I only had a sales guy give me a quote, I didn't have work done by them. Last year I was looking to get gutters installed and NESCOR happened to come by when I was looking for quotes so I set up an appointment. The sales rep came at our appointed time and I made sure to tell him that I am working from home, so I have some time, but I still need to work. He went out to take measurements then came back in to go over options. He had an entire presentation! I reminded him that I was working and he still stayed an hour and a half going over his ENTIRE presentation! (I know I should have kicked him out). He talked down to me. He bad-mouthed other companies and talked about why they were the one to go with. This included talking about how NESCOR's price is so much lower. Well, that back-fired on him. He theorized that what I wanted to would cost $17K with another company and I wouldn't want to pay that. He finally ran the numbers and it would cost $18K with NESCOR! I had already gotten 2 other quotes for $1,500 - $4K. I will never work with someone that will talk down to me. I told him that his quote was far higher than the others and he still tried to justify it. He did the hard sell tactic of "calling his boss" to get me interest free financing and some other BS deal. I told him they were too high. This experience was awful. And afterward I kept getting phone calls from them even after I spoke with the boss and told him the sales person was rude. Even today. I had asked them a few times to take me off of the list and they are still calling me. read more

Had lifetime warranty work done on my house......these people dodged me everytime I would try to get things done that was lifetime warranty on their products and workmanship. They are the worst business to do any work for you. My husband and I are older people and they deliberately lied to us telling us that the product that was used on my home was no longer made. Well......the distributor they used for the products they install sure as heck does still exist and everything that was used on my house still is made......they lie and they dodge you so that you will stop trying to get them to honor the commitment they make to you in their written contracts. As I look at their current rating it's more than obvious that others feel the same way.....they can run but they cannot hide......eventually when nobody does business with them we won't have to worry about them and their lies. The only way they will learn is when they are shut off from doing business. I suggest if you have already done business with this company that you contact consumer protection and the attorney general in your state. Once consumer protection is involved they are forced to adhere to their contracts. And if your attorney general is involved that's a little more push back on them......I urge you to contact both for the best results. If you have not yet done work and are researching them.....you've heard my story.....they were given one star because I wouldn't have been able to inform the good people of New England and elsewhere without rating......good luck to those fighting the fight with them..... read more

HUGE waste of my time and horrible business practices on the sales end NESCOR! Shame on this company. I entered in a contest to win a front door- which is probably a sham and only used for marketing. Once entered to the contest- the stalking began! I caved in an setup an appointment for a quote...BIG MISTAKE. The sales approach they use seems almost criminal. The guy talked forever (1.5 hours) and then only provided a verbal quote which started at 8k and went to 4k. When I asked him to write up his best offer he refused- BIG RED FLAG. Never work with any company that demands an on the spot agreement to a price. I repeatedly told the sales guy I need to think before I agree to the project. My own policy is 24 hours with a new company. He played all the used car salesman tricks (calling his "manager"). They use pressure tactics which always points to fraud in my view. If they had such a great product their sales approach wouldn't have to be so damn slimey. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! read more

What should have been a simple front door and storm door installation turned into a nightmare. I was quoted 4-8 weeks for order and delivery. 16 weeks later, with multiple unanswered messages and no updates, my doors are finally ready to be installed. The custom door size that was quoted and ordered was delivered in the wrong size, hence, we are waiting another 5-8 weeks for the correct door. Once the correct door arrived, it took another 3 weeks for their "repair" department to come and fix the gaps between the door and siding. Many phone calls for updates were never returned. No One answers their office phone. No one is accountable for what took so long, or why the wrong door size was ordered when they came back to measure it THREE times" to ensure they have it right". The service Manager Brian does not care about your time or the money you are spending with the company he represents. The finance department does not care about sending the correct documents, or actually completing the financing so you can start paying on your loan. This company is a JOKE. We ordered 2 windows one plant window and one reg window to replace another plant window. This was in Oct 2022. Its now April . few weeks ago they called and gave us 24 hrs to move and heavy bed out of the way of the wall. mind you we're in our 70"s with no one to help. Making a long story short. they came out someone ordered the wrong size window. So now it April 7. no windows. Feeling we got the wrong co. to purchase our windows. The product is good but the customer service and service department is lacking on making me feel like a satisfied customer. Again we had windows and sliding glass door installed. Overall good job and was satisfied. 6 months later or so we left multiple emails on their service site that stated what the issue was. It wasn't until I flied a complaint with bbb that I got a response. A few weeks later and tech comes out and I show him the problem. I explained to him the track trim always falls out but it shouldn't keep having to be reinstalled every few weeks. He took a mallet and reinstalled and then looked at my screen door. He ended up breaking the wheel on it and said they would fix it when they came back. Again go through multiple filed claims and not one call back. So then months later never heard back and did another bbb claim. I guess service manager got fired and messed things up. Well after a conversation with her she said she would get someone out to me once I sent pictures. We'll the email I sent out didn't work and so I went back to their customer service request. No response. Then I met two of their employees at a home and garden show and he expressed to me that he would personally take care of it. He gave me his number and I texted him all the pictures. Still no response from this company. Finally my wife receives a call, not sure why I didn't, but they give her another email and she shoots over a picture. Now we are in this waiting game. Maybe after a year we will get a trim piece and wheel for our screen door fixed. One of our windows is also now getting tough to latch. I'm terrified that this may take another year or so just to evaluate so I'd rather just keep dealing with it since I can trust this to be fixed. However the home depot Andersons that were installed by handy man are still holding up to a 10000 window system installed by people who this for a living.​ read more

Heavy handed sales. Quoted me 100k (for their "written" quote they'll honor for a while). He then verbally offered and rescinded a price just under 50k after a two hour sales pitch. Did everything he could to get me to sign something immediately. Every other quote I got for the same quality of product and work was 40-45k. Salesman started the conversation by saying that if my house were in the next town over it'd be 1mil+ (it sure isn't and wouldn't be). Clearly trying to take as much as he could from me after looking up my area and creepy details about me and my home He was also extremely condescending in telling me that the metal film they apply to their windows was the best thing around. Been waiting for windows since April of 2022. I was giving an install date of 7-29-22 to receive a cancellation call at 7am. It's been a complete waste of time. The poor elderly in the house with medical conditions, the children and dog are forced to suffer in the heat because they can't keep their commitments and they 100% could care less. The workers and the office don't communicate and are never on the same page you always get a different excuse. I could have gone with a different company and had the windows done months ago. I had Nescor install new replacement windows throughout my house. The installers did a fantastic job. The customer service is horrendous. Apparently my windows had a known defect yet they were installed by Nescor knowing of this defect (I was told this by one of their repair people). The defect affects the top sash. When you pull the top sash in to clean it the weatherstripping pulls out. Nescor replaced all the top sashes of the affected windows. It took them over 6 months to finally get this done. I then had another "unaffected" window with this issue. After another 6 months + of multiple phone calls and no return calls they finally came out to fix the Windows. The repair person called he morning and said he didn't have the proper components to fix the windows (this time they had to replace there windows not just the sashes as the Windows are now obsolete). The customer service person (Cindy) called and said the repair guy was wrong and they could fix it. Turns out he didn't have the right components and could only do a half-assed job and had to come back again. I then had one of the replaced sashes reoccur with the issue and after a year +, multiple phone calls, and multiple visits by Nescor my window is not fixed. Tried the BBB but they were of no help. Do Not Use this company for any improvements to your home! Update: After seeing Nescor's response I'm not surprised that they are trying to attack Yelp. The installers and original repair person I had were phenomenal. The current crop of customer service and repair people are horrible. They have no idea what they are doing. Additional Update 10/17/2018: I was told several months ago that my windows are no longer being manufactured and the only fix is to replace it now. Of course they will not honor the lifetime guarantee and want to charge me to replace it. They were looking into it as they already replace 2 other original windows with a different manufacturer at no charge. I have had nothing but excellent service from this company. I first dealt with them when I needed my roof replaced. I talked with several companies as I wanted to get a metal roof. The salesperson that came to my house spent most of his time discussing the technology of various types of roofing rather than trying to sell me something. Ended up giving me an excellent price quote and accommodated some special time restraints that I had. The installation (roof, extra large covered gutters and downspouts) was very quick and the crew were very professional and polite. Cleanup was excellent. I was so pleased with the roof installation that I had Nescor back to install some new windows in the basement and garage which were not replaced when new windows were installed in the house a few years earlier. The price was again excellent when compared to some estimates that I had gotten. The installation crew was again very professional and polite, and cleanup was great. With my previous positive experiences I again called Nescor when I wanted to replace three entry doors to the house. Their price was again very competitive and I chose them. The doors were special ordered so there was a wait for them to be manufactured. The installation crew was as expected, professional, polite and excellent cleanup. There was a problem that developed during the first month after the installation with one of the storm doors and the sweep of one of the main doors. Adjustments were made to the storm door and a special sweep was ordered for the door with the problem which was installed when received. I also had a vapor barrier installed in the attic which has done an excellent job of stabilizing the temperature and humidity levels in the attic which contributes to the overall efficiency of the heating and cooling system of the house. I am very pleased with the service and prices for the work that Nescor has performed on my home. I would recommend them without reservation. read more

I had 179 ft of gutters installed on a Cape house and two entry doors with storm doors installed. Previous owner did not install gutters which led to the damage to the entry doors. The storm doors had retractable screens. Their products and installation are top-notch. Everything comes with a Lifetime Guarantee. Extremely pleased and will be hiring them to install basement windows and update attic insulation with their special heat reflective covering (don't know if I have that description right). What a monumental waste of time. My spouse scheduled an appointment to get an estimate to take care of our roof. He had entire list of questions to be answered by the NESCOR representative, basically the same list that is being posed to all vendors invited to quote. I was not present during the initial greeting as I was taking care of other household items elsewhere. After the representative did a review outside, he returned to the house. NESCOR's representative asked that I, the spouse, participate in the conversation. I had no intention of sitting through a sales pitch where I truly had no other questions to ask. I paused my other activities to ask what questions he had for me and he said he had none but he wanted "to educate me." I told him I would get what I needed from my spouse. I would give zero stars if possible. I told the rep exactly what I wanted and he dismissed my requests immediately. He then went through some of his pitch and I had to stop him and ask him to leave after his third blatant lie. 1st Lie: Their windows are the ONLY windows that are allowed to be installed by licensed contractors in the state of Alaska. Yes, he said the whole state of Alaska is required to buy their windows by state mandate if installed by a licensed professional. 2nd Lie: Their windows will drop my energy usage by 50%. Every independent study I have looked at says around 12% for the best windows on the market. They are not even in the same ballpark. 3rd Lie: The company used to offer a guarantee that if the windows did not show a reduction of 50% of energy usage they would reimburse the customer the difference. Maybe this is true but I have no way of knowing. What the lie was is that the rep said they could no longer offer this because of regulations imposed by the Obama administration. I am pretty sure the government does not regulate the pricing structure of independent window companies. Nescor, this is obviously all things you train your reps to say. Shame on you for relying on fabricated sales facts to sell your overpriced windows. If any of these statements are true, please provide me with some documentation and I will be happy to update my review. We had new windows installed by NESCOR. We are so Dissatisfied with the service. Our salesman sold us on how good they are, and I do like the windows, if they all worked properly. My husband and I are so stressed out over this situation. After they installed the window, 3 screens were damaged before install. The installers took photos and said they would get them ordered. We had to call and get that straightened out as they never reordered the screens. then after a few weeks, we could not LOCK some of the windows. now after several people came out to measure and look at the window, numerous calls, text from 6 different people, NESCOR does not want to honor their warranty. someone who is higher up says they are within spec., so he will not replace 3 window that have misshaped frames causing a gap and they won't lock... It's been one thing after another, won't return calls, tell you one thing and do another... BUYER BEWARE... we still have an open permit, and we just want our windows to work the way they should. I was looking to install a new entry door to connect my backyard to the house. I submitted a request for an estimate online through Angie's List. I received a text message the next day asking if I requested a quote for a roofing project. I explained the job I was actually looking for and received a phone call soon after that. The conversation was professional and helpful to start. I explained that I am currently in a long term rental (3+ years) and have permission from the home-owners to start looking for estimates to get this work done and that the project will be ultimately approved by the owners prior to starting work. I was told that Nescor doesn't work with renters and would not do any work on rental properties. My problem wasn't with this policy but with the tone of the conversation from there. Any further questions asked at that point were met with a rude and dismissive attitude and the conversation ended soon thereafter. Customer service is everything and based on today's experience, I will take this and future business elsewhere. An agent came to quote gutters. The agent then did a hard sell sales pitch for gutter guards which we repeatedly told him we were not interested. He kept selling. The first price he gave was ridiculously high. After pushing back he gave a lower price indicating the first price was dishonest. After the second pushback we got the used car salesman trick of "if you decide now" which was about half the first quote. So these people overprice by 100%. DO NOT use this company. NESCOR hires incompetent people. Dave, the measurer cannot measure correctly, so they "had to" make the door fit. The scheduler does not understand construction enough to schedule proper time. I took work off for a door installation, but they didn't show because they didn't properly schedule the job before mine. The "3 hour" job took 2 days. They didn't cleanup or put back things, like my flag holster that was removed. Mike spent more time smoking and watching Omar work than anything else. Smoking, in front of me, a cancer patient. Nails were half driven in. I expressed by unhappiness, but they put no effort to make things right. I had a great experience with Nescor! I've been needing new gutters for a while, my old gutters were faulty and insufficient and pulling away at my fascia board so after multiple quotes from other companies I decided on Nescor! I got an appointment very quickly, same week, at a super convenient time and day of my choosing. My salesman Roberto Morales showed up at 6:00 per my wishes. He sat with me on my couch and showed me pictures and product samples and answered all of my questions very thoroughly, until 9:00 at night. After much back and forth, I decided to get the gutters especially since they have a pretty great finance program, 6 months no interest and no payments! Within days, a crew was at my house bright and early, installing the gutters and was done by about 2:00 that day. The crew was very respectful and efficient and hard-working. I got solid gutters with a lifetime warranty, which includes gutter guards too! My house looks great, thanks guys! read more

I had beautiful (or so it seems) doors installed in April. My first issue, crooked hardware, was immediately rectified. However there are a host of production/installation issues that I have spent the last 6 months trying to have taken care of, to no avail. I should have just replaced my doors with Andersen's as i could have replaced them every few years for the rest of my life for the cost I paid NESCOR. One small gust of wind, the hinge pulled out, my screen/window frame is not square on my front door, my weather stripping is sliding out on both exterior doors, I have sharp ridges around the screen on my back exterior door.....I am disgusted. read more

I have to give Nescor one star due to what I believe are dishonest business practices. First their door-to-door associate came to our house and claimed to have some type of affiliation with the department of energy (DOE). So I signed up for a free home energy assessment to identify ways to save energy. They said it would take 1 hour but in reality it took 2.5 hours because the guy would not stop talking, and rattled off one sales pitch after another. Our house is pretty small and did not have many issues, so it is ridiculous for the assessment to take that long. Afterwards, I looked over the papers that they left, and there is no mention of any affiliation with the DOE. I can see online that they are not listed as a partner of the DOE. If anyone reading this does want to have a proper home energy assessment done, you can find the DOE's official partners here: http://energy.gov/eere/buildings/home-energy-score-partners The worst issue of all is that after the assessment, Nescor's sales associate aggressively tried to sell us on their reflective insulation. They wanted over $4300 to install it in our attic. Reflective insulation is also known as a radiant barrier. It consists of a fairly thin layer of reflective metal, which prevents radiant heat transfer . He claimed that this alone would save us at least 25% on our electric bill. Of course, that is ridiculous. Again I checked the DOE's website because they are a great resource for learning about energy conservation and related issues. Here is a quote straight from the DOE: "Some studies show that radiant barriers can reduce cooling costs 5% to 10% when used in a warm, sunny climate." (from here: http://energy.gov/energysaver/articles/radiant-barriers). So that is a maximum benefit of 5-10% of your cooling costs. On an annual basis you would only save around 1.25% of your total electricity costs (assuming that you use the AC for 3 months of the year, and during those months the AC accounts for 50% of your electric bill). No thanks, Nescor. I'll keep my $4300. Too bad I can't get back those 2.5 hours of my life. Last bit of information: there is a trade association for manufacturers of reflective insulation. Worst experience with a salesman I've ever had. While he was at my house, he shared with me that he and his wife are both doctors who live in a beautiful seaside town, deep in the woods. He gave me the square footage of his home, which was a few times the size of mine, and after looking around at my modest home, said in a very condescending manner, "I can tell you're a person who is very budget conscious." He bragged about all his schooling and degrees (yet 30 minutes earlier couldn't figure out that his GPS had stopped him in front of the wrong house.) I realized that this guy thinks he is better than me and is trying to make sure I think it too. He started his sales pitch, which was more of a pre-recorded dissertation than an informative conversation. When I interrupted him to ask a question, he snapped, "I'm getting there if you let me finish!" So I just let him drone on for the next hour, feverishly flipping pages in his presentation guide before I could read what was written on them, repeatedly saying "I'm trying to educate you." He told me that their stone coated steel shingles were the best thing on the market, and insinuated that if I had any sense, this is the only thing I would put on my house. After he left, I went online and pulled the street card to his house (he gave me enough personal info to find it) and I found he himself has the very same asphalt shingles that he told me were a piece of crap. Oh that's right, I remembered, he did mention that he was "saving his shekels" to buy this roof. Yes, folks, thats how expensive the darn things are. A doctor with a house valued over half a million dollars and a part time job working for the company still needs to save up before he can afford them. After he was at my house for 2 hours, I had to ask him to hurry it along because I had plans. He used his tone of voice and facial expressions to let me know he was extremely displeased with that request. He finished the presentation with the sulky attitude of a bratty teen, dutifully thanked me for the beverage and new accessory I gave him for his phone (he had the model I recently upgraded from) and left, putting me out of my misery. It was 2 1/2 hours of my life I will never get back, but I was so glad it was over. I will never call this company again, and I will absolutely share this miserable experience. Oh! Before I forget - those positive customer reviews you see on their website - they paid for them. He offered me a discount of a couple hundred dollars if I was willing to make a positive marketing statement. read more

On June 9, 2022 Nestor came to our home to discuss a bay window. We gave a $2,381 deposit and on June 9th when they measured another deposit of $2,381 was given to them with the promise of a delivery date of Aug./Sept. Late Sept. we were called with a delivery date of Dec. 2. In November we were called again with a date of Jan. 4th. Late December we received a phone call saying the delivery was changed to March 14. Last week we received an email stating no delivery date available. The company will not admit they cannot deliver the window nor will they refund the money. We are being held hostage. How long is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a product? I feel this is extremely unreasonable. So...if you are not in a hurry and don't care if your money is tied up or ever get the product, then go right ahead...otherwise you might want to call someone else. I stated it wasn't $2700, but askied how come they could bring it down $1600? I was threatened if they walked out of my house it would go back up to $4700. Unsatisfactory Installation, zero customer service and clearly out to scam people. I would not reccomend Nescor to my worst enemy. These guys ruined my gardens, destroyed parts of my siding and installed my roof in a sub-par manner. windows are great. costumer service not so much. we signed contract around Nov said to get installation for April actual installation was around June and that happened only because i called in April after the date they gave us didn't happen. no one called us to let us know a delay or change in our install date. when finally installed they forgot one window and the installers had no idea about the last window. I had to once again reach out to the company to find out. then was told would be longer for the window because it was a special type of glass. after that never heard from the company again. I called all summer long was told I would get a call back due to them always being in a meeting. yet would never get a call back I would have to call constantLu to finally get through to some one and was told the window came in but was dropped at the wate house and broke so I had to wait longer for the window. fast foward to now end of October was told I was finally getting the last window installed October 24 between 8am 10am no one showed up no call. I reached out at 10:30 was told there was no install appointment set in the system. that they was in a meeting and to call back at 11:30 I called back then was told they was on a call that I would be foward to voice mail and that they would also email the person and that I would get a call back. like always no call back. I called this morning same thing leave a message and they would send an email and red flag it so that I would get a call back. I held off on making this review giving this company a chance and they just continue to fail in costumer service. we are paying for the windows when the work isn't done. this is why I don't recommend this compan. and why I didn't use nescor for the other windows in my house. we went with the company power which there costumer service from beginning to end was wonderful. I wrote a review a while back but I'm happy to reiterate. They were idiots who refused to give me a quote on what I wanted done, instead trying to steer me toward expensive options I neither wanted nor needed. Very unprofessional. And every so often when I was firm in my intentions, they kept asking if my boyfriend would be joining us, even after I had made it clear that it was I who had purchased the property, I who was hiring any and all contractors. My "boyfriend" (I had told them already that he may move in at a later date) had neither a stake in the project nor any money to finance it. The fellow went outside to talk to his supervisor and tried again to sell me nonsense I didn't want. This time, with a binder of previous jobs. I actually had to tell him to put his glossy pics away. When I asked him to leave, out came more sales pitch. I had to TELL him to leave. Forcefully. Horrible people. Unscrupulous. read more
