I found Mike and his crew extremely professional. Followed what he promised and did a great job with designing the project.

I am very, very happy with the new patio Jose and team installed. They are an excellent company to…read morework with for the following reasons: QUALITY - paver layout is beautiful, & they installed extra gravel & drainage pipes to address my "swamp" COMMUNICATION - I always knew exactly what was happening, when the workers/trucks would be here. Before work began, Jose responded promptly to my requests for changes in design, gave detailed drawings &estimates PRICE - it was a very fair price, and lower than the other bid I got for a simple rectangular design DESIGN - my requirements were a bigger patio that covers up the swamp. Jose came up with a plan that has curves to fit in well with the curves in my existing landscape, plus the swamp is gone! He gave me advice on which sizes of pavers would work well in the design. PROFESSIONALISM - every day the team was on time and left the area cleaned up. They laid and re-laid pavers until they were satisfied with the look. They spent a lot of time leveling and fixing places where water pooled on my lawn/old patio. They improved the downspout drains and crawlspace vents. Call them for your project, you'll be glad you did!

After 2 years living in our Issaquah rambler, we were tired of our grubby back yard. With a very…read moresloping hillside slumping into it, the constant roll of rocks, and puddling of runoff made the space not very enjoyable. Our small deck, and a big dirt patch was also not a clean or functional space for us or our dog - so it was time for a change. Once we set our minds to investing in a renovation, I met with 7 (yes 7!) concrete, rockery, and paver providers to discuss the projected heat their ideas, and solicit quotes. A number of the providers were visionless, one was rude, and another was wildly expensive (twice as much as any of the others). Enter Jose and J Zamora Construction. While my initial vision for the space was admittedly to have a concrete patio, with a paver retaining wall - after meeting with Jose, my mind changed. In the most genuine and non-pressuring tone possible, he educated me about the benefits of using pavers (repairability, less cracking risk, better drainage, etc). That, combined with both his understanding of the challenges of my property, as well as his unique lense on a design for our space - made Jose a stand out. I also greatly appreciated that when I expressed specific wishes, he did not take offense when those ideas didn't align with his initial recommendation. When some providers acted put-off when I said "I don't want to take out this tree" (etc.), Jose took it in stride and offered solutions rather than trying to convince me that my preference was unreasonable. After viewing our property, he was prompt, kind, and fair in his quote to us. His documentation was thorough and clear. That, along with his truly aesthetically, and functionally minded vision for our space convinced me to completely pivot from "I'm doing concrete", to "let's go with pavers". After hiring Jose, he recommended products that suited our combined vision for my yard, was transparent about potential overages, and ultimately executed a project that is beyond my dreams for our difficult space. His crew of 6 busted their behinds for 4 solid days to crack it out. They were prompt, respectful of my property and neighbors; and thorough in their daily, and end of project cleanup. They even went above and beyond to carefully re-lay our dog's invisible fence line, which was displaced in the underground drainage portion of our project. Ultimately, we're left with the addition of nearly 1000 square feet to our livable space. An area that started as a grubby dirt patch has become a clean and stunning use of space. It flows with the natural landscape, and looks cohesive with our very mid century home. We have had neighbors (known to us and new introductions) stop by with their jaws on the floor - one even saying "you've made this yard the showpiece of the mountain". Once we paint the house - our sweet little rambler will be perfection - and we have Jose to thank for so much of our exterior transformation. Other over the top service notes: -Rock disposal recycling run -Bark delivery after project completion -Spreading bark over worn front yard after completion

I would describe the last 9 weeks as nothing short of a horrific nightmare experience at the hands…read moreof 4 Sons Concrete and Landscaping, also known as Nelson's Concrete Mason Design. Learn from us, don't trust or hire this company and the owner. Safe yourself the pain, money and extra money you'll need to fix their "work". Nelson Tatufu bid it as "three week job." We called them off the job on week 9 and with ZERO confidence in them to do any work or make any repairs without causing more problems and/or damage. The below is only a small representation of the issues we are now facing. Bids to fix all the damage that was done is currently at 10k and counting to our yard, house and brand new fence. Concrete -Concrete was poorly poured, lines are not straight and sloppy "patches" that don't match were poured to cover up previous mistakes. -House, fence, driveway and yard are splattered with concrete. -Concrete ramp connecting to sidewalk is too steep. -Dog run areas - which should look the same - have different gap spacings. Decking -Do not believe them when they say they can build anything for you. They can't do concrete, let alone a building project. -Deck was poorly measured and did not line-up with our request. It is wider than we asked for and that resulted in contractor sawing a hole in a window box that should have never been touched to accommodate the railing. The cut was so sloppy that it exposed the interior of our walls. -Mr. Tatufu's crew re-used old boards that had been used previously as concrete forms as the supporting structure for our new deck. -Support beams and stair stringer were not pressure treated wood so they would never last in wet, Seattle weather. Plus, they were already cracked with chunks of wood falling off them. -The deck boards were damaged with numerous misplaced and removed screws. -The deck boards did not feel firm under the feet because they had not been properly secured to the base. Also, the base wasn't secure. -Loose sections of railings have already fallen off the deck. Very dangerous situation! -New railings are scratched and damaged do the crew leaving them out, and throwing them around for weeks. -Railings along both deck and stairs are loose with missing bolts and very unsafe. -Railings on stairs are not lined up with each other and one side is longer than the other resulting in a loose handrail that is unsafe. -Countless, uneven, jagged, saw cuts on deck enclosure. Other Issues -Removed a fruit tree without our permission just so they could park their truck. -House siding was damaged with tape residue, screws and staples. Screws and staples are still covering the fence and house siding. House will need to be repainted. -Fence gates were removed and re-installed not in-line with the fence. -Fence sections were removed and left leaning against walls resulting in fence board bending and looking awful. -Gate latch re-installed upside-down after removal. -Post cap missing from fence post. -Contractor dismantled outdoor tortoise enclosure area without permission and are lucky to have not killed the tortoise. -Constantly late and frequent cancellations even after asking us to block off street parking for multiple days in a row. -Artificial turf is not properly secured in many areas, and the cuts are almost comical how horrible they are. -Kept asking for more money beyond the initial agreement. -Caused more damage and issues every time their crew came to "fix" past issues. -Complete lack of care taken with our house and yard. The mess is unimaginable. -Nelson brought his children multiple days to the job site, and they were here well past 10pm and asked to use our house multiple times for water, bathroom breaks. They could be found laying in the yard among the mess of the job site. Completely unsafe and a huge liability. Heard enough? Get a load of the photos, it is what nightmares are made of.

He has terrible communication and frankly lies directly to you. I will attach pictures of our "finished" driveway because the pictures speak for themselves. The white discoloration is permanent, they ruined our front door with sealer, did not pay any attention to details. An awful experience. We paid another contractor to come and fix the things Nelson didn't do properly. Very disappointed that someone can take that much money from us and not give an amazing product in return.

After insisting on being paid…read more1/2 up front for the job, they essentially set down a wooden frame for the concrete and left - never to return. After collecting our payment Jason called at the last minute to say they couldn't return on the promised day because of a conflict on his part. We rescheduled for two weeks layer because we were out of town the next week. They never showed up and ignored text messages. When we finally got to speak with him almost 4 weeks later, he kept rudely talking over the top of my husband, yelling that it was our fault because we were out of town on that ONE day, then eventually he hung up on us. When we asked for a return of the funds if he had no intention of doing the work he kept insisting that he knows his rights and that we'd be wasting out time in court. He also let us know that (and I quote) "You are not a priority for me". I'd think that you taking my money makes me a prioritybut what do I know. On further examination of the small print on his contract, he does insert language that says he can take your money and do nothing. Buyer beware- this is outright fraud!!!

I would not recommend Jason Pachenker or Able Concrete to anyone. There were some red flags from…read morethe start that I should have listened to. Once underway, the workmanship was extremely poor. Jason wanted to skip using rebar and use only concrete that was fiber-reinforced. I said no, rebar is a must. Everything was an argument with this guy. Jason eventually demanded payment for work he hadn't done yet. When I said no, he left my project screaming obscenities and never came back. After a couple weeks I told him that if he didn't come back I consider it that he abandoned my project. I mailed him Breach of Contract documents. I ended up having to hire someone else to complete the job. The other crew laughed at Jason's formwork and said they doubted it would have held the concrete pour without rupturing. Search for Jason's prior company Knuckle Down Concrete - all horrible reviews and it looks like the Department of Labor and Industries shut it down. Looks like he also runs a possibly illegal pitbull breeding company. Don't trust this guy. Don't give him any of your money.
