2026-09-06. Casa Deluz Banquet Hall…read more
The former location of the Regal Palace and Banquet Hall, and going way back, the Red Ruby. Casa Deluz is the result of an entire revamp of Woodside square. The vision was to create a multiuse space for this parcel of land located within the Toronto city limits for the community. The indoor mall is bow a mix of retail stores and restaurants and playscapes for younger children. Among the shops and restaurants, you'll find Dollarama, Mini So, shoppers Drug Mart, a Pizza Pizza, CoCo Bubble Tea, a Haidilao Hit Pot, a Noodle Place, and of course their food court. Woodside square has also transformed to a dinosaur theme Playscape with both an indoor and an outdoor playground. The indoor one is much smaller and geared for younger kids, and the larger outdoor one consumes part if the parking lot along Finch Ave.
But enough of Woodside square, let's focus on Casa Deluz. The restaurant actually shrunk in size from what I remember and part of it is now where Haidilau Hotpot resides (if memory serves me correct). Its still a banquet hall style restaurant and they have the capacity for 700, but there will no longer be a reception area if you have a party this size.
We came here because of their ability to easily handle larger groups with larger tables. We were a party of ten, and they easily accommodated us. They don't take reservations, but we arrived around noon and only had to wait less than 10 minutes. We ordered all our usual suspects, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, beef tripe. Pan fried shrimp tofu rolls, steamed pork stuffed tofu rolls, deep fried squid tentacles, steamed rice noodles with shrimp, steamed rice noodles with beef, steamed beef balls, chicken feet, steamed spare ribs, jellyfish and roast sucking pig platter, stir fired long beans with ground pork, and sticky rice in lotus leaf. There were some other dishes we tried as well, but they were not our mainstays (see pics). Prices are pretty standard, small, medium, and large go for $6, $7, and $8 respectively. The XL, Jumbo, and Special dishes are $9.50, $12.50, and $13.50 respectively. And beyond that, the prices are as marked.
The food was pretty much on par with most dim sum in the GTA (even though this restaurant is still within Toronto city limits) and the dumplings are oversized and priced at a large. The only notables are the beef balls which come in a quantity of 4 rather than the traditional three. Like all Dim Sum restaurants, they will charge for tea for the every person in your party, including kids, so if you don't drink tea, make sure to let them know. It's $2.50 per head, so you do the math. Our bill came out to about $40 per person, but in all honesty our eyes were much bigger than our appetites and we ended up packing quite a few dishes to go. If you order properly, it'll likely be closer to $30 per person.
On an ending, and somewhat unrelated note, The Everbest Bakery inside Woodside Square is fantastic. I forgot to check-in, but they're a modern bakery that also makes classic style Chinese buns (deep fried curry beef buns, the tray of mini coconut buns, pineapple buns) that really surprised me.
