Glad there is a local bookstore now in downtown McKinney. Good selection, friendly owner. Bought some watercolor books off a display that I would've never known about & just enjoyed browsing around.

My wife and I used to come here all the time while she was pregnant and today was our first day back after baby. We had wanted this book before she was born but it wasn't here. So as a promise, Joey,at the front saved it for us to be picked up after her birth. What a wonderful place and a great guy! We are customers for life!!!

Gorgeous interior! Apparently used to be a hardware store a couple lifetimes ago.

Neighbor Books is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The selection of books is truly exceptional for a small shop, featuring everything from beloved classics to the latest bestsellers. Each title feels carefully curated, reflecting the store's passion for literature. The friendly staff is always ready to help, offering personalized recommendations that make your visit even more enjoyable. It's clear that they care about their customers and the community. As a locally owned store, Neighbor Books embodies the spirit of support and connection. You simply can't ask for more in a bookstore. If you love books and a welcoming environment, this is a must-visit! They even do book readings and signings with authors about twice a week! So cool. Seriously, check this place out, thank me later. So good!

If there was one thing missing from Downtown McKinney, it was a cute local bookstore, and Neighbor Books fits the bill. The building itself is adorable, with history shining through every plank of hardwood flooring and exposed brick/shiplap. The space is immense, and it almost feels like you're in one of those old European libraries you'd find on Pinterest. They have an upper balcony wrapping the wall that includes quiet spots to sit and even an area with board games and puzzles for patron use. I think there was also an elevator for those with difficulty on stairs. They have a decent amount of gift items and books, but tend to lean more toward well-known bestsellers than quirky indie titles, especially in the young reader section, which was pretty sparse. For the size of the shop I definitely expected more of a selection to choose from, but maybe they'll grow once they get more established. They seem to be splitting the difference between liberal/conservative selection and not leaning specifically one way or the other. They do have a good amount of kids Christian books.

This new book store is located in downtown McKinney. It's very pleasing place to browse and there are lots options if you want to sit and read a book. There is even complimentary drip coffee. Definitely a place to check out if you're in the area.

When I first walked in, I was underwhelmed by what I saw to be the book collection and overwhelmed by how big yet quiet and comfy the space was. Once I started looking at the books, however, I realized that I definitely judged the book by the cover. I love the small but unique selection the store has, and I thought it was awesome they offer pickup if you want to order a book for no extra charge (I believe!)! We spoke with Joey and he was also great. Paperbacks are a decent price and while the hardback was more, Joey sold the second book I bought as a reader and not as a salesman. I really appreciated the way he approached conversation, both casual and professional, and his recommendation was based on what I told him about my preferences- it could also be viral on tiktok and I wouldn't know, but his recommendation was specifically inspired by what I had told him I read and it seemed like he immediately understood. While the space is a tiny bit under used, and it's a bit more expensive, supporting local businesses with such a quality approach to customers is absolutely worth it! As a bonus here are these really cute pastel game boxes I took a picture of

Member ship is super expensive. But they allow you to walk around and enjoy the experience.

Today was my first time to go to the Stonebriar Mall Barnes & Noble store, and I was impressed with…read moretheir selections. It's one of the biggest B&N stores I have been to so far. The children's area had the most toys I've ever seen at any of these places. And even thought it's large, I saw things that remind me of what a thoughtful bookstore should have in it. Children sitting on benches reading and laughing. Teens talking about the books they're buying and looking forward to reading that story. And adults having fun with their children. And I must say, isn't that what a bookstore should be about? Laughter, imagination, excitement to read. It truly made my heart happy to see and feel their joy as I walked through the book isles. There's a B&N store close to my house, and I never see or feel what I experienced at this store. That speaks volumes to me. And yes, I bought a book. Every year I look for that special Halloween book I can share with my granddaughter. Today I added the children's book, "We Are Already Haunting Here" by Gideon Stere. I can't wait to share it with her!

I am going to give away some of my criteria for writing a book store a five star experience. It's…read morerare for a bookstore to meet every criteria. To me a bookstore has to have an amazing selection, great customer service, fair prices, and a really nice vibe and atmosphere. This Barnes and Noble hits on everyone of those standards! This Barnes and Noble is inside of Stonebriar mall in Frisco. When I first walked in, I thought it to be a small store until I saw the escalators which brought me downstairs to a whole different level. Essentially, this is a full size, Barnes and Noble, and more! They even had sections that I have not seen in any other Barnes & Noble store. They had a whole selection of toys and games. They also had sections for different age groups on the activity toys. What I really enjoyed about the atmosphere here though, is all of the activity I saw. I saw family sitting down in the kids, section with parents reading to their children. I saw teenagers that were obviously walking in the mall that had stopped in the road to look at the young teen section and sit down with books. I saw families browsing together, individuals, browsing together and groups of all ages, checking out things, or sitting in nooks reading books. It was really a great vibe, and this place seem to be a community gathering place. Barnes & Noble has several different ways to score some bargains in their store. What is the typical look for the sales. For example, on this particular trip I saw several tables that had relatively new released books on sale for half price. You can get great prices also by becoming a member of their royalty buyers program. They have a couple different options on that depending on whether you're a casual reader and shopper or you're an avid reader, and shopper. I do not read as much as I used to so these days the free membership makes the most sense for me. Anyway, I have learned that not all Barnes and Noble's are created equally and this is a really great Barnes and Noble! Review #2094
