If you would like a joyous occasion tainted by rudeness and incompetence, don't hesitate to hire…read moreLeenas. We can start with communication. The proprietor, Jessica, was consistently uncommunicative throughout the lead up to our wedding, requiring multiple followups to every outreach - before offering usually clipped, often difficult to understand, and more than once condescending responses. In fact, it was only after I relisted the project on Thumbtack (in desperation, two weeks before the wedding) that she finally responded with a signed contract. And oh what a contract... In retrospect, I should have walked away after first reading a document so chaotic, so preemptively defensive, and so rife with typos and garbled sentences. But I was busy planning a wedding, and the price was right. My mistake. But hey, bad communication can be forgiven when followed by great service, right? Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Our "Essentials Package" called for two bartenders and two service staff. What we got was Jessica... and her three VISIBLY UNDERAGE CHILDREN. I'm all for an intergenerational family business, but watching a boy who looked like he just made the jump from cub scouts to boy scouts try and move a rack of glassware between bars, a girl who looked like she should be considering college applications next year get a real time lesson from guests on the difference between tonic water and club soda, or a boy who looked like he just traded a learner's permit for a real driver's license try and back a pickup truck out of a crowded parking lot isn't super comfortable or confidence inspiring. When Jessica herself wasn't pushing un-requested tequila shots on the bride (and taking them herself...), she was being short with guests, complaining about various aspects of the setup that - while I can understand posed a slight challenge (e.g. keeping two bar locations stocked during the cocktail hour) - would have been easy to problem solve had the staff been even semi-professional adults instead of children who could not operate independently. As icing on the cake, With an hour left in the party guests were told the bar was out of water and running low on beer, but when we cleaned up, we found nearly 100 unopened beers and close to 10 liters of water. At the end of the night, Jessica demanded additional gratuity of $200 dollars per staff member (who, if I haven't mentioned, did not not seem remotely old enough to have their own bank accounts), on top of the $150 in the tip jar. That's a total of $950 on an event fee of $1925... or ~50% gratuity. I paid it to avoid a scene on my wedding night, and had it not been for sympathy on behalf of the hardworking kids put in an impossible position by their mother, it would probably be among my life's great regrets. Jessica might be able to handle the bartending needs of a 12th birthday party, but if you want a good experience at anything more complex, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Joan made this process so incredibly easy, she was so friendly and has such great attention to details. Mike was actually at the event along with his employees. He was incredible! Had everything under control and is kind and friendly. Now if this couple isn't the dynamic duo I don't know who is! The food was delicious! lovingly prepared and served with a smile. Do not hesitate to call this caterer! They are delightful and my guests were impressed as well. Thank you Mike and Joan so very much! Bernadette Antonellis Sanders

Joan called me back right away as she had a cancellation on the date we wanted. That was pure luck and the rest is history. Joan, her family and staff at Franklin Caterers were awesome to deal with. She made great suggestions for renting the tent and tables, took care of all the menu details as well as linens, and provided the perfect advice for setting up the bar and provided a bartender. Everyone was superbly professional, on-time, very communicative and we were able to enjoy the party with our guests which was our goal. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

I received a list of vendors from our synagogue and called all of them. The only one that was genuinely willing to work with me was OnTheMarc. Amanda and Marc understood completely what we were trying to accomplish and our budgetary restrictions. I am not saying it was cheap in any way, but they worked with me to achieve the perfect combination of quality and ample food at a, at least fair and manageable price. And, I have to say the food selection was incredible. I cannot tell you how many of our guests commented about it. However, the experience with On the Marc was so much more than just that. The staff was ample and incredible. EVERYONE was attended to at all times. Jacqui, the on-site lead was not only helpful leading up to the event, but she was invaluable at the event. It took such a load off our shoulders knowing she was there. I would use OnTheMarc over and over again if I could and I recommend them wholeheartedly for any event. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. I didn't want to put on such an expensive affair, but they did something I didn't think was possible - made me happy I did it.

They were helpful, responsive, and everything was clear and upfront. There were no surprise charges, or "gotchas". In fact they did several things beyond the scope of the contract without additional charges. More importantly, on the wedding day everything went perfectly. They gave us great advice on the set up of the tables, chairs, bar etc. They listened carefully to everything that was asked of them, made a couple of outstanding suggestions and dealt with the problems caused by strong gusts of wind at an outdoor venue with calm assurance. All of the food was incredible. The hor's d'ourves were fantastic, especially the brie and artichoke tarts, mini lobster rolls and tuna tacos. The mac and cheese in mini ramekins were also a huge hit. The dinners were equally delicious. I had the half chicken, which was served with a delicious polenta. It was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Other sides were served family style and were all fantastic. The dessert was also superb. Each guest received a trio of mini desserts, each of which was delightful. We had several guests with food restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free). The servers made sure the restrictions were observed, and they made it a point to bring appropriate appetizers to those guests, which was a very nice touch. All of the guests raved about the food. The service was also first class. There were so many servers handling the passed hor's d'ourves that every guest had multiple chances to try each of the offerings. Service of the dinner was equally impressive. The venue is outdoors, and it is a bit of a hike from the kitchen tent to the dining area. Despite that, the guests were served quickly, and the food came to the table still hot. Finally, their prices are quite reasonable, especially given the outstanding quality of the food and service. A very good value.
