We spoke with Need for Build in May of 2022. We worked with Angelo as our main person of contact. We were beginning the first phase of home remodel with a small bathroom. We did not have to do anything other than replace the shower tile, vanity, floor tile and fixtures, no addition was being added, at this time we were quoted a price that was higher than any of the other bids we had received, this bid did not include any of the Tile, vanity, or fixtures, only labor and raw materials. We were told once we ordered materials it would take approximately 6-8 weeks. The project started June 17th, due to many errors and lack of communication the project is still Not completely done! Please keep in mind that this is a Half Bathroom, there have been so many errors that were made that I can't even list them all here. I spoke with Angelo last week on September 1st and again explained to him my frustrations with the errors and he assured me that he would be speaking to his boss and getting back to me right away, I have yet to hear from him again. The old retaining wall was falling apart and splitting at points so it desperately needed to be redone! Vini with Need for Build really took care of us and gave us a fair price for a professional job that we can feel safe about. They had given us a reasonable timeline that we were happy with but in the end they were able to get the job done in a fraction of the time and started ahead of schedule which really helped out. The wall looks amazing and they even touched up the remaining portion that was still in good condition so it matched the new one even better and will now last longer. My wife and I recently purchased a new build in Valley Center and needed to install drainage, 470+ sq. ft. of pavers, 75 ft retaining wall, and a stone planter. We met with five builders and chose to hire Need for Build after hearing Dylan's sales pitch. Dylan was great and not your typical pushy salesman. He was personable, easy to work with, and very professional. He did an excellent job with explaining the process, offering alternative options, and coordinating the project from start-to-finish. He was a big reason why we chose to hire Need For Build. If I owned a construction company, Dylan would be the project manager I'd want to hire. As for the crew, they were some of the most organized, polite, and hard-working professionals we have EVER worked with. The entire project was completed in two and a half weeks, but they could have easily finished it in two weeks flat if not for a few rainy days. The crew was very experienced and the quality of their work was very impressive. The small details matter to Dylan and the crew. Some of our neighbors were amazed by some of the very difficult cuts they made! Overall, my wife and I could not be happier with our new backyard. So you are looking for a contractor for a big project ??? These are your guys! My project was a front and backyard full re-model. It included taking out a huge tree, re-leveling the whole back yard, pushing back a hill, building a retaining wall and more. From start to finish, this team was extra professional. Everything was explained perfectly from the start, I never felt like I was out of the loop or unclear about any aspect of the job. The guys who came to do the work were kind and respectful. They even played with my dog on their lunch break. All the work turned out beautiful (see pictures). There were a few bumps in the road as there are with any project. My concerns were addressed immediately and appropriately. The response was above and beyond what you would expect from a normal company. They fixed things as soon as they were noticed and the end result is amazing ! The lead (Jonathan) was ALWAYS available via phone to talk about the project and he was at the site checking in daily. They finished well within their stated timeline. I didn't have to pay for each portion until it was done. They really went above and beyond for a good final project. Now that I have cooled off from being so upset about our experience with this company, I'm ready to get myself worked up again by writing a review. I will try to just stick to the facts, and you can determine for yourself what you think. Overall, every single step had a major mistake. Not little mistakes, major mistakes. Every. single. step. Examples: 1. miscalculated height of a retaining wall and built one twice what is legally allowed; 2. built a second retaining wall with such shoddy materials, had to end up demo-ing it and building a new one; 3. claimed to not hire outside contractors, but everything was built using outside contractors (contractors told us so); 4. convinced us to have a cable fence but the contractors very likely didn't know how to build one, and as we noticed problem after problem during construction, they repeatedly told us and it was part of the process and would turn out nicely... it didn't; 5. the fence was so bad, after much back and forth, they finally agreed to demo it and build a new one; 6. forgot the gate on the fence; 7. changed the type of wood used for the fence without telling us, using lots of gaslighting to try to convince us it was our fault; 8. illegally charged our credit card and then threatened us when we told them to remove the excess charge; 9. when we finally told them we didn't want to continue with their company, the owner used the argument that if we think they are bad, other companies are worse. Luckily we did fire them and the company we hired to finish the job was much better. Now we unfortunately have a poorly constructed fence that is already falling apart (it has been one year), with drooping cables and rotting wood, after we paid top dollar. Beware. read more

I highly recommend Need for Build. We had a very large project that took several months to complete given the complexity of the project. We did pavers, retaining walls, a large deck with an overhang, a patio, drainage and a large riverbed. The project was built into a mountain side. We worked with Doron and Chris primarily throughout the project. Doron was the project manager and Chris was the Forman. They came into a project that was started by another company and abandoned in the early stages. There were timeline issues due to potential damage and erosion from the previous company's errors. Doron came in and really worked with us to expedite the process to avoid any further damage. Doron communicated with us weekly and more if needed. He oversaw the project from beginning to end. I wanted to be involved in each step of the process and to be included in each step. Typically I feel like general contractors and construction companies do not involve the client but Doron summarized the progress each week with us and then reviewed the upcoming plan for the next week. We exchanged texts almost daily and Doron and was very invested in the project from beginning to end. He was never unavailable. He even left the country for a short time and made sure we had access to the team daily. I felt like if there were questions or challenges Doron was always willing to meet with us and find a plan to make things work. On multiple occasions Chris came out and worked with us to problem solve along with Doron to make the project perfect. There were some unforeseen challenges due to supply issues as well minor changes that we requested along the way and Doron and Chris always were willing to work with us to get things right. They were both very polite, patient and fun to work with and we really enjoyed a project that was quite stressful because of both of them as well as their crew. On a few occasions when we would have something going on at the house over the weekend, the crew would clean up, and even move their tools/boards/scraps etc. mid job out of the way so we wouldn't have to look at it, and it wouldn't be in our way- despite coming back on Monday to start work again. I think they went above and beyond with this type of treatment. The owner, on one occasion, even came out when looking at ways to finalize the project to our liking. Doron and Chris, along with their very skilled workers created a beautiful and timeless project for our family. They had several team members that are very very skilled in their craft. We were very impressed and happy with the final outcome. I can't say enough about how amazing our experience was. I would never do another project without having Doron as our Project manager and would not want to have anyone oversee the work other than Chris. We are lucky to have their team of workers who did an excellent job as well. We highly recommend them for any project that you might have and hope to work with them again some day. read more

My wife and I shopped around a while, meeting with various contractors to assess our project. Our problem was a growing soft spot in the sub-flooring beneath our pre-fab shower tub unit. Danny came to our condominium and talked us through the entire process. Patient. Not overly sales-y, though Danny--like any other person--has business to take care of. His numbers and timeline were right for us, and his recommendations were sound. There was no half-assing this project, as doing so would end up costing us more money and time in the future. The Need For Build team shuffled its schedule around to complete our project, helped us select tile, fixtures, and tub, then stayed engaged throughout demo, multiple inspections, tiling, etc. We even had a hiccup with a neighbor's leaky tub, which required some extra ceiling repair (and a short delay in the project). We were very pleased the outdoor kitchen they constructed for us. It was exactly as we hoped and will give us many many hours of joy entertaining.  Ivan, Derek and Martin made the entire process easy and fun. We sat and planned the design, overlooked the construction as we went along. They used great quality materials, were meticulous in polishing up and getting to a professional finish. During construction, the team was always very clean and kept their many equipment away to a corner of our yard for minimal disruption to our lives, much appreciated as we have little kids who love playing outside, they kept it safe. We especially loved their openness to take feedback and adapt to minor changes we wanted to make along the way like adding planter spaces next to the pillars of the structure and adding drainage and water source for those planter spaces.  We also decided midway to add another structure for the kids swing and gym set. Ivan made it happen really quickly - getting us the quotes and ordering the materials so it was built at the same time as the kitchen rather than extending out build time. The set turned out great. Loved the outcome of our bathroom project with Need For Build! Nadir Avivi and his team surpassed our expectations. We hired Need For Build to remodel our 3 bathrooms and we are so impressed by the outcome. While they were in our house they were respectful of our home and our family's way of living. They cleaned up after themselves each day, the team is so friendly, punctual, and addressed any questions or concerns we had. Nadir was at the project often and was always in touch with his team, while being accessible to us by phone and in person. We aren't the type of people that know exactly what we want but Nadir was able to help with that too. He has many ideas, is super easy to work with, and he was very patient with us during the process. Nadir actually met us at the store and helped pick out materials when we were unsure what would work together. Once everything had been decided - he worked fast! We were a little doubtful of the timeframe he gave us to complete 3 bathrooms but he was dead on. Eight weeks it took to complete one master plus 2 regular bathrooms. We got 2 other quotes - time wise he was the shortest but we usually know things run longer (so we figured a few more weeks to what was estimated),his pricing was in the middle of the other two. Seeing pictures of his other projects plus he took us to a current project he was doing close by - I was more than confident that Nadir was the person to go with. After the project was completed we decided to do another job with Need For Build and we had our windows replaced as well. The picture shows the new windows on the bottom floor compared to the old windows on the second floor. These are Anlin windows and are energy efficient / noise reducing / and come with a lifetime warranty plus the warranty passes on to the next homeowner. The screens that come with the windows are really nice and much easier to see out of than our old ones. All in all - very happy with our choice of contractor and would easily use them again for future projects. read more
