Seems to have gone down hill over the years. They've changed the name and got rid of some menu options. They also have less and less options then before. It's okay, but they assign where you sit and don't come by very often. It's not as good as it used to be.

I have never been to a restaurant and disliked every dish I had. The quality and freshness of sushi at Rockin' Rolls was horrid. I let so many sushi rolls pass by because they looked like they had been circulating for hours. The seaweed salad was just thrown across the plate and looked picked over. The sushi to rice ratio was atrocious. Many pieces had paper thin pieces of fish sitting on a handful of rice. NONE of the sushi that came around looked appetizing except the spicy salmon which is the only sushi I was able to eat. The miso soup came from an automatic dispenser and it was bland and gross. I also tried the hibachi menu as the sushi wasn't even an option for me. For the shrimp hibachi, they serve you basically baby salad shrimp with the tail still on. The fried rice wasn't that great either. The only redeemable item from the menu were the fried chicken wings. They were surprisingly pretty good. The conveyer belt doors were also dirty and should be deep cleaned. Service was okay. With that being said, this is the cheapest AYCE sushi & hibachi place I have come across (less than $40 for two people) and you definitely get what you pay for. Wouldn't recommend unless you just want wings, only way it would be worth it.

This is very a cool concept! The sushi comes around on a conveyor belt behind a glass door, and you grab as many and as much as you want. There are all types of sushi options! They are creative in the types and name them after cities in Va. they also have salad, cucumbers, edamame, desserts and seaweed. If you don't want those options, you can order from a monitor at the table that has options like wings, fries, rice, veggies and protein--steak or chicken. Staff will come by periodically to collect the plates. Customers will pile the plates sky high as some time of show or badge of honor.

well this was terrible. the best part for me was the miso soup machine lol. service was super nice and they have gluten free options but the quality is just horrible, which i guess you get what you pay for. the edamame was frozen cold, sushi was stale and lukewarm. i was worried i was going to get food positing from this! the wonder of how long the sushi has been on that belt! the idea is so fun but i mean its a scary possibility of contamination and not adhering to food safety regulation - like everyone's glass doors were always open (they say not to do that but obviously people will do it anyway) . there was no salad for the dressing either. i am definitely not coming back here. just a reminder that cheap sushi is just not worth it

Cool experience. The conveyor belt delivery system was neat. The options were somewhat basic. They do have a digital menu at each table that you can order from if the conveyor belt doesn't feed your hunger.

The sushi selection is not up to the level of Kura Sushi. Additionally the taste of the items was lackluster. They didn't season the rice at all. So I'll give them a C+. The place was clean and the price was a little bit higher considering the limited menu. The service was adequate. Beyond that I recommend trying one and then move on. Would I come back? Not likely.

Being SF transplants, we miss our sushi boat restaurants and I'm glad Raleigh has a conveyor belt option now. Arrived around 2:15pm, which means I caught them just before lunch service closed at 3pm. So keep this in mind when I say the fried sushi was not as fresh as one would like, but everything was pretty gosh darned tasty and service was kind. The value is definitely there, as you can order apps and entrées from the screen, while picking out what you like from the peripatetic menu items gliding by. Another plus is that you have all the sauces available along the drink bar area should you wish for more. The only dessert I liked was the 'cheesecake.' Others were dry and not worth finishing...but hey, money *not* wasted. Don't like it? Don't eat it. Vegetarians do have enough options to make the all-you-can-eat worthwhile: seaweed salad, cucumber salad, edamame, miso soup, fried rice and stir-fried hibachi vegetables, veggie tempura, French fries, spring rolls, avo-cuke and various other veg-only rolls, as well as desserts.

We love the experience at rockin roll both the Raleigh and Durham locations. The conveyer belt style makes it a fun and unique dining experience. There is a sauce bar area with many options as well as a station for miso soup. Aside from sushi it's also all you can eat hibachi, appetizers, desserts, and their is a kid menu. You order these items on the tablet and they are brought to your table. Don't skip on the chicken the wings and skewers are so good! Expectations are important. Don't come in expecting top tier sushi it's honestly a step above grocery store sushi. The rolls are simple and the plate portions are small. It's more about the bang for your buck and it's such a fun vibe. Great spot to bring family and friends. There is something for everyone. If higher quality all you can eat sushi is what you're searching for check out Mr. Tokyo. More upscale experience at around the same price point. Bigger rolls means more filling so are far as all you can eat goes expect to eat a lot less. I highly recommend both. I personally prefer rockin roll because I love the comfortable casual atmosphere and we have had amazing service every time!

$18 all you can eat. Sushi is not bad and not great either. Quality of sushi better than your local grocery stores or Chinese buffet. There are some variety and they don't use filler like cream cheese , but there are not a lot of meat. They have to keep the cost low some how. You can order extra appetizer and hibachi, those portion is kinda small and I didn't try it. This is not a true conveyer sushi restaurant, there is no hot water dispenser at your table and the setup is not Japanese. It is still a fun place for family or you need a lot of calories. There are signs of "don't waste food" everywhere, so remember not to waste food just because it is all you can eat.

    Bar area for small parties.

The cost is $17.99 per person. The experience is cool especially with friends. The sushi is okay. I would compare it to grocery store quality. If you are sitting at the beginning of the conveyer belt it is good, but if you are at the end there can be very few of the better options. There are no servers. You order any extra appetizers and entrees on a tablet and then there is a drink and sauce area that you fill up for yourself.

What a great experience!!! Great place to go for someone who has never had sushi before. It's great that it's all you can eat and you can try different types of rolls. Also enjoyed the great selection of appetizers and other dishes that are included in the price. The conveyer belt makes it even more fun! Such a fun, laid back atmosphere!

My mom and I decided to check out Rockin' Rolls Sushi for lunch last week and had a great time! For the price and all that you get, wow, this is one of the best deals on sushi that I have found! So, it is unlimited sushi for $14 for lunch. A drink is extra, but they do give you a free cup for water. Next to the drink section are all of the sauces that you could ever as for. Plus trays to take them to your table. The sushi is on this cool conveyor belt that runs throughout the restaurant. At each table are two sliding doors that gets you access to the sushi. The title of the rolls and a short description are in front of each roll. You can grab as many rolls as you want. Every roll we had, especially the Kani roll, were delicious! You can tell they are freshly made and just so yummy! In addition to the rolls there is also a screen where you can order appetizers and hibachi--all which is included in the price! So, you get sushi as well as hibachi with your cost! Wow! Of course with sushi I got full so fast, but I got to try ten different rolls between my mom and I! Definitely recommend this spot!

The rolls looked pretty nice when they came out -- colorful with different toppings, sauces drizzled on top, and some green onions. The fish tasted fresh enough and the rice was okay, not too hard or mushy. But honestly, the flavors were just average. Some rolls were a bit too sweet from the sauce, others a little salty from the roe. It was creative, but nothing that really blew me away. The place has a nice warm wooden table vibe and the lighting is good for photos. Service was quick, no long wait. Price-wise, it felt a little expensive for Durham -- four rolls and we weren't super impressed with the value. It was fine for a casual meal, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back just for the sushi. Might try something else next time or their omakase to see if it's better.

The conveyor belt had a decent selection with plenty to choose from, I enjoyed what I had, nothing that blew me out of the water, but solid for the price. Hot appetizers ordered through their tablet were also enjoyable and worth it for the value. The hibachi entrées, however, were a letdown. My protein was dry, and while I get that most people probably come here for sushi, the other menu items shouldn't feel like an afterthought. Service-wise, we were seated in a corner near the bathroom, a "blind spot" where staff can't see the table directly. Plates started piling up fast, and eventually we had to flag someone at the register to clear them. The manager came over right away, was genuinely apologetic, and took care of it. While I understand that it's the dinne rush, I still want to make the point that we didn't just have a few plates, it got to the point where we barely had room to eat. For tables in blind spots, there needs to be more attention from the staff so things don't get that backed up. The ambiance isn't terrible in other parts of the restaurant, but sitting in a blind spot feels awkward, especially when your view is a shelf stacked with cardboard boxes. Overall, I want to rate it between 3-4 stars, but Yelp doesn't really give that option. The value is there, especially for Fayetteville, but there's room for improvement in both food consistency and service attentiveness.
