We didn't get much but it was delicious. The wine tasting (semi-dry to dry wine) from local vineyards in the Cinque Terre comes with green olives and simple focaccia. We also got the bruschetta and the focaccia sandwich were satisfying, to say the least. The staff is casual and helpful. A great place for a sunset dinner or snack.

So good!!!!

A fellow Yelper noticed I was in Cinque Terre and suggested a stop by A Pie de Ma for the sunset. I never would've found this place on my own, so I appreciate the rec! Keep in mind that this spot is close to the Riomaggiore train station. You only need to walk up some steps and you're faced with a striking view of the sea. You won't get a beautiful town perspective like in some other viewpoints, but this is a great spot to just enjoy some wine (or beer in my case) and apps while overlooking the water. They weren't serving full plates during my visit since it wasn't summer yet, but they did have appetizer plate options. We split a cheese plate (12 euro) and a free plate of focaccia doused in olive oil with a cup of olives. I would've been happy with just the focaccia, and wish I had requested my own plate! It was SO good, I could hardly stop eating it! Definitely grab a spot here for the sunset if you're touring the towns!

wine tasting option with complimentary focaccia

How can you not love all the places in Riomaggiore? This is coming from someone who spent only a few days here but has seriously fallen in love with this place. So I'm not biased at all. The evening we spent here was cold and rainy, AND I STILL LOVED IT. We opted for the 4 white wine tasting options and they were all different and nice. It also came with a complimentary focaccia which was lovely. And as you can imagine, the view was superb. We did need to move into a more covered place as time went on because it got too cold, but it was still very cozy and nice.

Came here for the amazing views and had some good snacks as a bonus. In researching many recommended coming here to watch the sunset. That was the plan but we realized we were too early so opted for a nice apeetivo with a view. (Turns out that was a good decision because it rained later). The concept is order cafeteria style at a counter and then take your number to the table and they will bring out your food. Ordered a couple drinks at the counter and also placed an order for bruschetta. We were able to enjoy our drinks in a corner table with an amazing view. Service was great but could see this place being crowded when the weather is really nice. Bruschetta was tssty with fresh tomato. Large pieces as well. Very romantic spot to enjoy views, drinks, and snacks.

Two levels, down stairs drinks and sandwiches, upstairs proper restaurant food. All in all lovely views which is the selling point really, Nice local food, local tuna or lamb. Italian sized portions just to keep you going The restaurant seating area is at the start of the Cinque Terre walk, which by the way was closed for last five years :(

White wine and view

One of the most popular places to visit in Riomaggiore. I wouldn't recommend coming here for the food. But if you want a bottle of wine and soak in the views, then this is one of the best places you can visit. Located on the (currently closed) walking trail to Manarola. You have to climb up behind the tracks to get to it, but it is a nice way to have a drink while overlooking the clear water below. I am sure the wine is a bit overpriced, but you are getting a free show. Save the heavy eating for restaurants by the harbor, but come here for a drink with a view. Everything looks better from above.

The place succeeds only because of the location: stunning view of the blue waters breaking on the rocks below, and a few steps up from the train station on your way to Via dell'Amore. Service is at the bar: order and check back in ten minutes to pick up. The pricing wasn't as generous as elsewhere in Italy, but again, you're paying for the experience. Our charcuterie and cheese plate was scanty, and the wine wasn't the best. You're pretty much cornered into going here though, because we went into town afterward and it was small and quiet, without any other viable options in sight.

We visited A Pie de Ma while in Riomaggiore after seeing rave reviews online. The 2 stars are for the amazing view and the okay tasting food. This restaurant is self-service, however the staff were quite rude and uninterested in assisting us at the bar. The restaurant is also cash only, which is pretty common in Cinque Terre. Due to the fact you can see the amazing view elsewhere, the food is nothing special, and the staff are rude, I wouldn't recommend a visit.

Gorgeous spot, delicious food. Try to sit at the table with the globe light. Mood is perfection as the sun goes down.

Delicious local olive oil, pesto and focaccia

My friend and I stopped here for a few hours before getting on a train. Note: you have to travel up some stairs, which can be tough if you have heavy suitcases. Still, we had a great time relaxing in the sun and taking in the view of the coast. The bar and food was self-service when we went, but that was fine for us. We had some local prosecco and a plate of bread, olive oil & pesto. It was the perfect afternoon snack before our trip!

I've been to this place in summer and just loved it. Such a nice view and good food with affordable prices. So bad that we discovered this place only on the last day of our stay there. Can't wait to go back in here again!

We came in not knowing what to expect--whether it would feel overly touristy or genuinely authentic--but it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, especially traveling with our young daughter. The class itself was both fun and informative. The owner took the time to explain the history and importance of each fresh ingredient, which made the experience feel meaningful rather than just a cooking demo. What really set this apart was the atmosphere. It was interactive, relaxed, and genuinely joyful--we even found ourselves dancing with our daughter by the end. Enjoying freshly made pesto and burrata while overlooking one of the most stunning views in Cinque Terre made it unforgettable. A special thank you to Michael, who went above and beyond--answering all our questions and sharing great local recommendations, especially for swimming spots. If you're visiting Manarola, this is an absolute must-do experience.

The view alone is insane -- straight-up postcard-level Manarola cliffs and pastel houses glowing in the sun. And then there's the owner, whose energy could power half of Cinque Terre. He literally won this failing spot in a contest and turned it into a full-on experience. Locals may not love that he's a southerner who made it big, but honestly? He's built something incredible. The pesto class is a highlight. You learn exactly where every ingredient comes from, and you realize how tiny an amount of that super-strong garlic you actually need. And smashing basil by hand in a mortar and pestle? Way better than a blender -- you can taste the difference. After class, you're absolutely not leaving hungry. They load you up with wine and a charcuterie board that's basically a meal. And yes -- at some point, you will dance. It's just that kind of place. And the sign you pass on the way in? "Today is a good day to be happy." At Nessun Dorma, it really is.

Beef ravioli (€15) - Really really disappointing. It clearly tasted just like frozen ravioli with sauce likely from a can. In fact, I think most frozen ravioli I've gotten from grocery stores tastes better than this. What a shame. Steak (€36 for 260g) - It seemed like steak was this place's specialty, so I was hopefully this could redeem it from the ravioli... but I was wrong. For €36, I would have expected a high quality steak, but instead I got a very mediocre, kinda chewy steak that was of no higher quality than the cuts that I can buy from the grocery store. The owner is American (maybe with Italian heritage), but I still expected better from a place like this with the popularity and reviews that I saw. The interior of the restaurant is cozy without many tables (hence the line to get in). Bottom line is I think you are better off finding a different place to eat in Cinque Terre / Riomaggiore with actual good quality authentic Italian food.

I ordered a burger and beef ravioli ragu, and I have to say, the only reason this restaurant gets any business is because there are only five restaurants open in the area. They DO NOT serve fresh pasta. I asked the owner, who is from New Jersey, if the pasta was made in-house, and she told me it was "outsourced." She said the information was included in the menu but I did not see that. I personally watched the "chef" pour frozen pasta into the pot. To make matters worse, I was expecting pasta with actual meat sauce but was served plain red sauce that seemed like it came from a can. Dining here was a deeply disappointing experience. I would recommend not being fooled by their reviews and just choosing a place that has fresh food. The owner is also extremely cold and rude. There are hidden charges so beware. Make sure to ask about the food you are ordering and any hidden fees if you do choose to dine here.

This a great place to do a little wine tasting and to pick up some wine from the Cinque Terre region. One of the wines we sampled and immediately purchased was the Sciacchetra, a dry dessert wine produced only in the Cinque Terre. I'm not usually a fan of dessert wine, but I enjoyed the Sciacchetra. This wine is not exported out of the area due to the limited production quantity, so you should buy it if you are in the area. Vineria Santa Maria was one of the few places that allowed you to sample the wine for about 9 euro. They offered a bottle for about 33 euro and I noticed that this variety can easy go up to 60 to 80 euro per bottle. You can also purchase other varieties of white wine from Cinque Terre and the surrounding regions as well. If I ever find myself back in Vernazza, I will definitely stop in for more wine from Vineria Santa Maria.
