Chef Deanna - Brunch at Bramble Hill

We found Chef Deanna through Instagram and were intrigued. I sent her a quick note, and next thing…read moreyou know, we're on a phone call for over an hour that felt like 10 minutes. We asked Deanna to cater our 115 person, mountain top wedding with as much fire-prepared food as possible. Think Francis Mallmann (google him if you arent familiar). No running water. No electricity. She was game. She was more than game. She came ready to rumble and was cooking on the fire pit from morning until late night. Deanna is warm, talented, energetic, charming, and generous. She made amazing, locally sourced, fresh food our guests are still raving about. She has real relationships with farmers and producers in the area - her local connections are priceless. Her whole team never broke their professionalism and wowed us with their service and hospitality. She helped our moms serve apple pies instead of wedding cake. She sprinkled flowers all over the buffet tables. She shared with us all her beautiful old plates. She surprised us with a late night round of sloppy joes. She let us borrow all the props and baskets and water jugs for our whole wedding weekend, even for events that she wasn't specifically there for. I could go on and on. Book with Deanna, she is a true unicorn of the catering world.

We hired Chef Deanna in 2019 for our farm wedding in 2020. We postponed two times, and Chef Deanna was incredibly accommodating throughout it all. In fact -- she supported our decision to postpone (even the second time!) when so many people questioned why we were doing it. Postponing twice was absolutely the right decision, and we had our dream wedding on 4/9/22 of this year. Chef Deanna worked with us to create a menu that was rustic and aligned with our tastes/personalities. We did a barbecue buffet for the main course -- with macaroni and cheese, multiple types of meat, cornbread, etc. -- and a more classic cocktail hour with charcuterie/cheese etc. Everything was delicious. My only regret is that I didn't go up for seconds! In ADDITION to that, Chef Deanna provided her gorgeous vintage plates that were a perfect fit with our venue. This really helped make our planning easier, and added to the beauty of the tables on the day. Everything went seamlessly -- We could not have been happier with Chef Deanna's catering!

This is the first yelp review that I've ever left, but I feel that I have to leave this review as a…read morewarning to other brides. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but working with this caterer made the process significantly more difficult. Communication was one of the biggest issues. We often waited weeks for responses to simple questions, making it incredibly frustrating to plan such an important event. We were initially quoted one price, but as the wedding approached, our final invoice increased by thousands of dollars due to service fees that were never clearly disclosed during the planning process. When we questioned these charges, we were told the additional service fee was necessary to ensure that everyone's food would be served promptly and at the proper temperature. They told us if we did not pay the fee, then we not have good service at the wedding. Ironically, I was the bride, served first, and my own meal was served cold. If the additional fee was truly intended to guarantee hot, timely service, it clearly did not accomplish that. I can only wonder what the experience was like for many of our guests. To make matters worse, vendor meals for their own staff were never included on our invoice before the wedding, so I figured they were included in the outrageous service fee increase, but that was not the case. After the wedding, we were unexpectedly billed an additional amount for their team's meals, which came as a complete surprise. The lack of communication, hidden costs, and poor execution left us incredibly disappointed. A wedding is one of the biggest days of your life, and you should be able to trust your vendors to be transparent, responsive, and professional. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would strongly recommend working with another caterer. There are plenty of vendors who communicate honestly, provide transparent pricing, and deliver the level of service you expect for such an important occasion. We deeply regret choosing this one.

She was responsive, reassuring, professional, friendly and understanding. Most importantly the food was amazing and beautifully presented. I don't know what the cheese and meat wheels on the grazing table were called but I am craving more! I could also make a full meal out of the pasta salad alone! I also recommend the s'mores station. It was unique and such a great touch for a farm wedding. I'd hire Jasmyn Rose again in a heartbeat!

I was very specific with what I wanted for food. The order was for : 1. Large pan of Lasagna ( very tastety). 2. Glazed carrots ( just a tiny bit too sweet) 3. Green beans almondine. ( not impressed. It had a lot of sliced almonds, but they weren't toasted!! And for me toasted almond is what makes the green beans taste soooo good!). 4. Pasta with scrimp and scallops in a creamy Alfredo sauce . ( Every one who had it loved it)! 5. Garlic mash potatoes, not impressed. A lot of the potatoes weren't fully cooked and they had absolutely no flavor. There definitely wasn't any garlic in them at all. A lot of my guests were unhappy with them as well. 6. Macaroni and cheese, you would think with such a simple dish how could it not be absolutely wondetful? I don't know what they used for cheese, but one of them was so sharp and bitter that I had to spit it out. Even my husband who will eat just about anything, he didn't want them. Literally only 2 guest liked it. One was my neice so I gave her the whole pan to take home! 7. Baked stuffed chicken . I had send out invites to 60 ppl so she wanted 3 trays of the chicken . When the final number was 45 she wanted me to keep the same number this was there was one for everyone . I didn't have a problem with that. The first tray of chicken was very dry and all of the chicken only had a very thin layer of stiffing. I was dissapointed with that. The 2 other trays of chicken were nice and moist. My other problem was I took home 24 pieces of chicken so in hind sight I think 2 trays would have been enough. Oh the chicken was flavorful just way too much to take home! We had a ton of left overs ! At least 1/2 of each tray Except for the salad , there was only another 1/20 left. They salad was really good! Very well proportioned everything inside. Overall though the food was pretty good except for a few items! Even though not everything was to my likings we all need to realize everyone makes dished differently . Some we like and others we won't . Also I think I could have been more explicit on how I wanted some of the items made. I would use this company if the need arose. Thank you to Julie and all her staff for a job well done!
