    Shrimp Singapore Noodles

I just recently switched to this restaurant. I took a risk because every Chinese place is not good. However I was glad I made the switch. I had the shrimp Singapore noodles and my boyfriend had shrimp fries rice. We were both

Order food today on DoorDash. Delivered. Shrimp toast burnt. Couldn't even eat. Asked them to prepare the general chicken and asked for it spicy. No heat at all just sweet. Fried rice very bland and no egg at all. Best part of the meal was the egg rolls

    Shrimp toast??

Wow what happened to all the Chinese restaurants in Eastern Baltimore County? I finally found one open and it was this one. I really wanted Shrimp toast for some reason on Good Friday. Well I had to let my friends know that if they don't hear from me tomorrow I'm in the hospital. I don't know what their shrimp toast is made of but it has no taste and looks like chopped cat food. Yuk. Super greasy and looks uncooked inside. Plus the spring rolls look like taquitos also look uncooked inside. Never agAin. I will hold out for China Taste across the street-please reopen! Damn you Coronavirus!

Full disclosure, I did order my food at 10:30pm last night, which is 30 minutes before they close. My food arrived at 11:30pm. I got the quart of Wonton Soup and the Quart of Shrimp Lo Mein plus a side of Egg Rolls. The soup was warmish along with everything else. Nothing was hot anymore, nor actually warm. Which is not ideal but its okay we reheated everything. The taste of it all was blend, nothing stood out. Except the quantity, they are generous with their portions. Their price too is very good! The wonton soup comes with many wontons. The shrimp Lo Mein came with a good amount of shrimp and mushrooms nothing out of the ordinary. What I do have to mention is that although it was late and they were close to closing time the Lo Mein was freshly made and you could tell because the mushrooms weren't overcooked in fact even a bit to the raw side. My husband is the one who loves this kind of dish. All he said was it needed soy sauce, which translates to, not a lot a flavor... The eggroll is crispy outside and had no taste of pork whatsoever. It was more like a spring roll with pink tasteless dots. Anyways, Maybe it was the choices of dishes or maybe the time of the order. I wouldn't order the same items if there is a next time. I forgot the pictures we were so hungry.... But the pictures you find in their yelp are accurate. In fact, I might give it a second chance and try the Thai Red Curry, just because the picture looks very yummy, along with the Moo Goo Gai Pan and some Fried rice. Lets see, maybe they will be on point and I'll definitely order earlier.

Each protein costs $3-5 each so if you want to add a second protein, expect the price to go up significantly. I definitely prefer Poke Bowl 2016 in Kenilworth White Marsh/The Avenue because almost all of the toppings are included in the price and getting 2 proteins in a large bowl is only $17. Here, everything is sort of nickel and dimed. The bowl was pretty good - the owner gave me spicy mayo on the side for free when I asked which helped the taste. I do wish there was more salmon/protein given - it was more rice and veggie heavy. I do want to come back to try the sushi burritos which is what they are known for. The seating was ample in the restaurant and restaurant seemed clean.

Both were flavorful but the spring rolls were lukewarm, at best, and the Udon was lacking a sufficient amount of chicken. The space is clean with simple decor. This place is seriously underrated. We almost let the Yelp reviews scare us away, but I'm glad we…read moregave it a chance. The iced coffee was amazing, the beef pho had a rich flavorful broth, and the hu tieu was excellent too. The customer service was actually great -- the owners are older Vietnamese people and you can tell it's a small family-run restaurant. They're not rude at all, just older and probably handling a lot themselves. I think some people mistake that for bad service when it's really just a more traditional environment. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food made with care, this spot is definitely worth trying.

Some Context: As someone who's of Vietnamese descent and…read morelives in Southern California (home to the most Vietnamese outside of Vietnam), I have had some of the best pho in North America. I knew going in that having pho anywhere else would probably be disappointing, but I always hope for a pleasant surprise. The Food: I can only comment on what I ordered: pho dac biet (special combo pho with rare steak slices, well-done brisket, flank tendon, and and tripe). Taste wise it was ... alright. The noodles were standard, the meats were good, and the tendon was delicious. The problem was that the broth was kinda bland, lacking the delicate mix of herbs and seasonings that a good bowl of pho should have. And anyone who enjoys noodle soups knows that if the broth doesn't cut it, the whole meal suffers. Don't get me wrong, the other pho ingredients were quality, but the bland broth was a let down. The Cost: The bigger letdown were the prices, which had me saying, "What the pho?!" My combo bowl was $27. That would be an outrageous price for pho in Southern California (where prices have skyrocketed), so you could imagine my "sticker shock." And the costs for the other entrees ranged from $14 to $20. While the portions were large, I'm not sure the quality justified the price. The Drink: I had a caphe sua da (or Vietnamese iced coffee) and was, again, not impressed. It tasted like it came from either a concentrate or instant coffee instead of being made in a phin, a type of slow-drip metal filter, before the condensed milk was added. Again, not a bad coffee, but the price didn't justify the average taste. The Service: The two employees were fast and friendly. They didn't check on us at all after delivering the food (standard operating procedure for most Asian restaurants), but the fact that they were polite and seemed like they cared is a big plus for a Vietnamese establishment. The Atmosphere: The restaurant was clean, spacious, and modern. Meanwhile, the bathroom was shockingly decent and well stocked. Again, two aspects that were a pleasant surprise for a Vietnamese restaurant. The Conclusion: If you're new to pho and want to be impressed, don't go here. If you're familiar with pho, need a quick fix, and don't mind paying a premium, this place will do.

The food was extremely underwhelming. The dishes lacked flavor and tasted bland, almost like they had been sitting out for a while. Nothing we ordered felt fresh or worth recommending. I am a regular, I patronize this location several times per month. When the food is great it is well worth the price. On a positive note the bartender/waiter was very attentive and accommodating and the banana spring roll dessert was excellent. Hope to have a better experience on our next visit.
