This location does a great job lifting up PRIDE, and highlights minority authors and banned books. FanGirl for that. Many Yelpers verbalize complaints about low exchange rate on books we bring in. I also observe this. But I am glad for the opportunity to lower my haul by selling books. I rarely leave with less than one toteful of purchases so anything helps.

I brought books from a STORAGE unit, all from the same place multiple times and they were evaluated fine. I have so many books I should have probably just donated them to the library. He accepted books from a white patron one stack mind you, with library writings on them and gave that patron $22. We had 3 loads of books and were given $1. Equally the day prior $4, for 3 tubs of books. I could have let it go if it weren't for the comments which I shared with corporate and won't bother to share here. I am extremely offended and never pull the "race" card, but that employee in particular is rude and racist. I drove the items up there in a Porsche I'm QUITE certain I wasn't smoking. I was told they only deserve $1 and that the library wouldn't take them. Unnecessary comments weren't needed. I could have said he looked like a proud boy who just left a far right tattoo parlor but I didn't. I've lived in Frisco for over 11 years and have frequented this location without a problem. If you are a person of color and see this man, spare yourself the trouble when he is evaluating, you will get nothing but profiled. It's not the money clearly, no one cares about that when getting rid of things or giving back. It's the rude and ignorant comments that other patrons didn't have to experience. The rest of the staff was great, kind, and very accommodating. He is combative, ignorant, childish, and rude. His customer service is terrible and for this to be the standard for an ASSISTANT MANAGER is insane. Your staff is a representation of your brand, so if nothing more this is a serious coaching opportunity. For him to feign offense to being called out about being overtly racist was an insult as well. Pure ignorance. Then laughed as if it were funny, as if calling corporate didn't matter. Smug, ignorant and arrogant. Like what are you gonna do about it? These type of ignorant employees are the reason why companies lose businesses that were once cherished and reputable.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the people were so kind, and it truly felt like a place you want to stay awhile. It's a great study spot--peaceful, cozy, and inspiring. Good place to walk around and look at cute things in general and then go off to the food court and enjoy a meal. Super nice staff and although it is small, it is PACKED with so many goodies. All the usual suspects are here including new releases, fiction, non-fiction, children's etc. They've even managed to wedge in a small Travel and Texas section, which pleases me. Being a somewhat smaller store they have done a few things to save space like shortening the list of available magazines. Where's my Gun and Garden? The In store Starbucks seems way to big and isn't layed out very well. All in all though,I'm glade that Barnes and Noble survived the retail fallout and secondly,opened a new store. We checked out the young reader section and the displays in the children's area. Since school is starting soon, we didn't buy anything this trip. They pointed out some books that they had read over the summer. They found a cute Pusheen (stuffie cat) that is exclusive to Barnes & Noble. But, the price was pretty pricey for a stuffie. I'm sure if we have a book on our shopping list and we are in this area, we might stop in again.

Today was my first time to go to the Stonebriar Mall Barnes & Noble store, and I was impressed with…read moretheir selections. It's one of the biggest B&N stores I have been to so far. The children's area had the most toys I've ever seen at any of these places. And even thought it's large, I saw things that remind me of what a thoughtful bookstore should have in it. Children sitting on benches reading and laughing. Teens talking about the books they're buying and looking forward to reading that story. And adults having fun with their children. And I must say, isn't that what a bookstore should be about? Laughter, imagination, excitement to read. It truly made my heart happy to see and feel their joy as I walked through the book isles. There's a B&N store close to my house, and I never see or feel what I experienced at this store. That speaks volumes to me. And yes, I bought a book. Every year I look for that special Halloween book I can share with my granddaughter. Today I added the children's book, "We Are Already Haunting Here" by Gideon Stere. I can't wait to share it with her!

I later completed the online rental form and was called shortly after to pick it up because it was ready. I have enjoyed my rental thus far.
