I wish I could leave 0 stars for the hut on the boardwalk. I received an iced coffee that had curdled milk in it. They refused to remake the coffee because the milk was before the expiration date , visually the milk inside was curdled inside the container. The worker behind the counter was incredibly rude and one of the nastiest attitudes when all that was asked was to remake a coffee with new milk or give a refund. My husband picked up one dozen bagels this morning - that was my request. I live a good bagel. Unfortunately the bagels were SERIOUSLY not fresh. I m might even go so far as to say stale. So hard on the outside that when you go to cut them in half the knife almost slips off the bagel a little bit. Upon hosting it, the flavor was good, but I was disappointed in the solidness of the outside of the Bagels. One other thing is that one dozen bagels and one small container cream cheese cost nearly $32. We will try another place next time. On the plus side, the workers were friendly. This review is extremely rare for me to do and seriously takes alot of bad things to line up to get me to review a business in this manner. My wife, daughter, granddaughter and myself went to the deli for breakfast sandwiches this morning. Half of us waited outside while the order was being prepared. My wife was standing by the ATM machine inside, after about 20 minutes of waiting the chef when to the front desk girl and asked what my wife was waiting for since it had been 20 minutes. My wife overheard the conversation, hearing that turkey bacon takes 25 minutes to prepare. Hearing this my wife simply said " it would have been nice if someone told us that when we placed the order". This is when things became very uncomfortable, a man who was in an office came out and told my my wife not to speak to the chef, he then escalated it further by telling her not to harass the chef. He then told my wife to move away from that area, he then said " Get the F*ck out my store!" My wife said well are you going to give me money back. He then said "We'll give you your f*cking money back and then turned to the cashier and said "Give her her F*cking money back!" and then stormed away. The chef came over and kindly said the food was almost done and another minute later gave her the order. So I know this business has been in Long Branch for many years and probably has it's fair share of supporters. But I ask all of you to kindly reconsider going to this establishment. No person should be treated this way. Instead first approaching my wife in a civil manner to first understand the situation he came out on the offensive verbally attacking my wife. Our daughter placed an order thru grub-hub on Sunday. When my husband went to pick it up, they made him wait an additional 30 minutes and told him to pay ( he didn't realize it was already paid). They should have known it was already paid. After we were already on the beach, we realized that the order was completely wrong and could not be eaten. They lied to our daughter on the phone, so my husband called back. They made no apology, were nasty and refused to give us a refund. Obviously we will NEVER go back! Came here with a couple friends on a gap between classes because our university is nearby. I loved the inside, it was so cute and looked brand new. I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS! Avoid at all costs by any means. When I called to place my order via telephone call, I informed the guy that I will be paying with my debit card. He took my order, and we got off the phone. Soon after, I realized that he never took my card information. I called back and asked him if he needed it, and he responded that the delivery person would be carrying a portable credit card swiper. When he arrived, I gave my friend my card to go pay. My friend told me that instead of using the credit card swiper, HE TOOK A PICTURE OF MY DEBIT CARD with his cell phone. I called the establishment and told them that I felt extremely uncomfortable. The person I was speaking to on the phone claimed to be the business owner and told me that this was common practice with all his deliveries. When I went to check the handwritten receipt he stapled to my bag; there was no total on my receipt. I had to call him back and ask him for a total. He told me if I wanted a copy of the receipt, I could go to the restaurant for one or wait a few hours for one to be delivered to me. (This phone call happened at 1:40pm and they close at 3:00 pm today!!) I have a feeling that I will never receive my receipt. I told him how uncomfortable I was with what his delivery guy did and he did not care. This is poor business practice, in a world where everyone is susceptible to identity theft.
