I had the pleasure today of shopping here. I have to say the customer service was top notch! Marianna was friendly, and beyond helpful in helping us to find a gift that was just perfect. She took the time to help and was so nice. Jon in the men's department was charming and knowledgable about the gifts. Then to round out our visit Daniel at the fossil counter was amazing and so helpful. I can honestly say in a time when customer service is not a priority for most stores these employees made our visit and made us want to come back. They deserve to be acknowledged. read more

What a wonderful store, the customer service I received from all of the female sales associates was really lovely. I am a fashion student that had been exploring local stores to compare and contrast for my fashion retail class. Thus when I entered Neiman Marcus it was obvious that I was not in my price range. Despite this all the female associates that I spoke to helped answer any of my questions and treated me with respect and warmth. I had been over at Nordstrom prior to compare and contrast and received horrible service, I was ignored and treated like a pariah, someone who clearly was unable to shop at so grand a store (even though Nordstrom is in my price range). My only complaint is that although the female associates were all very polite the males were less then, one almost ran me over and the others completely ignored me the entire time I was on their floor, so theres that. The woman on the couture gowns level was absolutely wonderful and answer all my questions. read more

"Needless Markup" is what I call it! We purchased a St. John suit for mom for my brothers wedding. We needed an alteration and were told that we would have the suit back in 2 weeks. We had to come back to the store 4 times until they finally got it right! We kept hearing excuses about why the suit wasn't ready in time. Good quality product, good in store service but awful alteration service. Nerve racking!!! My mom and I will never go back. They gave us a box of chocolates to make up for the inconvenience but to little too late. read more

Halleluya! I will only review the accessories department at Neiman's. That's why I give it 4 stars. The rest of it, I can't afford full price, but when it goes on sale, it becomes the dreaded "last season" so I don't want to buy it any way, no matter how cheap it is. When Chloe goes on sale, or they mark down Nina Ricci, I might as well have gotten it from the thrift shop on Sacramento. But, ladies (and gentlemen), the custom jewelry (specifically Badgley Mischka) is simply stunning. Other unusual pieces are very nice black jewelry (forgot the name, but they are ornate black necklaces in the back of the store, by the scarves section). So, I can pair them with a Banana Republic sweater and voila - multo bella. I don't know what Heidi C is talking about. You clearly get what you pay for. There is a reason things get discounted. Pay full price and get the real thing. And please stop cursing. Obviously she is very upset, but instead of talking to the management who could possibly help her with her dilemma, she is spending time venting on the internet. How was that going to help, I don't know. In any case, go in, get a gorgeous faux necklace and you'll be very chic. And - if you can't afford it, don't buy it dirt cheap. read more

i've gone to other neimans, but this is the one where customer services sucks ass..... not one person asked if i wanted to try something on in the shoe department, they all (10 people) just stared and talked to one another i did find someone at the fendi counter area that was nice, but that was on my way OUT of the store... sucks.... cuz you really should be nice to everyone. you never know what they are going to buy read more

For the fashionista, this is the happiest place on earth! Even my teenage son loves this store. He checks out the men's fragrances (Creed being his personal fav). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. And when they have a sale, well, let me tell you, it's designer fashion heaven! Plus, their selection is amazing (something the Palo Alto store could take a lesson from). Last week, they were previewing items for a designer truck show and had some gorgeous stuff on preorder. Rarely seen Prada bags (with a hefty price tag to match), and saliva-inducing Fall boots and shoes. I ended up spending just $60 for some Estee Lauder moisturizer (because I wanted the free gift, which was a gorgeous tote with Fall makeup shades), and had the most fun just looking at all the great stuff. They have a terrific contemporary women's designer section with a large selection by Vince (my fave) and lots of stuff on sale. Lots of Theory and Tory Burch too. You'd never know there was a recession going on, as women happily plunk down $1300 on handbags, etc. It actually makes me feel good to see it. last year before Thanksgiving, they had a bunch of great shoes marked down and I snagged a pair of Gucci clogs I'd been eyeing online for 2 months. It took me all of 25 seconds to make the decision to buy them. I even convinced the woman next to me to go ahead and take the $900 paid of strappy heels she was trying on (it didn't take much convincing). I will definitely be back! read more

This is a good place to shop for perfume because they have a very big selection . I don't like coming here to shop for skincare products though . My favorite place in Union Square to shop. I'm mainly a regular in the Cosmetics department and the salespeople are always very friendly and helpful. They even have at least one "floater" to make sure you get help if the counter you want is short-staffed. I've bought clothes & shoes over the years from time to time and have never encountered rude sales staff (except for the time I criticized the Burberry color palate one year, and it turned out it really didn't sell. But that was another story. ) I think it's a beautiful & fun place to shop, & I also like eating there. read more

I came to Union Square looking for a gift for my mom's birthday. I saw the Neiman Marcus sign and immediately ran (well not really, that would be dangerous) to the front turning doors. The set up of the store was refreshing and very upscale. I went to the 3rd or 4th floor contemporary/high end designer section and bought my mother a beautiful Valentino coat. I have shopped Neiman Marcus since I was 13 in Dallas. The San Francisco store is without peer..including Bergdorf Goodman. JR Souza Neto Guerlain is not only an excellent make-up artist, he is kind, genuine, and a joy to be around. He recently he did my make-up and not only did he give me a sophisticated, natural look, he didn't push any products on me at all. That being said, I'm so happy with the concealer, matte lip stick, lip pencil eye brow pencil and blush compact that I did purchase. He explained each step of the application process along the way so I felt confident when I left I the store that I could apply my make-up the way JR did (or at least come pretty close!) JR is a real artist and a gem in the world of helping women look their best. read more

Seriously Nieman Marcus! Giving the on-line folks even one star is generous. I ordered 3 small items on 11/26. I have heard nothing from NM about the order. On 12/13 I am like where is the stuff. Apparently, it has been sitting in the fed ex depot damaged. No word from fed ex, and no word from NM. 17 days to find out my stuff is damaged, NM no longer has it, and they charged my card. The customer service at Neiman Marcus was excellent. I was shopping at NM this afternoon and left my iPhone at the counter. I didn't realize it until around 6:30 pm. I called my phone and the NM customer service answered my phone. The lady at the customer service was about to leave for the day and said I could pick up the phone next day. But after she found out I don't live in SF she arranged to have someone to meet me at the front door of NM ( and she knew I was still 10-15 minutes away from NM). When I finally got there, this very friendly lady was patiently waiting at the front door with the empathy that she really understood how panicky I was to losing my iPhone and glad I was able to get it back! What a great service! Not only putting customers first but also have a real human touch. I wish I had the chance to get the names of the two great ladies so I could thank and recognize them on yelp....but BIG thanks to you anyway!!! read more

I wandered into Neiman's looking to upgrade my tinted SPF, with no specific brand in mind. After glancing around I spotted the Natura Bisse counter...it looked good, so I headed over there. I had no idea I was in for such a treat! I was greeted with a friendly smile by Christina; who listened to what I was looking for and had just the product I needed, The Cure. I had previously been using something that was soaking up all the oil on my face and leaving me looking like a flaky mess, not good. Christina asked if I'd like to try the product out (yes, absolutely!), so I sat down and she went to work. The first thing I noticed was how luxurious The Cure felt on my skin. It felt incredibly hydrating and nourishing. When I took a look in the mirror, I was so happy with the coverage and dewy look that I was sold. I've been using The Cure for over a month now and I'm still loving it everyday. I was also given several samples of other products and loved them so much I've returned to purchase those as well. Christina has been such a pleasure to work with, she's taken the time to personally check in with me about how I'm liking everything I've bought and she's just a really sweet person. I don't think I've ever had so much personal attention after purchasing a product at a large establishment ever. The bonus to this experience was Natura Bisse offers a complimentary HOUR LONG facial with any purchase...whaaa?!?! I have been shopping here for yearsssssss! Almost 20+ years. I walked in wanting to look at a Chanel bag I had called about and placed on hold the day before. Although, I didnt purchase it (decided to text the sales associate later and purchased a different bag) the service was excellent. My daughter was playing with bags and no one batted an eye which I thought was considerate considering I was doing some heavy shopping and didnt have my eye on her the entire time. I had a terrible experience at NM last Sunday in the mens fashion department. There was a young man (Neil) who i found unpleasant and uninterested in making a sale or even just engaging. I clearly needed help finding a suite but he ignored me the whole time I was there (he was more interested in his cell phone rather than making a sale) I just expected more from NM & it's employees. Retailers really need to make sure employees put their phones away during work hours. read more

Neiman Marcus has a certain elegance, and its annual Christmas tree is a site to behold, but they must make most of their money from fur-wearing, high-society trophy wives, or their overall look makes no sense. Nevertheless, if I'm going to Union Square, I drop in more often than not. read more

I don't think there's much else I can say about neiman marcus besides that they are fantastic and provide great customer services. I'm a frequent here and the people would greet me. 2000 for a plain t-shirt from what Keit K stated. I haven't really seen those in existence and you are probably over exaggerating the whole thing. Either the t-shirt is made of luxury fabric or embellished with fancy designs, stones, etc to set at that huge of a price. I buy luxury brands all the time and plain T-shirts go for 300-500 and not 2000. Keit I think you are just a loser in real life that hates rich people. Jealousy is a hurtful thing. read more

I love the staff here! They were so nice when I was there december 12 2012. Even thought I didn't buy anything just from the experience I would shop here. The reason that I am so happy is when I went into the shoe department a staff member came and asked if I needed help. The when I found the Louboutin another sales person came over to me and got me a pair of shoes that I wanted to try on. She was the best!!!!! Sensing her desperation and the need for relief from the endless rain and mud, I called the fragrance department at Nieman's. The gentleman I spoke with was wonderful. Hadrian in stock, Sud needed to be ordered. No problem. He called me right back and said the order would be filled quickly and would call me upon its arrival.
