I'm sorry, but this is another hobby place where everyone acts like they don't give a crap if you…read morewalk in or not. Tried to shop there on a few occasions (I'm a big hobby spender, young lady/atypical hobbyist, don't look like it but I know my stuff, deep in it and need singles), and you step in and everyone has just more important things to do than help you. Feels rude and unwelcoming. Drove 30 mins with my partner looking for singles, and their whole case was covered in boxes of other cards so you could see nothing. Possibly some sort of tournament happening in the seating area but the store was open, we had money, we wanted to buy. I attempted to move them so I could see and hopefully buy, and after I moved the last of like 5 cases so I could see (we've been at the store for like 15 mins) what I'd assume is an employee approached me. "You are going to break the glass, so I'LL MOVE THEM FOR YOU." And he finally removes the last box (had no idea that me gently stacking cardboard boxes would potentially damage plexiglass, but whatever, no one helped us for like 15 mins. Like what?). So I peaced without purchasing any of the things I noticed I wanted after I could see their inventory. Super rude and unhelpful, seriously cost you my business. My partner bought a few packs of a set we were having trouble getting, not out of patronage, but feeling like it was a wasted trip if not. We won't be coming back. Awful taste in our mouths, be welcoming if you're a hobby shop, or at least pretend helping us is important to your business. Urging fellow hobbyists to hit up That's E or the one in Shrewsbury on Boston Turnpike over this crap. There's a reason they still have the in-demand sets...

Great hobbyist store for card collectors and Funko pop. Lots of tables for card tournaments and…read moregames - saw people playing Pokemon and other card games. Great addition to the mall. Decent selection of MTG cards; unfortunately only those that are playable in tournaments. Would be a classic to see some alphas.

These days, there aren't many model railroad shops around, but North East Trains is still here and…read morestill selling trains! The store's got a lot of O scale (Lionel) trains and it's clearly the primary focus of the store, but there's also a couple aisles of HO scale and a couple displays of N scale. Look hard and maybe you can find some S or G scale. The back room also has a selection of scenery materials and model kits. With the overwhelming amount of merchandise, items are overflowing into the aisles. It can be hard to find things if you're looking for anything specific. If you're looking for the latest HO releases from Rapido, Atlas, or Athearn, this isn't the place. ...but if you want to get some inexpensive freight cars and track for your favorite kid (or yourself), you're bound to find something here. The staff has obviously been in the hobby for quite some time and should be able to answer your questions.

What a great store! I was in town visiting a train layout nearby and stopped in here. They have a…read moregood selection of new stock (mostly O gauge, but some N, HO and G scale too) and a tremendous variety of used trains in all the popular gauges. In the back they have scratchbuilding supplies, books, and paint. I found some stuff here (O gauge vinyl roadbed) that hasn't been made in years. In talking with the staff, they purchase collections of stuff so they don't always know what they will have. It is like walking into a used train show, and the prices are very fair. The staff are also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I only wish I lived closer than 3 hours away!

An innocent walks in here, looking for specialty trading cards (or perhaps to sell some cards at a…read morefair price). Yes, sure, that's the easy and obvious reason to come here, and probably the reason that draws most here in the first place. But what the innocent doesn't know is this: Upon the first step inside as you push the door open, you catch your breath. And in that breath, you breathe, you smell history, friendliness, knowledge, and secrets waiting to be discovered. Just in that first single second, you realize you have found a special place that doesn't exist anywhere else in the whole entire world. You gaze in wonder, hardly daring to even take the next step for fear of missing some gem on the walls, shelves, stacks or showcases. You know immediately, that you will spend many seconds, minutes and hours here, just appreciating the wealth and variety of sports memorabilia. And if you don't know what you're looking at, you soon will. The owner has an easy way about him: insanely knowledgable, yet approachable and so kind to kids and grown-ups alike. He gives you a friendly greeting, and within a few minutes of chatting, he has sized you up, knows your inner longings and dreams regarding all things related to sports nostalgia. He saves and hoards special items for hundreds, nay, thousands of customers, delighting and taking honest pride in his humble quest, which appears to be to provide the perfect home for each and every one of the treasures he meticulously collects. Complete with a kids' club ("Gilbert's Gorillas,") where kids get free cards, games and an education in collecting, this is an old-school mom & pop joint that's as good as it gets. You can find a myriad of trading cards for every sport imaginable. You can find baseballs signed by famous people (yes, even the Big Bam is featured), sneakers worn by basketball players, jerseys and all manner of other great sports-related gifts. But mostly, you just have to experience the vibe in here. You may have wandered in here as a casual browser, but you will walk out an acolyte.
