This is an ABSOLUTE MUST see. We would have easily skipped this town had it NOT been for the Pesto making experience. The class is a major draw to the town and the town is super fortunate to have Nessun Dorma! The owner is charming, gracious and such a wonderful host. The food and the experience were impeccable! The views are some of the most beautiful in the entire world. The topography to get to this location is only for those who can WALK a good distance!
We didn't do the pesto making class but had the best time having some spritz and focaccia. We got a table around sunset, fortunately no wait when we went and immediately got seated. The staff was super helpful and attentive, they even let us choose a table of our preference. We got a couple drinks and Menu #5 (Bruschetta 3pcs, Plate with 350 gr Burrata, rocket salad, diced tomatoes, Parma ham 24 months, melon, focaccia, evo oil, oregano). The drinks and food were okay, not bad but nothing to write home about. I got the Basilito which was extremely sweet so avoid it if you hate sugary drinks. Even though I didn't care much for the food, trust me when I say that the view and service will 100% make up for any shortcomings that you may experience.
When my husband and I knew we were going to Cinque Terre for our honeymoon, this was an experience I knew I had to sign up for. It turned out being one of our favorite experiences of the trip. We signed up for the pesto experience well in advance because we knew it was popular. There was rain in the forecast that week and the restaurant kindly emailed me asking if we wanted to reschedule. We chose a non-rainy day to come. When I got there, I was surprised at just how popular it was. We filled up the whole restaurant! And believe it or not, the pictures don't really do it justice. Easily one of the most picturesque places I've ever been. I loved Simone as our host. He's the owner of the restaurant and he shared his inspiring story of how he came to own the place. He then shows you how to make the pesto with fresh Italian ingredients. And you actually get to eat your creation at the end with a giant charcuterie platter. You also get to keep your aprons and a bottle of wine to take home. For 90 euros each, I think the entire experience was more than worth it. To Simone and the rest of the staff at Nessun Dorma- thanks for giving us a slice of "La dolce vita" that day. I would definitely love to come back!
We visited Cinqueterre for my sister's birthday and the only thing she wanted to do was the pesto making class at Nessun Dorma. We went and some of the husbands were very reluctant to attend the class. Well the joke was on them! They ended up loving the glass and my brother in law the most reluctant not only made the best pesto but ended up having the best time! The setting is incredible and the story behind Nessun Dorma was even more incredible. We had such an incredible time at our pesto making class and I highly recommend booking one when you visit. They do fill up quickly so plan in advance!
One of the best things I did Cinque Terre. I found out about Nessun Dorma through TikTok, and since I wanted to take a cooking class during my trip to Italy, I decided to give it a try! First, let me say that the best way to book the class is by downloading their app. I booked the class two months in advance, but I went in October during low season, and they still had some spots available. If you want to ensure you get in, book it in advance. Now for the experience. The day we had our class scheduled, it was raining, and I was afraid this would ruin the class, but it ended up being perfect. Someone from the restaurant contacted me to let me know the class was still happening. I was staying in Monterosso, and I left early enough to be on time, but because of a train delay, my daughter and I were 15 minutes late. I emailed them, and when we got there, they were very accommodating and welcoming. The staff is friendly and the restaurant has a spectacular view! We learned about the restaurant's history, how they grow their produce, and how to make delicious pesto. The class was fun, and interactive. I also got lots of wine to drink while in the class and my daughter got lots of juice since she couldn't drink the wine. I was also given a bottle to go after the class and you can keep the aprons you use. Once you make your pesto, you get a platter with delicious, bread, cheese and meat to enjoy with the wine and the view. It was a truly fantastic experience. This was a memorable time and I recommend it if you ever find yourself in Manarola!
Wow what a tourist trap. We walked up around sunset and got a table right away. The view was gorgeous. They rushed us to sit and get our drink order. We quickly picked a tagliere board and the server went off. 10 mins later (around 1850) the food was delivered and we were told the kitchen is closing and we cannot order more. Five minutes passed and we had to ask two servers for our water and wine. They dropped off the wine around 1900 and at the same time tell us to eat quickly they close at 1930. At 1911 they came back with plastic cups to take our drinks to go and told us we had to leave and they took our board. I said "you close at 1930 we will be done by then". And the male server said "sorry you leave now we want to close". We were so rushed we were just about done anyway but WHY WOULD YOU SEAT US IF YOU ARE CLOSING?! This whole ordeal cost €64. They chased us (and other people) out. On the walk down the hill one of the servers almost knocked people over as he was running home/to the train. No idea what the deal was but I would tell everyone reading this to go up the hill for pics then go elsewhere for food. You get no info from them or on their website. You have to get their app and it's not helpful at all. Such a tourist scam I could cry.
I always love visiting this spot when I'm in Cinque Terre. The drinks are all very creative and the bruschetta is divine. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and the view is incredible. Service is quick and the waitstaff are kind. You really can't get a better view so check them out for lunch or a pre-dinner drink/snack!
Delicious aperitivo-type place with the most beautiful location. The food was good, but you are certainly paying for the view. I don't think it is the most filling thing- I left a little hungry still- so just know to treat this less like a legit dinner and more like an experience. Their reservation system is also very clunky, so just know that you need to get their app to be able to get a spot.
We did the pesto experience here! It was such a fun way to enjoy the beautiful views from this restaurant. The food is limited to charcuterie but it's absolutely delicious. The pesto experience was about 80 euros each and lasted about 3 hours. During this time we made pesto, ate charcuterie and had plenty of wine! I thought it was well worth the price as about a bottle of wine and plenty of charcuterie was included. We also got to keep the aprons too which was a fun souvenir! The pesto class is also a great way to ensure that you get a table here. You need a reservation for the class but the restaurant does not accept reservations for simply dinning. The line to dine here can be very long so it was nice to avoid that by signing up for the class!
this place have been on my mind ever since we booked a trip to italy. i'm so happy that dream finally become a reality:) bc the views here are beautiful!! the food is ok. the drinks were ok. ok this place gets super crowded. the best way to get in the queue is downloading their app! as soon as it opens, get on that app quickly! you will get a number! the earlier you get on that app, the better. we were number 23!!! i felt bad for some people that got there and didn't know about the app :( i told them they can do it tomorrow again and do it early. anyways, so glad that we got to sit right by the view. i was afraid we would get seated by inner part of restaurant. by the time they called our number, there were several seats left by the outer part. basically you can sit wherever you want. service was a bit slow but all good. it was busy. it was also hot, but if you sit by outer part they have a mist that turns on. the pesto was good though! def recommend.
This AMAZING mother and son pair run such an incredible pesto making class here in Cinque Terre. I cannot adequately express their dedication to pesto. I am brought to tears and will ever forget their humble nature and dedication to their craft. Hands down the absolute BEST experience in Cirque Terre and of all our 10 day trip to Rome and Tuscany ! I will never, ever forget them! I highly recommend this incredible and unforgettable class! The pesto we made was divine!
Slice of heaven on a charcuterie board! Located on the hillside of Manarola overlooking the sea and beautiful town. Be prepared to wait to grab a seat overlooking the water and town but it is well worth it. POSTCARD WORTHY!! For 27 euros you can get a 4 meat and 4 cheese board that will cover your entire table. The meat and cheese is cut fresh on the spot. Probably going to top the charcuterie board I had in Florence. If you are looking for a great meal along with a beautiful view then this is the spot to go !! read more

Nessun Dorma was the highlight of our stop in Manarola. We hiked the Cinque Terre trail earlier in the day, so by the time we got to Manarola, we were starving! The restaurant is placed on a hilltop overlooking the gorgeous Italian Riviera with the BEST view of Manarola you can find! The restaurant is one big outdoor patio, you can't beat the ambiance. We enjoyed a couple glasses of white wine and some pesto bruschetta. It was fantastic!! The servers were all so friendly, too. We will definitely return on our next trip to the Cinque Terre. read more

Our favorite lunch place in Italy! Set atop a hill on the point of Manarola, the view looking back towards the town across the bay is breathtaking! The meat and cheese place is exceptional (and massive), with great quality carpaccio, salami, pancetta etc. Also wonderful is there bruschetta, particularly the primavera and pesto. The salads and sangria that we've seen people order look amazing and are definitely on the list of items to try next time! read more
Great place for drinks and snacks overlooking the beautiful town of Manarola. There is a VERY long wait but they have an app that you can queue up. Although they stop using that after 5 pm, then it's just a free for all. It's about an hour and a half wait but it's so worth it. I spent the wait time exploring the town and taking a dip in the water. When it's your turn to be seated, if you let them know that you want a seaside view, they'll accommodate and have you wait a little longer until a view table is available. The cocktails are fantastic and the views are breathtaking. The food is ok, a few meat slices and bread dishes. But it really is fantastic. The nessun dorma drink is fantastic and tastes like bubblegum and watermelon. The chocolate, rosemary tastes exactly as it's described. I will definitely recommend this to every I know traveling to cinque terre: but BE ADVISED to plan ahead because of the wait time. read more

This place is beautiful!!! MUST GO! It's located on a cliff in Manarola, Cinque Terre. The deli meat and the cheeses and fruit were a perfect combination. Drinks were so good. No wait. BEAUTIFUL view! Out of this world. Will never forget the taste of the watermelon. It was delicious. Great/fast service. Clean bathrooms available. Your typical Italian view restaurant. This place has it all. - Fantastic, genuine, very attentive staff that provides great service. - Wonderful local wines and delicious cocktails. - Delicious food with awesome cheese and meat snack plates. - Best restaurant view in Cinque Terre. All outdoor seating, exactly what you want with this location. Great food and drinks, and I can't say enough about the staff which were all very friendly and accommodating. There can be a bit of a wait if you are there in the busy season, but it is worth the relaxing, beautiful experience you get at the end of the line. A must stop for us every time we visit the Cinque Terre. read more

My friend and I took a pesto-making class here. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The tables cling to the side of the mountain and are all outdoors. The view is awesome. After the pesto class we were treated to wine made in the area and a meat and cheese board. Everything was fresh and delicious. It is a walk to get to the restaurant with some stairs. It might be too much for someone who cannot walk well and I would not recommend taking children unless you can hold their hand. read more
The best place to have lunch and enjoy the view on Manarola! I'm still in awe of Cinque Terre even months later!!! Manarola is everything I've dreamed of and more. Found Nessusun Dorma on both trip advisor and yelp and def had to go as there were SOO many reviews. We ordered the meat and cheese board and also bruschetta. The food was pretty good, but I'm sure most people come for the view. Prices were average I believe. Ps. they only accept euros so make sure you come with enough! read more

"Come on now!!! With that view?! Easy 5 stars. Get there before they open, wait in line for a bit so you can get a good spot and enjoy that postcard you're looking. We were there on a very hot day. The have a mist system all the rail to keep you cool. I had a few beers and we had the meat and cheese plate. read more

Nessun Dorma is a place I had bookmarked before the trip and I am glad we actually made it. I remember the view and setting more than the food. We had a wine tasting and the insalate Mista and bread with pesto and anchovies. It was a solid meal and worth the wait. My wife mentioned the view and ambiance was easily worth the trip, but didn't remember the food as much. If there is a long line I wouldn't be discouraged as you have an amazing view and it seems to go by pretty fast! If you go to one restaurant in Manarola this is definitely your choice. It's not crazy expensive either considering the location! read more
i mean, how can you not come here? it's pretty much the only place with the view. i was hoping for a more expansive menu, but i get it. everything on the menu is cold, yet fresh. mostly sandwiches, salads, bruschetta and fruit with a pretty good drink menu. my lady and i ordered the strawberry caipiroska and strawberry daiquiri with an italia panini and the bruschetta semplice. the bruschetta was harder than we would have liked. it was a challenge to eat any part of the bread that wasn't the middle. my panini was good. we enjoyed the view and watched a couple argue in front of us. it was pretty awesome. surprisingly, with all the people climbing the stairs, we didn't have to wait very long for a table. we would totally come here again. read more

we stayed in manarola a few years ago, but never knew this place existed. we came back to europe and did a cruise that stopped at la spezia. i knew we wanted to go back to cinque terre so looked for some new things to do. this place came up along with their pesto class. i thought, sure why not, might as well learn how to make something! it was really easy to sign up and they sent an email with instructions. we arrived and there were quite a lot of people there which really surprised me. i guess everyone wants to learn to make pesto! simon was our instructor (and owner) and wow he did a fantastic job with the class! we learned so much about basil leaves, pine nuts, cheese, garlic, oil, etc. he taught us how to tell if pesto was fresh or not and so many other things - who knew there was so much to it? it was a really fun experience making pesto and afterwards was the best part - we got to eat it along with some other food. they asked about allergies and so had rice crackers ready for me along with a salad. all the food was delicious, we got to keep our aprons which was a nice souvenir, and our pesto class came with a bottle of wine, so i felt like the price (100 euros for both of us) was worth it. now that i'm home, whenever i smell basil, it reminds me of pesto and this restaurant. this place is also a restaurant and i believe it's cash only. it gets busy as when we left there was a line of people waiting to come in. oh i forgot to mention, the view is unbelievable! just look at all the photos to get an idea of what you'll see while you're eating and drinking. read more

Had a blast here. We stayed locally and came here for some small plates and drinks. Even though we got a seat "without a view" the view is still incredible. Service was a bit slow but we were in no rush. Got the large meat/cheese mixed plate. It was huge and delicious. A great place for dinner and see the sunset over the water. read more

This was amazing! The location is spectacular and Simone's story about how all of this came to be is brilliant! We returned several times over the next couple of days for fantastic Aperol Spritz's and apertivos! We learned so much and will always fondly remember this experience!! The music was also a perfect background for the experience! Each time we returned, everyone welcomed us like family! Simone and all the staff are absolutely in their element!! read more

Great Service. Stunning view. What more can you ask for? Well I would say great food and drinks. Arrived here just before sunset and was lucky enough to get seats that would allow me capture the beautiful pic you see below of Manarola. But was definitely pleasantly surprised by the taste of the a simple sandwich. And yes, I took a bite of the sandwich before I took a pic. A brotha was hungry! I can't remember the name but the taste of the every bite from this warm sandwich made me want to get another one. But by that time the kitchen was closed. Even though it's a simple place, the food and selection of wines and other drinks makes this place highly recommended from me. In fact I would take a trip back to Italy and Cinque Terre just to go back here. read more
Want the most picturesque view of Manarola while sipping on some Cinque Terre wine? Then I suggest you come here (preferably during sunset)! On our last day in Cinque Terre, I was hellbent on having some wine here. It was closed the previous days we came. We obviously came around a busy time, but managed to score a table for two with the best view of Manarola ever! Service was friendly & the meat/cheese platter was good. We got to try a white wine from Cinque Terre that wasn't too bad either. HINT: Please wait to be seated. We kept watching the poor bartender attempt to tell folks to wait instead of walking straight in. Be courteous, they work really hard here! That being said, I'll definitely return here if I ever return to Manarola :) read more
I had researched this place months before going to Italy and I have to say, it was quite wonderful. We planned to come here right when the sunset and boy, am I glad we did. The view was unbelievable and the photos I was able to capture were unreal. They had a small tapas menu and we ordered some beer, wine and meats and cheeses. The one complaint that I had that they almost couldn't help was that there were the tiniest flies I have ever seen (smaller than fruit flies) essentially taking over our food and drinks. We didn't even notice it until maybe mid-way through. Again this place is completely outside, so it's something that they can't necessarily control. Hundreds of them... all in our drinks and all on our meats and cheeses. We kind of laughed it off and even covered our drinks. The view, music, sunset and ambiance was simply too beautiful to care! Perhaps this is not an issue in other months (we were there in October)? I'd highly recommend this place for the view alone. Make sure to look up sunset times in advance! You won't regret it! We've had 4 very expensive and mediocre meals in Cinque Terre and just came to the conclusion that food is just like this in the area. After eating at this place, we were proven wrong. The view is definitely spectacular. Every table has a great view of Manarola. We ordered a bruschetta, cheese and meat platter, 4 drinks and our bill was €40. This was a great deal compared to all other meals we've had in the area. Things to order: - Bruschetta. Our favorite was the arugula, tomato, and cheese. The tomatoes are very flavorful and the bread is crispy. The portions are also very large, so you get your money's worth. - Cheese and meat platters. They have various sizes of platters you can choose from. I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices. - Caffe Americano. This was the only place in Cinque Terre that had good coffee. The Sangria was meh, but you do get lots of fresh fruit in the drink. read more

Visited Nessun Dorma for dinner and we arrived a bit earlier to avoid the wait. 5:30 worked well for us. We probably waited about 3-5 min for a table. This restaurant was busy during our entire stay in Manarola so we wanted to check it out on our last night before heading to Rome. Service was pretty good. Food was pretty good but we only tried the meat and cheese platter which was 4 types of cheese and meat and bread. The bruschetta at another table looked quite good. Views are great from up here and they do a nice job by blocking the sun with umbrellas and use water misters. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was I thought they could offer a few more "dinner meals" that weren't just tapas style entrees. It also felt like they are just trying to get you in and out as quick as they can rather than enjoy your time there. read more

I legitimately can not believe that this place is real, that's how good it was. After eating here with my friends, I quickly realized that this is my favorite restaurant that I have ever eaten at, and the food and drinks were absolutely INCREDIBLE. Definitely get the cheese and meat plates, but we cautious of portions since they are very large and we could not finish everything by ourselves! I think sitting on the right side is 100% worth the wait as the view is absolutely gorgeous, especially at sunset, and was the icing on the cake to such an incredible meal. I would recommend this place to anyone, as we had an incredible experience and the food is to die for read more

Most of Cinque Terre is the same pretty mediocre food. The main difference between places is the view. This was the only establishment that really raised the "bar" on quality ingredients presented in fun ways. They call themselves tapas-only, but the bruschetta alone is so big and wonderful you'd be full ordering just that! The fococcia (sp I know) sandwiches are FABULOUS, and the view simply can't be beat. Simone the owner is awesome and the staff is so fun and helpful! Also they have a turtle named Ugo who is a delight. The mood is fun and romantic thanks to the incredible ocean and town view and the killer music. Whether you want to grab a drink and apps before dinner while you watch the sunset, or if you want to see the beauty of Manarola lit up at night, this is the place to be. read more

I cannot say enough about this place! Go here asap. The view is BEAUTIFUL. The waiter was hilarious and on top of it. Drinks were awesome, food (appetizers, sandwiches, salads) was as well! The best part is I lost my phone there that day. At 11:30pm I realized it was missing (it was dead for hours so I didn't bother checking). The owner found it, plugged it in. My boyfriend who was back in the states texted me and the owner called him so he could get ahold of my friends. They met me in the morning so I could get it! Truly amazing. The pesto experience was AMAZING!!! Simone (the owner) taught the class. He is extremely nice, fun, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot of interesting information about pesto making, the local ingredients, and cinque terre wine. The pesto making was fun, the included lunch was fantastic, and the free goodies make for great souvenirs. read more

We went for evening appetizers and drinks in May 2019. 5 stars for the view, 4 stars for the drinks, 3 stars for the food. We really enjoyed our cheese board with marmalade and honey (also walnuts, which we didn't eat, b/c we don't like walnuts). The bruschetta was beautiful but average tasting, which is completely unnecessary with the great tomatoes and basil available in Italy. The view is incredible! The drinks were fun. A great substitute for dinner on a night when we didn't need a full meal. read more

The location and view are unbeatable. A quick walk from the Manarola harbour, this restaurant offers likely the best view in Manarola, but the menu is lacking in variety and imagination. We came here for dinner around 7 pm on a Thursday night and waited 10 minutes for a table. We ordered a bottle of prosecco to start - the drinks are surprisingly affordable given the view and the place gives off a chill vibe with, in our opinion, good music (tropical EDM) - great for afternoon drinks in the sun. On offer on the menu is an assortment of salads, meat and cheese boards, bruschetta, and sandwiches. These are all good lunch or mid-day snack options, however, not what we were looking for in terms of dinner options. Surprisingly there is very little seafood offered on the menu. We had the Nessun Dorma meat and cheese board and a classic bruschetta (which comes with 6 large pieces) between two of us. We found this to be too much food - the Nessun Dorma meat and cheese board is best split between 3-4 people. The bruschetta was tasty. Overall, would definitely come back for drinks and/or lunch and the vibe. Wouldn't return for dinner. read more
