But in building our second home in 2011, we wanted a more experienced builder who could help us build our dream home. We had learned from our first experience and went into searching for a builder feeling well-educated in the process. After meeting with three high-end home builders, we ultimately chose Pecoy. Though their bid was not the lowest, we were impressed by the homes they toured us through and even more impressed when we checked references prior to making a final choice. From the first meeting with Kent and Suzanne, we felt reassured that they understood our needs and were committed to being partners in this process with us. Because both my husband and I have demanding jobs, our meetings were often in the evenings and on the weekends. Kent, Suzanne and the construction project manager, Don, always made themselves available to meet at times that were convenient for us. Both my husband and I exchanged literally hundreds of emails with both Suzanne and Don throughout the process, and both of them were extremely responsive. After 10 months we moved into a home that exceeded our expectations. Although we had our sights set on a particular style home, the Pecoy team made several recommendations along the way - and showed us examples of their recommendations in other homes they had built - which truly helped shape our vision. For example, they recommended expanding our garage to a three car garage which made for a massive family room above. With high ceilings, room enough for two sitting areas and a wet bar (a last-minute addition suggested by Suzanne), as well as a large space for the numerous toys and games our son uses daily, this room has become not only where our family spends most of our time together, but also a phenomenal entertaining space. We know first-hand that building a home can be stressful; however, this second and final experience building a home was an absolute pleasure. We found the quality of the people at the Pecoy offices as well as all of the tradesmen that worked directly on the house to be professional, skilled, and most importantly, passionate about what they do and how they do it. They all take a great deal of pride in their work. One thing I was particularly appreciative of was a call I received from Suzanne - not during the building process, but three months later. She was calling to ask how we were enjoying our new home. Our last invoice had been paid months prior, yet she was still providing such a high-level of customer service months after our build was complete. We have recommended Pecoy to two families who have also built homes. Both have raved about the experience and absolute love their homes.

Matthew came and looked at it and recommended a pressure treated fence to match the rest of the deck. He looked closely at it, took pictures and did an absolutely beautiful job. The entire process was remarkable in that, unlike others, Dave kept his appointments on schedule. He personally inspected the roof and delivered a review of his proposal in tremendous detail. He has a warehouse with all of the material he needed for my roof, so no excuses about shipping delays, cost escalations or backorders. He promised a mid May installation and actually came a week early. He even got the building permit from the Town, which some other contractors seem to forget. His crew was well-prepared, setting up tarps to keep the old roofing out of the shrubs and lawn, got the entire roof (36 squares) done by around 4:00 pm. Clean up was impeccable. New gutters were installed a few days later by very knowledgeable craftsmen who made some upgrades that were much appreciated. I have no hesitation to recommend Dave Miner for your roofing and gutter replacement project. It's refreshing to work directly with the owner of the company.

Austin came over soon after we made our request, gave us a fair quote, and began the first part of the repair soon after. The project was in two parts because part of the damage was under solar panels. So we paid for what he did, and stayed in touch as the installers weren't able to get to us for weeks. Final roofing work happened yesterday, and he also replaced two shingles that had fallen since he'd left (not his fault). Easy to communicate with, generally responded same day or next day. Would use again.

He took a look at the roof and gave me a price and repair date of the following afternoon. After we agreed on a price, things changed once he arrived. He added work without gaining approval first. In fact, we had told him in writing that the tenant might ask for more work to be done, but we were not authorizing it. He did it anyway and charged us. He was also not transparent about disposal fees until he was already on site and there wasn't much we could do about it. Not only did he lack transparency, but his overall professionalism was lacking. We had to ask, multiple times for an invoice for our records. The invoice terms stated Net 30 but he began harassing us to pay the invoice via text and email within hours of sending the invoice.
