicken wings are amazing! Personally I like the General Tso's chicken and the shrimp lo mein combination dinners. Oh and if your order is over $12 ask for the "2 free egg rolls" read more

My wife and I order from Chinese Boys AT LEAST once a week. Good food and excellent staff! You know it's a good business when the owners know your voice and don't ask for your address or phone number...and on some occasions can even finish your "regular" orders. Don't feel like you cannot ask for something that isn't on the menu either. If you want to try different things and experiment then just ask. We tried General Tso's shrimp one night, loved it and now it's on the menu and is a big seller. read more

Chinese Boys is your typical carry out restaurant, in that the food ranks fair to good. Their customer service is far above average, and in that respect, I would give them five stars. Prior to moving to Edgewood, I lived near a great Chinese restaurant. I haven't found one in the area. I am very satisfied with their overall product of food and service. read more

If you think this place has good food then I'm sorry to inform you that you have no taste buds. This place is absolutely horrid, food is always dry and over cooked and it all tastes EXACTLY the SAME! Local Chinese food place. If you have a craving for Chinese or too lazy to cook then this is the place for you. Nothing much to brag about, but it's good, and delivery is super fast. Ok... So I've been living in Joppatowne my whole life, and, I'd have to admit, this place is a HUGE disappointment!!! The food honestly tastes like roadkill!!! Not that I've ever eaten roadkill, but it seems like the correct analogy. They DEFINITELY DO NOT USE PREMIUM INGREDIENTS!!! Plus if you don't order your food without vegetables, all u get is a plate full of some weird cabbage looking crap and bamboo shoots!!! Yuck!! Sauces are gross, meat is full of gristle...
