Loved the outcome of our bathroom project with Need For Build! Nadir Avivi and his team surpassed our expectations. We hired Need For Build to remodel our 3 bathrooms and we are so impressed by the outcome. While they were in our house they were respectful of our home and our family's way of living. They cleaned up after themselves each day, the team is so friendly, punctual, and addressed any questions or concerns we had. Nadir was at the project often and was always in touch with his team, while being accessible to us by phone and in person. We aren't the type of people that know exactly what we want but Nadir was able to help with that too. He has many ideas, is super easy to work with, and he was very patient with us during the process. Nadir actually met us at the store and helped pick out materials when we were unsure what would work together. Once everything had been decided - he worked fast! We were a little doubtful of the timeframe he gave us to complete 3 bathrooms but he was dead on. Eight weeks it took to complete one master plus 2 regular bathrooms. We got 2 other quotes - time wise he was the shortest but we usually know things run longer (so we figured a few more weeks to what was estimated),his pricing was in the middle of the other two. Seeing pictures of his other projects plus he took us to a current project he was doing close by - I was more than confident that Nadir was the person to go with. After the project was completed we decided to do another job with Need For Build and we had our windows replaced as well. The picture shows the new windows on the bottom floor compared to the old windows on the second floor. These are Anlin windows and are energy efficient / noise reducing / and come with a lifetime warranty plus the warranty passes on to the next homeowner. The screens that come with the windows are really nice and much easier to see out of than our old ones. All in all - very happy with our choice of contractor and would easily use them again for future projects. read more

Andrew gave us the highest bid by FAR of any other constructor who looked at our project. We said no thank you!

This review is for a simple iron railing with dual glass panel that we contracted to NFB. We signed the contract in August 2021 and the estimated time of completion was supposed to be end of September. It didn't complete until end ofDecember 2021. The hold up was mainly due to the fact it took 3 trips for the glass panels to be correctly installed. The whole issue was because NFB contracted out the glass installation to company X, and company X contracted the glass cutting to company Y. Naturally, neither NFB nor company X could do quality control on work performed by company Y since they were never on site to inspect the glass cutting process. When we first met the sales rep, it was assured to us that this project would be completed by their in-house crew. Had we known that NFB would have sub-contracted the work to another company, we would not have used them. Giving them a 3 star instead of 2 is that at least they re-cut the glasses and came back to install them. It just took a very long time to complete, and for the price we paid for, the quality could be better. I also agree with other reviewers - the initial 1hr consultation was a 3 hour sales pitch (for a RAILING project!) I think it might have been the same sales rep, but she left NFB end of 2021 so hopefully that won't be an issue anymore. In summary, I cannot comment on their other services but would advice anyone considering NFB that you understand which part of your projects are being subcontracted out to other companies and that you are comfortable with that. read more

I recently moved to the San Diego area and had purchased a new house that needed some remodeling. We came across Need for Build and it was a great match. I I recommend Need for Build, as they recently did an excellent job building our new backyard patio and patio cover. Our project Manager, Doran, communicated with us about every stage of the project and always responded quickly when we had questions or concerns. Once begun, the project made progress every day. Doran made sure we were satisfied at every step along the way. Need for Build is a local company (San Diego County), they're experienced, do quality work, and they care about ensuring their customers' satisfaction. read more

Andrew was personable, knowledgeable and easy to work with. We weren't really picky on the exact details of our design and he helped us fill in the gaps. He told us we'd pay a little more with Need for Build than the "other guys" and then proceeded to show us ever corner that the "other guys" to accommodate the cost difference. Everything happened just as we discussed in the original consult, and before we knew it, we had a brand new backyard a week later. If we have future projects, this will be the company. read more

We were very pleased the outdoor kitchen they constructed for us. It was exactly as we hoped and will give us many many hours of joy entertaining.  Ivan, Derek and Martin made the entire process easy and fun. We sat and planned the design, overlooked the construction as we went along. They used great quality materials, were meticulous in polishing up and getting to a professional finish. During construction, the team was always very clean and kept their many equipment away to a corner of our yard for minimal disruption to our lives, much appreciated as we have little kids who love playing outside, they kept it safe. We especially loved their openness to take feedback and adapt to minor changes we wanted to make along the way like adding planter spaces next to the pillars of the structure and adding drainage and water source for those planter spaces.  We also decided midway to add another structure for the kids swing and gym set. Ivan made it happen really quickly - getting us the quotes and ordering the materials so it was built at the same time as the kitchen rather than extending out build time. The set turned out great. The outdoor kitchen and play structure has really added much to our home and we spend a ton more time outside now. Thanks Need for Build! read more

We hired Need For Build to install artificial turf to our concrete side patio area and to add a new roof as well. We were hesitant to take on 2 big projects at once, but we realized we'd rather get it done sooner rather than later. Derek and Mia facilitated the entire project seamlessly, and really made themselves available to answer all of our questions and address our concerns. Both projects were completely done in less than 2 weeks, and we couldn't be happier with their work. We will definitely be using Need For Build for all of our future home projects, and can't wait to work with Derek, Mia and the entire Need For Build team again! read more

Finding a contractor can be difficult & stressful. We are happy with the work Need for Build did for us. We needed a custom patio re-done as our old one was falling apart. We first called a patio company but they said they were not able to build it the way we wanted. Need for Build was able to accommodate us. Their workers did an excellent job. They were very respectful and cleaned up after they were done with the build. Our project managers Avi & Jonathan were always available for questions. Overall we are pleased with our finished patio. read more

David assisted us with putting in a French drain and retaining wall in our backyard to prevent runoff from our hill accumulating on the concrete. Although he told us that this is a smaller job than they usually do, it was still prioritized and done promptly. We are happy with the outcome and will be using Need For Build in the future. I do feel like communication could have been slightly better during the project, but overall we felt they were transparent with us with the quote and expectations. Thank you! read more

I liked the 'Need-For-Build' Rep, Darrell. He did an excellent job presenting his company, and I was very impressed with him. Unfortunately, out of 4 bids I have received, Darrell's bid was quite expensive. However, it will be 2 or 3 months before the work can actually begin. When the time comes, I'll give Darrell a call again to see if he can provide another bid similar to the other lower bids I received. And then we'll go from there. read more

We decided to do our front yard and court yard. So we reached out to several companies. From their response we chose Need For Build. Aviram called out and we went over what we wanted done. With everything i mentioned we wanted done. Aviram would always have a very prompt response with solid design ideas. Which was great. I had previous guys come out and they seemed to be going through the motions. So we decided to go with Need for Build and we were not disappointed. From day 1 until the finish, their team were always on top off it. If we needed to talk about something or change something (within reason) they were happy to listen and change what needed to be done. Their work has been excellent. Aviram was always quick to respond and had visited the site regularly. Their foreman was always checking on the work too and if we had questions or small issues, he would listen and deal with them. So much so we added some interior lighting to the project. Which were installed professionally and with great care. Everything they did was top notch and we wouldn't hesitate to hire them for future projects. I would highly recommend them. The finished article pictures are attached. The yard before the work was outdated and dying. We removed real grass for turf and they came up with a cool design. We extended the driveway too with pavers and were not disappointed with the result. read more

We have been working with Need for Build over the last 4 months on our backyard/patio remodel. It did not go well initially which is why I have given 4/5 stars, but the owner Danny stepped in and made sure that every aspect of our project was reviewed by himself and Avi (who took over management of the build) and met our expectations. The end result is beautiful and a wonderful change for our home. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done correctly and if we were not thrilled about any of it, they worked to correct it until we signed off. I've included some before and after photos. Our vision really came together in the end and we are thrilled and thankful to the team of people at Need for Build who helped to complete it.  Here's what we had done:  -Moved a retaining wall to add more patio space -Added 12 ft of concrete countertop with wax finish, plus tiled backsplash -Removal of old, rotting pergola and installed an Alumawood covered patio with recessed lighting -Removal of old glass patio doors and installed new sliding glass doors -Created new steps and pavers with step lights -Painted all retaining brick walls white -Additional misc. projects around the house I believe that part of the initial problem was bad luck and unclear expectations as their team had just suffered a hard loss and they were in a time of transition. Partly because of that, our project, and seemingly others who were working with them at the time, suffered because of it. I've provided a large amount of feedback and believe they have taken it all very seriously to make changes and I've personally seen that with our project. I would definitely work with them again and we are already getting a quote for another project in the near future.  I believe that everyone makes mistakes and should be given the opportunity to make things right. Need for Build did just that and it is why I would work with them again in the future. read more

I can't describe in words what I feel about this company, as a single mom that can easily be taken advantage, I can't appreciate enough the kind of treatment I got from this company, they just didn't leave me alone at any stage, from design all the way to the finished project they held my hand and showed me that a remodeling project shouldn't be stressful. Sagi, you are one of the most amazing person I met, thank you for letting me feel so comfortable throughout this whole process, I can't thank you enough. As for the crew, they were always on time, cleaned up after themselves and made sure to always update me on what's going to take place tomorrow, manny and Adrian you guys are awesome. I even had an opportunity to talk with Hila one of the owners, me and her had a blast over the phone. I've got 2 bathroom of my dreams thanks to the need for build team. And the price, not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive, I did my homework and took 4 estimates before I committed to go with need for build. Highly recommend need for build to whoever care about a quality work on an affordable price, with a vip type of service. Thanks again guys!!! read more

Thank you Need For Build for remodeling two amazing bathrooms for us. We signed up with NFB to do the two bathrooms first to see how they work before we sign on a much larger project. I contracted with NfB in Nov 2019 for a front yard do-over. I had been considering this project for several years and after several meetings with design consultant, Rachel came up with a plan. The project was started and completed in December 2019 and I'm just thrilled with it. Even with the economy crashing, making payment a little more challenging, I would do it again. The project manager, Chris and his paving, turf and landscaping crews were excellent and very professional to work with. Especially the paving crew. Super nice guys, did an excellent job. As with any project, there are last minute changes or corrections needed or desired. This company was very easy to work with, as well as being creative and flexible with the original design plan. I would definitely use them again.! read more

I bought a house with unfinished backyard and desperately wanted to make it usable. I called around several Landscape companies to get ideas and quotes and Need for Build was by far the most trust worthy and customer oriented company I came across. Rachel and Danny came out to look at the yard, listened to what I was envisioning, then showed me pictures of different projects they're working on to advise what would work best. They were very accommodating of my budget at the time and made sure I picked out quality materials at a good price by accompanying me to the store (I bought my own pavers and Need for Build installed it.) The guys that came out to install pavers was very polite, always cleaned up the work area when they left in the evening, and any little concern I might have along the way addressed it right away. The work was finished in less than two weeks and I ended up with beautiful paved backyard. I had big dream of planting different trees and plants to make it a luscious backyard so kept the dirt around the edges, but reality was working and gardening didn't go so smoothly for me. Gardening, I found out, is a lot of hard work and effort. After few months of trial and error, I called back Rachel to discuss putting finishing touches around the edges to make the backyard pretty much maintenance free. :) Again she gave me practical ideas that'd go well with my current pavers and I am excited to see the work started. Rachel is always a pleasure to work with, she is very conscious of your visions, budgets and gives very practical ideas to help with decision process. I can't wait to see the finished product! read more

We had been wanting to demo some structures in our yard and utilize the space with the continuation of a concrete Patio. Through my own research I discovered "Need For Build" and am so glad we chose them! Jerry and his team were incredibly clear, communicative, on time and on budget and most importantly, did a fantastic job! I'm sharing this because they are a family business, very switched on to the current safety protocols and my experience was stellar. They also have two separate contractor licenses-one for landscape work and the other for interior projects. It's more important than ever to cut to the chase to secure good resources. read more

NFB was outstanding on our outdoor project (excavation, retaining wall, vinyl fence, and paver patio). Each phase was completed by a group of folks who were well-skilled in their area. The project managers, Luke and Derek, were onsite daily to confirm the tasks for the day and that all tasks were completed fully and to our satisfaction. They went the extra mile by communicating with our neighbors as well to ensure they felt supported when the fence came down and was replaced. Ultimately the entire project was completed 30 days ahead of schedule and the backyard is now an oasis! Couldn't give this company a higher recommendation! read more

We had a kitchen fire last October and the entire situation was very chaotic and overwhelming for our family. We researched construction companies and came across Need For Build. We met with Rachel who arrived at our home with a reassuring and comforting smile. We discussed the project and she answered all of our questions. It was easy to decide to work with Need For Build and we are so happy that we did. Every person on their team was a pleasure to work with. Rachel made the shopping for kitchen restoration easy - she went with us to the showroom, made recommendations, listened to us and we worked as a team in making the decisions on what needed to be purchased. Her help in this process made the world of a difference to us and took the stress off of us by having her expertise and guidance. We had great communication with our project manager Rachel, she always let us know when to expect things to be done, who would be arriving, if there was a delay she let us know right away, she was very responsive in taking our calls and getting back to us and coming by to check on the work being done. The project turned out so much better than we expected! Just overjoyed with the entire process and really appreciate each team that all worked on the project. Thank you Rachel, Nadir & Danny for the spectacular care and service that your team gave us. Danny and Need For Build transformed our front yard beautifully. This was our first landscape job and we weren't sure who to trust. The 3D photos that Need For Build provides us before getting started were so helpful in giving us a clear vision of what we were working toward. I felt very confident in choosing to work with them and I am so happy that we did. We love our new front yard, the process was easy, the price was right, and they finished ahead of schedule. In response to Danny - the one star review was not based on price, it was based on process, expertise, and respect for the client's time. They sent someone who was not knowledgeable or able to help us determine what would work best for our needs. She was sent to deliver a cookie-cutter sales pitch, and kept trying to sell us on turf after we asked for alternatives. If you're going to demand half of a working day and then come in significantly higher than any other company, I would expect the PM to have some expertise in landscape design. If they came to our property in the past, it was not since we've been the owners. I obviously can't speak to quality of work, which many of the high reviews compliment, but I think it's important to be transparent with their process. Not our style of business. Unfortunately, we were really hoping this company would bring it's A-game given some of the reviews but we received far from that. After the "consultation," we felt completely defeated and exhausted. First, it wasn't a consultation, it was a 4.5 hour sales pitch. Yes, 4.5 hours. It was never communicated that we should expect to set aside half of a working day. They also want both homeowners present. They also didn't send a SME on landscape design, they sent someone to make a hard sale. The next red flag was she pushed turf from minute she walked in our backyard. What we wanted, and what I was clear about on the phone, was a qualified professional who could help us design the space, keeping in mind we have dogs and a kid. Instead, we ended up stating what we think we wanted and the quote was drawn up after that. There was zero help or expertise in helping us determine what was best for our property. We then asked to see two different options and that was like a curve ball out of left field. Again, we were driving this part with no help. Next, after we had a vague idea of what might work for us, she took measurements. The measurements were not accurate at first and she stated we would need to move a big section of gravel so that they could roll out only one piece of turf (again, still pushing turf), instead of cutting it. That would've drastically cut the space for our dogs and I was not okay with that. Turns out, the measurement was wrong. Back to the planning. There were other out-of-the-box "design" suggestions that just weren't going to work for us and we got the feeling that this was a one-size-fits-all sales pitch. Sorry, this is long-winded but rightfully so. We ate up half a day for an unsatisfactory experience. We also gave a budget in the beginning. Admittedly, a budget without knowing current industry pricing. This was within the first 10 minutes of the appointment. She did not say anything about working within our budget or suggesting alternatives. 4.5 hours later, she comes back with an initial quote that is double our budget. Now, in between that time she took measurements, sat us down to view their unnecessarily long PPT sales pitch about why they're the best, and drew up pricing. My husband had to take a work call (again, no idea we would need to set aside so much time), so she had to stop the presentation until both of us could be present again. We would be totally willing to set aside that time for someone who is knowledgeable about landscaping and who could walk us through a design that fits within our budget. This wasn't the case at all. She was very nice but it was a total hard sale and, honestly, a waste of her time too. It's a poor business model and everyone loses in the end. I feel bad that she is told she needs to go through a specific outline to complete a sale. She was so focused on that that she couldn't accommodate our needs at all. read more

So recently I went through about 8 or so quotes to get the back yard done. After talking to David the first time, by the next morning the quote was ready, unlike other who took 3 days to weeks or never even gave me a final quote. At first I were unsure how it was going to go because they were so quick they wanted to lock in a contract and offered us 20%discount then and there only. They are not the cheapest so the discount made them bit more comparable to others quotes. Originally we were looking to add a retaining wall roughly 3ft tall and 60ft long pushing the. Little hill in the back about 4 or 5 feet closer to the fence line. We also wanted to remove our grass area and put slab. The day we started the work Jonathan gave us an offer to replace existing concrete, price was fair so we went with it. The appearance would have bothered me with new slab and old slab and weird design not matching. Few days later Jonathan gave us another offer to do both sides of the house, but we were already in to a pricey project so eventually agreed to doing the larger side so that the kids could make use of it. In the end we did 2 of 3 sides of the house and the work went fast, the crew was respectful, quick and easy to work with. In the end the yard was over 3x the size of useable space. We now can have the kids bday parties here, easier for guest when I bbq,and just more room for the kids to run and play on. As far as the work some people lay rebar at 36x36 they do 18x18 roughly and the 3ft wall footing others offered 12x12 they did 18x18 as well, they do compaction a few times to make sure the floor is solid. All the work took almost 2 weeks, very quick. Pros: 1.Fast response to any issues 2.Friendly 3.They take pride in their work 4.Thank you flowers were sent after completion 5.They get the job done quickly. 6.12Yr. warranty on Concrete( larger than hairline cracks or uneven levels they will repair or replace) 7.15Yr. warranty on retaining wall.(leaning bubbling or cracking gets repaired or repalced) 8.Fuly licensed and insured, also they background checks on their workers, who are supposed to carry a card on them that can be verified.(I never asked to see one) Cons: 1.They didn't have dumpsters planned out for 2 different occasions, so I had a 15'x8' concrete pile on the asphalt and also same size pile with dirt. I have H.O.A so told them that cant happen again. They had the pile picked up the next morning for both times. 2.They didnt place plastic on the side of the house while pouring so I had some concrete on the side of the house. Luckily I had the exterior paint still so they removed what they could and painted over the rest. 3.Had to have them come back and clean the street and few spots of to make it look as it did originally. 4.Price wasn't the cheapest, but they are fully covered/insured as well as their workers and we needed that incase anything happens since our backyard faces a street we don't want the liability to fall on us if anything collapses. Overall we are happy with the work and the time frame they did a great job in the end. read more

We moved from the east coast and needed to upgrade our backyard. We contacted Need for Build and we're assigned an amazing project manager. Doron first told us he would be with us every step of the way. He was truly an amazing PM. We started with turf and then built a pool. Over the last year and a half Doron has been incredible to work with. He helped us with decisions, designs and pretty much everything. The estimate came in higher than what others quoted but I have never had a single issue or concern that Doron wasn't ready to fix or help with. Outside of our main project, doron helped fix broken stones, repaint walls that didn't match and a whole host of other things we have needed. It is literally hard to believe in these times you can get a contractor to show up, do the work, timely, for a fair price, and a quality result. If that is what you are looking for, you have found your company. I'm still literally floored that these guys are as good as they are when they really don't have to be in this market to remain competitive. I read one review where the potential client said he/she was pressured to do a project. To the contrary, for us, they wrote up a contract with 40k worth of work, and let me pick and choose, add/subtract all throughout the job and were completely flexible. The workers were respectful, timely, and resourceful. They came up with truly creative solutions for sometimes complex problems created by our own design choices. In terms of managing the project, Jonathan did what he said, and said what he did whenever I needed him to do it. This should be your contractor, for projects large and small. Allan and the team took an initial plan that was over our budget, and made some creative adjustments to fit it within our budget while retaining the most important parts of the plan for us. The NFB team was easy to work with in planning and execution. They took great care of our property during the demolition and construction. We are very happy with the way everything turned out. read more
