It's hard to really stand out as a Chinese restaurant when there are so many options. China taste is definitely one of my favorites. Their portion sizes are insane - a small fried rice will last me 2 days. Prices are reasonable. Service is quick and friendly. Their fried wontons are not too greasy and have a ton of filling. Seasoning is on point. I've honestly never had a bad meal or a bad experience here. This is one of those hidden gem, "if you know, you know" places. If you're in the area and craving Chinese food, give this place a try! You won't regret it. read more

Ordered the crispy duck and the Bo Bo tray and was just sorely disappointed. The duck was deep fried until it was dry and then salted to death. The Bo bo tray had ribs in it that tasted off, like they were about to spoil or beginning to. The shrimp toast was respectable though. Not too greasy and was cooked well--but again TOO SALTY. The whole meal tasted like depression and a restaurant front for a shady back room business. I had a rough week and was looking forward to some good food but this just added to the pile of things that stressed me out. $50+ for a small box of depressing food is not how I wanted to spend my Friday night. read more

I have a few Chinese restaurants to choose from in my neighborhood. China taste is one of them, but I admittedly don't visit as often as the others. I wanted to go somewhere different for some house Lo Mein (chicken, pork and shrimp) and decided upon China Taste. I ordered over the phone and by the time I arrived, it was done. I added some egg rolls to my order as well. The egg rolls were standard- nothing amazing about them. Just shrimp, cabbage and...roll. Lol. But the Lo Mein was DELICIOUS! It was amazingly flavorful and the meats were seasoned well. The noodles and vegetables were nice and tender. I think that when I have a taste for Lo Mein in the future, China Taste will be the go to for sure. For a small Lo Mein and two egg rolls, I believe I spent around $12-13 with tip. China Taste also serves sushi. I've ordered sushi here before and it was pretty good! I figured that would be helpful to note because some Chinese/Cantonese restaurants do not serve sushi. Try them out! read more

The sushi was good however the shrimp lo mein was not, it wasn't fully seasoned and there were white noodles at the bottom which meant it wasn't mixed together properly. Service was good, nice atmosphere and quick however I will only purchase sushi if I return. read more

I hadn't ordered from China. Taste for several years. What a disappointment. The quality of what used to be really distinctive and creative. Sushi has gone way downhill. Super disappointed. Not to mention, the delivery person just threw the food on my porch and did not notify us. It was there. Completely did not deserve the tip we gave them. We will not be ordering again. Completely disappointed. $90 worth of food that wasn't worth $.90. read more

Is this the best Chinese food in Baltimore? Probably not. However, if you are looking for a quiet, consistent, belly filling, Chinese restaurant that also serves pretty good sushi. This is the place for you! My family has been coming here since I was a child (a long time ago! At least 30 years!) The service is always consistent, the food is hot, fresh, and filling, and the atmosphere is calm and quiet. My children beg me to come here at least once a week because there's something for everyone. Also one of the last Chinese places that still serves crispy noodles AND hot tea immediately upon arrival. read more

One of the best Chinese spots around! The shrimp toast is awesome! Try the shrimp fried rice..

My son and I stopped here, because of convenience, we were in the area. As soon as we walked in, you get hit with a heavy musty smell which was a turn off, we still placed an order giving the establishment the benefit of a doubt. We ordered general Taos chicken, with fried rice, and a egg drop soup. Nothing was good, the Chicken was fried to hard before dipped in the sauce, it was just dry, the rice had chicken in it, as well as the pit veggies in the fried rice, which I don't care for, then were were still hard and barely cooked. The egg drop soup was the consistently of a thick soup, way to thick for me, and it lacked flavor, first and last time for me visiting this place. read more

NEVER AGAIN! LESSON LEARNED! $13 for a Large Shrimp Cashew - in actuality, a large, tasteless container of mostly water chestnuts and green peppers with an incredibly small amount of overcooked, rubbery, jumbo shrimp, and a 1/4-1/3 cup of soft, cashew nuts. However, according to the female owner/manager, we should've been totally content because they "always" put 9 shrimp in the large dish. If there were actually 9 jumbo shrimp, there wouldn't have been enough room to fill the container to the brim with water chestnuts and green peppers. $11 for a Large Beef with String Bean - in actuality, a large container filled to the brim with burnt tasting, soggy, string beans and between 7 to 10 shriveled, slivers of beef. Tasted and looked like very old leftovers. The female owner/manager didn't bother to argue with me about this dish. Over the past year, we've probably ordered from China Taste 20-24 times with a tab between $50-$100! The first 15 orders the food quality was quite decent. However, without any logical explanation, the food quality on the last 5 orders had degraded significantly! Especially, the last order! The only reason my boyfriend and I decided to give China Taste a try is because a year ago we simply got tired of Szechuan Taste screwing up too many times; getting our orders wrong, giving us a small size dish when we ordered and paid for a large, and filling up dishes with 80% vegetable and 20% meat! And to have the audacity to frequently increase their prices, because of COVID, by $2-$3! Plus, we saw some relatively recent positive reviews for China Taste. Never thought it would be this difficult to find a decent, local Chinese restaurant that doesn't overcharge you for horrible tasting and aesthetically unpleasant looking food!! read more

After trying other Chinese food spots in the area and being underwhelmed, I decided to give this spot a try. Went in after 5 pm to order takeout. They have a takeout counter on the opposite side of the entrance from the dining room. I ordered shrimp egg foo yong and a regular beef lo mein. My order was ready in 10 mins just as I was told. Food was fresh and flavorful, and by far the best Chinese take out I've had in the area. The lo mien had perfect balance of noodles and meat. The egg foo yong was loaded with shrimp, topped with a tasty brown gravy and served with steamed rice. I had leftovers for lunch and dinner over the next couple of days and the food was just as tasty reheated. I'll return soon to try other options. read more

Before I write anything about this place, I want to say that I've tried every Chinese restaurant/carry out in white marsh and within a 30 mile radius for the best fried rice (for food show purpose) and traveled quite a lot for food and lived in nyc which is know for amazing Chinese food from different providences. That being said, here's my reason for my 3 stars. Let's be frank, white marsh/ Nottingham doesn't have good Asian food to say the least. You have to drive down to Ellicott city/ Arlington, VA to get decent Asian cuisine. For those who want a list, message me. So finally about their menu. I can't say much about their sushi because I've only had California roll from them and I don't count that as sushi, but their Chinese food is actually pretty good and fairly fresh compared to these other places that says so. Can't say it's authentic but if you want authentic Chinese food, ask them. They can whip one up pretty well. I tried their family seafood soup, beef and broccoli, Mongolian beef, Singapore noodles, and their shrimp fried rice. I was pretty surprised of how good it was after going to chopstix (can't say it was the worst but pretty down there). And FINALLY. For those who are complaining about egg rolls, crab Rangoon or any of the Americanized appetizers, do me or any Marylanders a favorand PLEASE Eat all the damn eggs rolls you want at PF CHANGS and keep those comments to yourselves. Your food IQ is clearly single digits at the most. read more

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at China Taste but the food I tried was just okay. From what I've heard, I expected more. It definitely wasn't enough to keep me from trying other menu items. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I'll be back. I tried two kinds of chicken - General Tso's and Bourbon. Both came with white rice that was cooked to perfection and as good as it gets - trust me! The General Tso's chicken had very good flavor but the breading was very thick and fell off periodically robbing me of the delicious flavor. It's such a shame. There's some room for improvement. The Bourbon chicken was very different. It is not as sweet as you would expect if you're used to the mall food court varieties. This is a salty version and was alright on day one. The surprising thing was that it was much better on day two as leftovers. I don't know if it soaked up more juice or what but it was definitely better. read more

Out of all the Chinese places in the area, this is my go-to. Or my delivery-to... Place. Thing... I get delivery because where I work, I'm alone. Lonely guy. :( hehe. The customers keep me busy yay! Their delivery times are always on point. They usually tell me if they're busy and when they might be coming with time frames. And they're usually accurate. My usual appetizers: Steam dumplings or spare ribs. The steam dumplings? Mmmmm.... The wrap's texture is just perfect in my opinion and there's a good amount of filling: meat, veggies, and other mystery stuff haha. The spare ribs are greasy and fatty, just the way I like em! Though sometimes I might have 1 rib that barely has any meat on it... The dishes I've tried so far: General Tso Chicken, Neptunes catch in birds nest, moo shoo pork and chicken. I saw someone say that their General Tso Chicken was 2/3 batter. I'm sorry to hear that, but in my own experience, it was completely different. The batter was like 1/10 of the chunks for me. The flavor was similar with your usual General Tso Chicken though. Neptunes Catch was DELICIOUS. Some of you may not like the dried crispy noodles, it's not the same as your usual "House Pan Fried Noodles". It's different. But they fill it up with all kinds of meats and veggies and sauce, such a great combination. The moo shoo pork and chicken wasn't bad and it goes great with the pancakes + hoisin sauce. I've ordered from them around 10 times so far and they've never disappointed me. Great place! read more

At a friend's suggestion decided to try this place. Upon arrival the food was ready for takeout at the promised time. Have been searching for a Chinese restaurant with food that tastes like the ones I grew up with in the City. Unfortunately this is not it. We ordered the Shrimp Egg Foo Yung, Shrimp Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken along with a side of pork fried rice. I would describe the rice dishes like my son always says as "perfectly fine". Nothing extraordinary but certainly nothing to complain about. I'd say the same about the Lo Mein. The Egg Foo Yung reminded me a bit of what I missed from the places in Baltimore City however the gravy was really dark and the dish tasted overcooked with a slight burnt flavor to the gravy. It had potential. The chicken however was somewhat dry and really lacked sauce. It really could've used the extra sauce. In my house normally the chicken dish goes fast however this time it's just sitting in the refrigerator. I can't say that I'll never eat here again but what I will say is that if it happens, someone else will be paying the bill. read more

Service was good. We now live in New York. Dish should have fresh vegetables though.

My family walked in after seeing a movie. I was concerned at first because it was pretty empty. We ordered our usual favorites: wontons soup, fried rice, lo mein dish and sweet-and-sour chicken. We were all pleasantly surprised about the large portions. The soup was superb. Very flavorful and full of vegetables and meats. The house fried rice was delicious. The beef lo mein did not disappoint. Our waitress was very attentive and intermittently checked in on us. We love the cleanliness of the restaurant. Definitely going back. read more

Common sense tells you not to write a review if the first time you visit a Chinese restaurant is on Christmas day! So a few days later we came back. I must say that the server on Christmas day was apologizing all over the place as it was very crowded. She was great.. the food okay. My son ordered the house duck which he said it was spot on and cooked perfectly I ordered the shrimp egg foo young which had nice size shrimps. Overall is was good. We also ordered sushi which was tasty and fresh. The second time we went back we both ordered the house meal that came with an egg roll and soup. For a complete meal for $6.00 and I had leftovers you can't go wrong. Oh almost forgot the shrimp toast.. it was great so definitely order this as an appetite as you can't go wrong! read more

China Taste is far beyond exceeding the 4 1/2 star rating they currently have. Lets start with the basics: they deliver, the sushi is ALWAYS fresh, the portions are large, the owners are super friendly and the prices are on point. I can say that I have delved into just about everything on the menu because its always nice to broaden your horizons. Sushi Faves: California, Tuna, Avocado, Baltimore Roll Chinese Food Faves: Spicy Shrimp, Beef & Broccoli, Kam Pao Chicken, Szechuan Beef, Egg Rolls, WONTON SOUP! I recommend eating at this family owned restaurant that provides great service, along with great food. A personal "Xie Xie" (Thank you) China Taste for far exceeding my expectations each and every visit! read more

Wow - another big miss from Yelpers North of Baltimore. It does amaze me what passes for good Chinese food, in general though. Won Ton soup was just wrong. Beef-based broth, and the pork looked and tasted like mystery meat. Left 1/2 of the cup. My wife had the Hot & Sour, which was at least resembled normal Hot & Sour soup, and was probably the best thing going. Onto the egg rolls - not too greasy, but 90% cabbage filled with a strange smokey flavor. Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice was also a big disappointment. Chunks of chicken had a strange texture, and the majority of the dish was water chestnuts. Fried rice was off too. Szechuan Beef was surprisingly lacking flavor. Prices are very reasonable, and service was friendly, if not attentive. With that said, no chance of returning., despite being conveniently located for us. read more

Wonderful aesthetic. The booths are comfortable, and the overall decorum is pretty. The wonton strips are a good starter, and they are bottomless. A significant amount of food for a relatively low price. You can eat good food without busting the bank. There are also numerous options, but you do have to be careful when ordering food if you are a vegan or vegetarian. Be sure to ask if the veggie food has any eggs. The sushi is large, and very filling. read more

Price of the sashimi dinner is good since it comes with seaweed salad and miso soup but buyers beware, It was disgusting. Tuna was not fresh, it seemed previously frozen. They exchanged it for some salmon which was only okay. There is also imitation crab meat being passed off as sashimi. I will not come back for sushi. BTW, I have been ordering Chinese take out from China Taste for years. Why can't we get a good and affordable sushi place in Perry Hall. Ugh! read more

The food is good but a bit pricey. The service is really quick and the food is clean. No major complaints other than the pricing.

I love this Chinese restaurant and the owner , Jenny is so accommodating. I usually get the super meal and take at least half of the main entree home for next day's lunch. It consists of a piece of shrimp toast, an egg roll and a crab Rangoon, a soup and the main entree. Plus a little ice cream and a fortune cookie for dessert if you eat in. They also serve sushi. I decided to pop in here for some sushi after I got a pedicure at the nail salon that's two doors down. So a perfect stranger (jury duty) told me this was the best Chinese in Baltimore. I was skeptical, but figured it was worth a shot. This is not "authentic Chinese", it's the standard Chinese-American we all know, but done superbly. Everything is fresh and yummy, even the wonton strips with the soup were homemade and perfect. The steamed dumplings were soft and meaty. The lunch special Szechuan beef at $6.59 was a diner sized portion of the tastiest beef I've had in a Chinese restaurant. Ready to go back and try out dinner, but next time I'm bringing home leftovers instead of finishing off. read more
