Neil's is my go to for lunch and dinner. Ham & Swiss on hard roll w mustard- soooooo good! The macaroni salad is freshly made and not too mayonnaisey - the dry kind- usually order extra but it comes with every sandwich. Sally's special is another good one to try too- you won't be disappointed with anything that you choose to eat! Great all ready made meals for take out too- easy home made diners! I got the T-Ranx and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I'm Italian and grew up with my family owning a deli... And this was still the best. This place was not bad as far as the food was concerned. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which is hard to mess up, and it did come with a fresh roll which makes it a little better then average. I know this because I am from Philly and we are known for having some of the best restaurants serving excellent sandwiches, hoagies and cheese steaks. Unfortunately the gentleman that worked there was rude and insulting when he found out that my sister and I were from PA. We did nothing to warrant the nasty response that he made, and maybe he thought we didn't hear him but we did. Where I am from, we never say unkind things to a customer who is willing to patronize our establishments, therefore I would have to question his business smarts. Honestly this place is great....Way better than Mr g's used to be. Neil and his wife take great pride in there food and have always been kind to me when I used to work near there. Iove Sally's favorite, as well as there pastrami sub. There Chicken parm isn't bad either. Overall it's a subshop with very nice people. It was so good i didn't even drink my snapple because I couldn't stop eating! NOTE: Finish your meal with a big chocolate chip cookie conveniently kept in bags next to the cashier. Delicious Specialty subs and sandwiches made with fresh bread delivered every morning from Brooklyn. I always get #13, Chicken Cutlet Sandwich with roasted peppers on a bed of spinach. Have it plain or with hot sauce. It's addictive. Try the homemade soups too. I like how they don't add the pasta to the soup until it's ordered. Keeps it al dente. This place serves real gourmet comfort food even though it's advertised as an Italian Deli. Seems to get busier every time I go. Fresh, Quality, good deli! - my most eaten at location here & around Deal, NJ for lunch. A small soup of the day next to my typical chicken francese sandwich makes for a great lunch. I also enjoy the FREE mac salad and pickle with every order - also enjoy entering a "free lunch for 2" every time i go there to grab a bite... Simply write down your name and number every Sunday they pick a winner. A bigger drink selection and possibly some homemade baking (cookies, brownies, cupcakes) would make this place even better. EDIT: went to Neil's today for lunch, once again was blown away. Chicken francese was super lemony and absolutely delicious! A older gentleman after having an extended lunch ask the woman working if they have "desert" ... the woman said: "not yet, but we are working on it - we have been doing taste testings at bakerys etc" I was very happy to hear this news, and impressed that they are testing the waters and not just buying cheap crap at some run of the mill bakery down the street.
