The black truffle cheese is the greatest cheese I have ever tasted. This place is seriously out of bounds.

Wonderful Wine & Cheese Boutique coupled with a great Wine Bar…read more Cheese maker Nancy Bergman and sommelier Kyle Frey never fail to impress with the quality of their products and hospitality. Ms. Bergman makes world class soft ripening cheese which she kindly permits me to sell in my store. They are all great but my favorite is the Grappino, the most full flavored of the bunch. The wine selection curated by Mr. Frey is thoughtful and holds many delicious surprises from all over the world. They also have a wonderful wine bar named "Remedy." The couple holds theme based dinners based on the cuisine and wine from various viticultural regions. The last one was from the Savoie region of France and there was exquisitely melted Raclette Cheese everywhere. Needlessly to say the 6 or so wines were perfect and though I've been in the wine business for 30 years (7 of which were in France) I was surprised to try wines that I'd never heard of. Jacksonville, Vermont is lucky to have them, I'm lucky to have them 20 minutes away. Reservations strongly recommended!

Wow! You have to stop here. This place was about an hour and a half away from us and it is worth…read morethe trip. The wine selection is awesome. The cheese is exceptional. Very good hospitality. We came here for lunch today and were not disappointed. Everything is done with care down to the last detail. These folks know their stuff and it is a small and romantic Wine Bar and shop. We each purchased a glass of wine, a cheese plate, and an eggplant sandwich and the total was about 60 bucks. However, the wine and cheese was so good we ended up in the store and purchased another 70 bucks worth of stuff. This place is small and elegant. Bring this place your business!

Actually liked this store despite all the bad reviews. It has a lot of charms as this store…read moreprobably has been around for a long time (assuming 1836 is the year this store opened?)... I also met the rude older gentleman owner many have mentioned in their reviews and I actually found him not rude at all, maybe because I work in construction and deal with ego maniacs old white males all day, so the owner actually comes off as nice to me? The older gentleman asked me to let him know if I need any helps when I walked in and I said thanks will do. He checked in with me again later on and I said thanks again. He said he's just trying to help, I smiled and said appreciate it. Didn't think I experienced anything rude from him at all. In the end, I got my Vermont maple syrup, some chocolate and a nice $3.99 mug! Definitely recommend this place if you want something Vermont to bring home.

This is kinda what you'd expect from a gift/souvenir shop in Vermont. They do offer plenty of items…read morethat have Vermont on it for tourists to wear and show off they have likely visited Vermont. They also had lots of stuffed animals including a giant tiger displayed outside and a moose, which the moose was a cheaper price than I expected for its size. Also as you would expect since it is Vermont they had lots of maple syrup including sizes of bottles that would make Costco sizes seem small. Even as someone currently being a tourist, I enjoy browsing stores like this but typically will skip on buying much. I find you usually run into two different issues, first being poor quality items you buy and second being overpriced and often you get both. The highlight of this place in my opinion that makes it a little more than just a gift shop was the dessert and cheese part. Despite this we still did not buy anything but some of the treats did look very good! Service wise while we did not buy anything did lack any sort of welcome or anything said at all by staff. It does not take much effort to even just say "hello welcome in". If you find yourself in the area going to any of the nearby shops or other things to do you might as well pop in and browse at least.
