One of our dogs was extremely fearful when we adopted her a few years ago. After a lot of work with multiple great dog trainers, play therapy, and eventually an SSRI, she improved a lot. But after we started her on walks with Igor and the team, she's gained even more confidence, is happier, and it's so noticeable. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is for not offering to at least give us a discount after our dog ingested hard pieces of plastic while in their daycare with Norma. He came home and started to vomit right away and after the 3rd time he did it, I decided to take him to his vet to see if his intestines were clear - if not, his life could have been in danger. I'm glad that at least he vomited them all as seen in an x-Ray and he only needed to take some tablets for his upset stomach. I also understand that we can get distracted while taking care of a puppy, but I didn't like the fact that I spent +$300 due to someone else's distraction and wasn't offered anything to compensate it somehow and rebuild my trust. I expected more than a follow up over text.

Dog Planet does well in what it does with getting your pupper all clean as a whistle and I have a husky and they handle his deshedding pretty well. Main thing I am against is communicaiton and pricing, There is a very strong inconsistency is timings provided for all 6 times I brought my dog over. It could be just because of the dog volume, I am not sure but last time when I am bringing my dog to the front counter, I am told 3-4 hours from 10am and and its hitting 3pm and I am told not done and I wouldnt see my dog until 6pm. Other times would be early such as told 4-5 hours but done in 3 hours or all day but done 2 hours after i dropped him off. Its very annoying to where I can't plan the day. Pricing, i think its because I have a large dog of 48 pounds and hes a husky so Im paying around $150+ for him, idk if thats normal pricing for monthly grooming with deshedding. Place is really nice, they bought a second space on further right of the store for their operations for dog cleaning and used their old space for merch.

Anyone who knows anything about Chow Chows understands that they have a double coat and that shaving them can cause serious problems with coat regrowth. The fact that a professional grooming salon would do this is absolutely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the groomer tried to justify what happened by claiming my dog was matted. That is simply NOT TRUE. I brush my dog daily, take excellent care of his coat, and know exactly what condition his fur was in when I dropped him off. When confronted, she called it a "misunderstanding." How do you misunderstand a simple request for a TRIM and end up shaving an entire dog? My dog is 7 years old and has NEVER been shaved before. His beautiful coat took years to maintain, and now I have no guarantee that it will ever grow back the same way. What makes this even more upsetting is the complete lack of professionalism, judgment, and accountability. As a pet owner, you trust groomers to understand different breeds and follow your instructions, not make drastic, potentially irreversible decisions without your consent. I have before-and-after pictures showing exactly what they did to my dog, and the difference is absolutely heartbreaking. THIS WAS NOT A SMALL GROOMING MISTAKE. THIS WAS A COMPLETE FAILURE TO RESPECT MY INSTRUCTIONS AND MY DOG'S WELL-BEING. I would NEVER bring my dog back here, and I strongly urge other pet owners, especially those with double-coated breeds, to think twice before trusting this establishment.

We have been very pleased with Damiana as our cat sitter! She is a true cat lover. She has been taking care of our cat Tiramisu for about 8 months so far. We went away for a long weekend just weeks after adopting our fur baby, and I was pretty nervous to leave her so soon. I felt very reassured after the "meet & greet" with Damiana, and she did a great job. Tiramisu loves seeing her! She always responds promptly when we contact her about upcoming trips, and was even flexible with us when a winter storm changed the dates of a trip last-minute. Tiramisu also got ear mites some months ago, and Damiana pointed it out to us. We appreciated that and were able to treat them upon coming home. Damiana sends us pictures/videos every day so we know Tiramisu has plenty of food, water, and love/playtime. I miss Tiramisu when we go away, so it's also really nice to see real-time updates of her this way too! Things always seem to be in good-order upon coming home. I highly recommend Never Alone Pets for cat sitting. I have peace of mind when I'm away, knowing that Tiramisu (and my apartment) are in good hands with Damiana! read more

We requested Never Alone Pets services while we were away over Christmas, to take care of our cat Lula, who has a heart condition requiring medication 3xday. Damiana was extremely professional, visiting us beforehand a couple of times in order to meet Lula and receive all necessary instructions. Since the visits would be done by another petsitter, Camila, she also came along to practice with the medication a couple of times and get Lula to familiarise with her. Lula's schedule is very strict, and Camila maintained it zealously. Both Damiana and Camila kept in touch and updated us daily during our absence. Camila even stayed overnight for the last few days, when Lula wasn't feeling so happy, despite it being during Christmas day. We are very happy and grateful for the care and attention Lula received during the time she was at their charge. Given her condition, we were very worried about our long absence, but Damiana and Camila made us feel that Lula was in the best hands. read more

I work a lot and feel terrible leaving my high energy Shiba Inu alone all day. I have used Doggie day cares and found them to be over priced and less then satisfactory. After meeting Dami I was immediately excited and beyond satisfied. From the in home meet and greets to the photos and communication on every walk, Dami and her team and life savers! I come home and my dog is happy and not bouncing off the walls. I get pictures of my dog outside and happy as could be. Dami and her team and professional, accommodating and very sweet. 2 weeks before my holiday trip my usual sitter for my dog canceled. I frantically called around and researched on yelp and found Damiana. I called her right away and that weekend her and Alisson were at my apartment meeting my baby boy Taco. We went over what i was looking for and she assured me everything will be fine and my baby will be in good hands.. and She was right!!! HER AND ALISSON ARE AMAZING!!!!!!! Alisson came to my apt each day walked, fed, played, and even cleaned up any mess daily and took pictures twice a day to assure me he was ok. I felt so much better while i was vacation. Never Alone Pets is the perfect pet service. We left our 10-year old cat for nearly two weeks in their care. Damiana and her colleagues came twice a day and looked after our cat. We received photos twice a day, and Damiana answered every question we had about her. Our cat also needed two doses of medicine, which were administered without any problems. When we returned, I think the cat's eating area was even cleaner than when we had left! Choosing Never Alone Pets really allowed us to enjoy our trip and not worry about our beloved cat back home. Damiana and Alex have been amazing to work with. Since we started using Never Alone Pets, our dog has been incredibly well taken care of. He can be shy, especially with new men, but Alex was so calm and gentle with him he was instantly at ease. He's so happy when Alex comes to pick him up! Damiana is always available for questions, and Alex sends the best pictures of our dog during their walks. He also always checks his water bowl for us if we aren't home and refills it. Im over protective of my dog Manny since he partially blind and has suffered a lot before I got him so naturally I was hesitant when that moment came that I needed a dog walker. But, I am now a believer in dog walkers. I can say without a doubt Damiana and her dog walkers are amazing. By far the best pet sitters in the area. We have been leaving our kitten with Never Alone Pets since the start and couldn't be happier with the service. On our big 10 day Cali trip, we received lots of pictures and videos of our kitten twice a day, showing that she was fed and playing and doing well. We missed her so much and the pictures were a really awesome bonus to look forward to twice a day :-) Pricing is totally reasonable and the service is awesome. Damiana is the best! I feel completely 100% comfortable leaving my kitty in her extremely capable hands. It's always nerve wracking to leave your pets when you go away but Damiana really put me at ease. She's extremely communicative and responsive (texting us multiple pictures every time she visited) and I swear she left my kitchen cleaner than she found it. Damiana loves pets and it really shows. I immediately trusted her upon meeting her and felt comfortable going away knowing my cats would be well cared for. It is impossible to convey how muxh i appreciate Damiana and Alex. My dog is difficult and i thought I wiyld never find help. Instead, Alex rook took time to develop a relationship with my hard dog and treats him with such love. I get photos and updates and he and Damiana have worked so hard to accommodate my schedule. Which is huge as I'm VERY cautious and picky about having their care in someone else's hands. But the staff at NYCPS is absolutely phenomenal. C & C attend daycare regularly and love it. They play, they socialize, they get cuddles, and by the time they're home they're exhausted I also want to say I have the two smallest dogs that attend daycare regularly, and have had 0 issues with larger dog's temperaments (if tiny dog owners had the same question/concern as me). The seasonal photoshoots have to be one of my favorite perks/services - Beth is incredible at 1) having the dogs stay calm and focused for the picture 2) creating awesome seasonal backdrops/sets 3) taking the actual pictures 4) editing them! The quality of pictures is something my friends and family always comment on. See for yourself! I've also utilized drop off services when I've been unable to pick my babies up before close and have had 0 issues as well. I really trust the staff I could say so so much more and talk about the awesome calendar, the Halloween party, and so much more, but I'd be typing forever lol. NYCPS is truly an Astoria staple and me and my fur babies truly feel part of their community. Highly recommend.

I don't know what kind of sorcery was used here, but Diana and Shaily managed to somehow charm my Eartha Kitty enough to take quality care of him while I was away. They give him all the love that anyone pup could get, they walked him when he was so stubborn he didn't even want to walk and after Mr. B. tore his ACL, they carried him (a 50+ lb pitbull) up and down the stairs for months. As for me, I have a job that sometimes requires late nights and weekends. These late nights often are sprung upon me with no warning. Paul has always worked with me to get my pup walked even with a last-minute request. I have recently moved out of range for their service. I can only hope I can find a team half as caring as Paul's. We will surely miss them.

Paul and Aki both send updates through text after they walked Alison and sent pictures. Scheduling was very easy and Paul always accommodated us with last minute changes. When we first met Paul he came over and answered all of my questions. He made me feel super comfortable with him coming in and out of my house with no one there. He instantly bonded with our dog. Both him and Aki are absolutely dog people. Paul also stayed with Alison over Labor Day weekend when we wanted to go away. I wouldn't have left my dog with anyone but him. He sent us updates the entire weekend and gave medication to her that she needs to have twice a day. She was able to stay in her own home and zone instead of my having to take her to a kennel, which I didn't want to do. Everyone on our block also knows who Paul and Aki are now because of how friendly they both are when walking our dog. I wouldn't recommend anyone else but Urban Waggers.

He's not an easy guy to take care of, either- he's a high energy Vizsla- but she is incredibly caring with him. If we pass her on the street he goes crazy when he sees his "Nanny". She was also one of the only dog walkers in the Astoria area who was willing to work with my varied work schedule ( I work shift work in an ER). Not only is she a great dog walker/nanny, but she also takes care of my cat, Shortie, whenever I go away. This involves feeding, changing litter, and even treats and playtime. Shortie loves her just as much as Sampson does.
