No protections on the glasses on both sliding doors when breaking up the old concrete
    Cindy S.

we hired Nelson for backyard patio, pathway and the drive way back in May 2019. He broke the cable line while tearing the driveway when we were away on Memorial long weekend. The internet company advised on the damage of the cable due to the work on drive way and request us to bear the underground pipe. Upon attempting to contact Nelson regarding to fix this problem, he didn't reply to my voice message and only said that he will take care of it in text message and kept asking for money to order the concrete work. He said that he will do everything when the cement was poured. However, on the day of the concrete pour, his workers were sent first and they didn't know about laying the pipe down for the cable nor the work that was discussed to be done. When Nelson finally showed up around noon, he asked me to give him the check and rushed to cash out the money. During the breaking of the old cement work in my backyard, there was no protections on my sliding glass door nor window. I had to thank God that the flying pieces didn't shatter my glasses or windows. The cement splash on my sidings, newly installed garage door and my water hose was left without attempting to clean up by the workers. When contacting Nelson for the follow up work including smoothing out the uneven level between the old concrete to the new concrete by the front entrance and a broken piece on the new path way, he had not shown up many times throughout the Summer that he promised to show up to fix. He did not show up nor did he send a message letting us know that he wouldn't be able to make it every since June to September. I had sent message to ask him to come and finished up the work this week. He first told me to come on Tuesday, then sent message on Tuesday afternoon that it rained too hard. I asked him to come on Thursday or Friday. He replied by on Thursday morning that he would come on Friday at 9am and get it done. It's Friday at 12:40pm and I had left him many text messages and voice mail to ask him for show up time and still got no reply. This is not acceptable business practice to keep cancelling and leaving me waiting for a whole day without anyone showing up.

This "contractor" took a down payment and then failed to do the work specified in the contract.

I wish I could give negative stars for this business and its owner. After insisting on being paid…read more1/2 up front for the job, they essentially set down a wooden frame for the concrete and left - never to return. After collecting our payment Jason called at the last minute to say they couldn't return on the promised day because of a conflict on his part. We rescheduled for two weeks layer because we were out of town the next week. They never showed up and ignored text messages. When we finally got to speak with him almost 4 weeks later, he kept rudely talking over the top of my husband, yelling that it was our fault because we were out of town on that ONE day, then eventually he hung up on us. When we asked for a return of the funds if he had no intention of doing the work he kept insisting that he knows his rights and that we'd be wasting out time in court. He also let us know that (and I quote) "You are not a priority for me". I'd think that you taking my money makes me a prioritybut what do I know. On further examination of the small print on his contract, he does insert language that says he can take your money and do nothing. Buyer beware- this is outright fraud!!!

I would not recommend Jason Pachenker or Able Concrete to anyone. There were some red flags from…read morethe start that I should have listened to. Once underway, the workmanship was extremely poor. Jason wanted to skip using rebar and use only concrete that was fiber-reinforced. I said no, rebar is a must. Everything was an argument with this guy. Jason eventually demanded payment for work he hadn't done yet. When I said no, he left my project screaming obscenities and never came back. After a couple weeks I told him that if he didn't come back I consider it that he abandoned my project. I mailed him Breach of Contract documents. I ended up having to hire someone else to complete the job. The other crew laughed at Jason's formwork and said they doubted it would have held the concrete pour without rupturing. Search for Jason's prior company Knuckle Down Concrete - all horrible reviews and it looks like the Department of Labor and Industries shut it down. Looks like he also runs a possibly illegal pitbull breeding company. Don't trust this guy. Don't give him any of your money.
