Dining area. The sun beams in every morning while you can have breakfast.

If you have a chance to stay at this place don't pass it up. Amazing views. The fireplace in the lobby is a great place to hang out after a long day of walking the trails.

I went for dinner with my boyfriend, and we had a great time. The lodge is cozy. We arrived at 6:30 to look around, and we got a free glass of sangria because between 5-7pm it's happy hour. You can seat next to fire place on comfy chairs, or go on their deck to admire the view. Dinner was delicious. When you approach the dining room you get to be seated where they plan, on one of their communal table. Our table company was fun and we enjoying talking with them quite a lot. As entree we got a onion and goat cheese tart with salad. Then you can pick between three main meals. I had the Tuscan style beef stew, and my partner got trout with roasted vegetable and potatoes. Both really tasty. For dessert they served a dreamy chocolate pudding with fresh whip cream and blueberries. With dessert you can pick a mug and get by yourself either coffee of hot tea. Two dinner and three glasses of wine costs $93, pricy but definitely worth it. It's a culinary and landscape experience to try! Next time I wanna try lodging over night.

Awesome hummus sandwich! Delicious for even the most meat-loving lunch eater.

Perfection as a stop point after the long hike up. Juicy burgers, cold beers and high end popsicles were perfection for us and the kids!

John's a jerk, but the property is nice. I don't think he'll be working there much longer, though ‍

After a long, exhausting hike up Mt Greylock, we had little hope that the food in the lodge on top of the mountain was going to be anything decent.

The rooms are very very clean, along with very clean sheets and towels!! They have everything you need in them as well. They allowed me to check in at 6am for my stay verses having me check in at 6am and check out at 11am. It's up on a hill away from the traffic, so it's very quiet. You're not going to find any rif raf here at this motel from drug addicts and loud disrespectful people. You're gonna find Travelors, families, and people just rolling through for a good nights rest here. The refrigerators are really spacious as well!! The beds are super comfy for a good nights rest. Although the bathrooms for a single person are really small, there's still room in there to move around. Most of the items are up to date except for a couple of things that could be upgraded. Plus the heat works well and keeps the room nice and toasty. Everywhere has some cons: So I would recommend replacing the grip tape in the shower for protection of people like myself who are a fall risk. Also New England is starting to drop down at night but still gets hot during the day, so I would recommend fixing the window unit. I would recommend getting locked trash cans for outside, since we are in the woods and there are bears. Otherwise it's a really lovely homey space and I would definitely come back here!! I give it four and a half stars but you cant do half on yelp!

Actually, early Saturday morning since it was well past midnight. Very comfortable and cozy, though a bunch of noisy people right outside my window prevented me from sleeping in very long! But that's no fault of management, of course. My friend from college had some other guests at the home he shares with his wife a few minutes away, so there's $160 with tax I'll never see again. But the hotel in No. Adams I had stopped in at and inquired about rates an hour and a half earlier was out of control at $210 that night. Clerk at that hotel gave me another for another hotel in No. Adams, and it was even worse at $350. So Giovanni's was welcome find indeed, and the gentleman I awoke (occupational hazard, right?) was a paisan originally from Brooklyn, like all my late father's peeps! Fuhgeddaboudit! I had started by little five-day busman's holiday in Great Barrington in the Berkshires, and it turns out there are tons of ex-patriate Brooklynites who seem to have had enough of urban agita in NYC and sought refuge in rural Massachusetts. And I have to say I don't blame them a bit, though I will love New York until my last breath.

I've been a guest here several times over the past 4 years. It's my go to in Northampton and I…read moredon't think I would consider staying anywhere else. It's an odd building (probably a few buildings cobbled together for the main hotel) but very charming. The restaurant and bar are strangely designed but definitely comfortable. The lobby area is large and welcoming. There's a beautiful front porch that is enclosed and looks like it was once a fully outdoor porch. I always find myself camped out there for part of the visit. You can find outlets to charge phones and laptops here and in the lobby as well. They have additional buildings and I've stayed there as well. Everything is very comfortable and you can make a short or long term stay work out very well. People are nice as you might expect. On our most recent visit, our room 300 was noticeably musty but opening the window for a while seemed to clear that up. Parking is limited if you want a space near the hotel. They have 10 minute spaces to allow guests with heavy bags to unload and there's a one story elevator to the parking lot to make the building accessible to anyone. The location could not be better. You can walk to a variety of excellent restaurants and shops. It is very easy to find and a few minutes off I-91. If you're a runner, take a left out of the front door and Smith College and a very nice park are just up the street. There's a reproduction tavern under the restaurant that I think may only be open for brunch on Sundays? I've never noticed it being open. There's an outdoor garden patio that could not be more beautiful. I think I recall seeing them serving out there but don't hold me to it. I'm usually here in the winter or shoulder seasons. There must be a reason why they don't use this as their main bar. Possibly accessibility? It's just another one of the odd layout dynamics of the Hotel Northampton. I would characterize it as charming. The bottom line is that I would stay here as often as I could. I don't even consider looking somewhere else when in the area. I think you would enjoy it if you gave it a try so please do!
