I wish there was an option for a negative star rating. The WORST. ABSOLUTE WORST establishment I have ever spent my time and money on. Not only do they give you the wrong order but when you try to fix that order the woman at this establishment will yell and belittle you. I repeatedly asked her to stop yelling and cutting me off and that I simply wanted a refund due to the mistake of my order. I will NOT consume food I did not order and I do expect a respectful fix to the situation. I spoke to her in a very respectful manner. This is my go to for Chinese since 1980's. They are on the second owners, but the food is the same. I always compare all Chinese restaurants that I patronize for the first time to New China's House Lo Mein, Fried Rice & Won Ton Soup! Ordered a take away fried beef flat noodle. It was tasty but there was just too much oil in the noodles! I literally had to put a piece of paper towel to soak up all the oil that's at the bottom of the container. New China needs to be conscious of the health of their customers. I'm not a huge fan of take home Chinese food. Mainly because I am a pescetarian, meaning I eat fish/seafood but no other meat. In my experience, Chinese food to go with shrimp dishes are mostly rice or sauce with a decent amount of veggies and a few shrimp. This place has a good proportion of shrimp to veggies, sauce, and rice. I would recommend it. I absolutely love the fried shrimp appetizer. It's greasy and probably 20-25 shrimp, but they are so well cooked and the sweet and sour isn't watered down like I'm used to. It actually has some flavor! read more

Lunch for 3 on a Sunday afternoon. We had the place pretty much to ourselves. Order at the counter, grab your drinks, and then find a seat. Nothing crazy. Order was Sesame Beef, Triple Delight, and Shrimp Lo Mein. When the food arrived, the smell was amazing. The different mixes of garlic, ginger, and sesame oil were making all of our mouths water. I got takeout for lunch. I had ordered general Tao's chicken (lunch portion) and an order of dumplings steamed, 4 fried)(. My total came to 12.12 and it was enough food for 3 people! The portions were huge. My only compliant was my dumplings tasted a little raw in places. (i personally like things tasting doughy but others may not). Few weeks ago I was looking for new Chinese restaurants to try and I decided to stop by as I saw good reviews for this restaurant. It is a rather small restaurant with decent decor inside. As I walked in, I could smell the good food and the lady was quite pleasant. She was willing to answer my questions I had about the portion of the food (lunch special and combination platter) and they had free calendar scroll for customers too. The order came in a timely manner and the cashier will pass the food out to you. I really enjoyed the Kung Pao Chicken I ordered with fried rice. The fried rice tasted good too and I'm glad they put bean sprouts in the fried rice too (unlike other Chinese restaurants that does not). We've heard good things & it WAS worth the drive! My husband wanted GOOD lemon chicken. Vegetables were pretty & very fresh! Chicken and sauce were packaged separately and very good. One of the things I think would help would help their location would be to hire a professional window cleaner come regularly! read more

I've eaten at new China several times since my original review (both dine-in and take-out) and am dropping them down one star for inconsistency. Sometimes the food is very good; sometimes it's just OK. Once, I had hot and sour soup that was inedible (it seemed like soy sauce and water with a ton of mushrooms added - very gross). Other times the hot and sour soup has been quite tasty. Different cooks in the kitchen maybe? I've had the best luck with the food eating it there at lunchtime while it's still piping hot and the vegetables are still crispy. Take-out would probably be OK if you live or work very close. For me, it's about a 10-15 minute drive to my house depending on traffic. By that time the veg have steamed themselves into a pathetic state of limpness. Not a good thing. read more

This is my first time at New China. The prices are ok for the huge amount of food that is stacked on a plate. There is so much that you could split it with someone. This is your typical fast Chinese food place: small/large portions, soups, rices, lunch specials. They have the easily recognizable menu board pictures and familiar color menus. The restaurant is clean, quiet, and doesn't overpower you with an off-putting odor or cloud of smoke from too-hot Grier oil when walking in, as many do. I ordered edamame and the chicken with veggies. As many places do, they have me way more for my money as the lunch specials include choice of fried or steamed rice and soup or egg roll. I opted for the wonton soup trying to make healthier choices. I'd add the final star if the lunches included a drink. read more

We hit New China once a month, usually good Chinese food with monster portions. Even the egg rolls are twice the size of other places. You will be taking home more than half of your serving. Not the greatest atmosphere, but pretty good food and one of the best values for your money. read more

05/14/14 This place changed hands and has gone down hill. The food is bland, in fact it doesn't taste right. We have tried it five times since it changed hands and the food is just terrible. It's a shame as we had been ordering take out for over ten years. I would avoid it like the plague Good solid Chinese food. The portions are large and the prices are very affordable. The egg rolls are huge and very good. We have ordered many different entrees and found them all satisfying. We have been doing takeout for over ten years and the food is consistently good. Hmm. Where to start? It is a small mom and pop place hiding in a strip center. They do have a large menu with a good variety of choices, and their serving sizes are large, but they are too pricey for the paper plates and plastic ware they provide you. This place used to be my go to place for Chinese. My experience from last night's food has changed my thoughts completely. My favorite for many years was the general tso combination platter. The first thing notice was how their egg roll has changed. The size is smaller but the most important change was the taste. It tasted like it had a freezer taste and it was no way near as crispy as they used to be. The chicken for the general tso was smaller as well and with no crisp whatsoever. I'm willing to give new China one more shot, but in the distant future. Hope they survive the exodus of stores in the shopping strip. read more

Since moving here from Southern California I've hit a few Chinese restaurants in the area and this is my favorite. It's probably the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. The pork egg rolls are good for American style Chinese food, and boy are they big. I get the large hot and sour then pick something random to try to go. Placed a to-go order for three meals. After placing an order for the first meals, I said L21a which is on their menu on-line. The lady taking the order seemed confused. I told her I was reading the number off the online menu. She quickly became frustrated and had an angry tone. She then asked if I wanted noodles. I told her whatever normally came with L21a. She was still confused and asked if I wanted Beef Lo Mein even though their online menu says L21a is Beef Chow Mein. Her tone was increasingly agitated. I finally said, "Yes, that's fine." When I got to the restaurant, she was equally rude in person. I showed her a picture of their online menu and she got a very angry tone and placed her hand on the bag saying it was wrong. I placed my hand on the bag to tell her it's fine and she thought I was going to leave without paying because she loudly said you have to pay first. Of course I was going to pay first, I was only explaining that whatever they put in the bag was fine. She gave me the worst feeling. I'm not home yet, I pulled over to write this review, so I don't know how the food taste but regardless of how it taste, I won't be back because the lady taking the orders and working the front counter is scary. read more
