Since this was a small job and due to the holiday there was alot of back and forth of when they were able to do it. They were able to squeeze us in this past weekend and they did a great job with the countertop replacement and also replacing our old water valves and connecting our new faucet. Khoi has been in the business for awhile and knows what he's doing. He was able to point out some of the previous issues and give us tips for any future projects that we were looking to do. I would work with them again in the future for any future project. Pros: Professional, knowledgable and great price. Cons: A lot of back and forth with setting up a date for work. That went well so this year we asked them to do our second bathroom remodel. So each time we had a project that needed to be done we had a couple different bids just to see what options there are and always went back to New Life because, even though they are not the cheapest, they had the best ideas and were willing to work with us more than the other places seemed to. Richard, the founder, has great ideas. My husband and I have a rough idea of what we want but Richard's suggestions for all three of our projects helped us consider more possibilities which I really appreciate. We also enjoyed working with Junior who was the lead on our bathroom projects. He is easy to work with, communicates well, and was patient with our many questions and requests. He also had some great ideas for our bathroom that we wouldn't have thought of but enhanced the remodel. What other contractors were not willing to do, such as our pocket door for our bathroom, Junior worked out a solution to make it possible. He was somehow able to transform a dark, cramped, worn out space into something that looks like a showcase. He instinctively knew where to lift ceilings, reroute air ducts and take out walls to create an open, airy, and modern look. His workers (many of them have worked there for years) were incredibly polite and trustworthy. I couldn't believe how tidy and clean they always left the site. Richard always kept the project moving in a positive direction, gave me honest feedback and was sensitive to my budget. His right-hand man and Project Manager, Junior, was on-point and super responsive. The end-result is stunning, and I am getting compliments all the time. Jonathan is a consummate professional and did an excellent job of directing all of his team (flooring installation, tiling, counter installation, appliance/toilet installation, drywall, painting) for things to flow easily without much/any direction from me. There were several times where I just didn't have an opinion or knowledge to know how I wanted to "finish" things or was unable to come to a decision. I appreciated that Jonathan could recognize this, and offered suggestions/options for me to consider (and his helpful suggestions started even before I hired him - which honestly helped me select the flooring brand I went with and counters). I also would occasionally miscalculate how much material I needed and they would just magically appear. People talk about renos being stressful, but with Jonathan managing it that was just not my experience at all. He was cognizant of us "living through the reno" and scheduled his team so that our downtime was minimal. I am (unfortunately) extremely detail oriented and probably borderline anal, and he handled my occasional feedback gracefully for an end product that we are thrilled with. His subcontractors did a FANTASTIC job; super friendly, executed well, left their workspace very clean, and were super efficient. His flooring guy (Francisco) is so dedicated that he'd often stay well into the evening (which was a catch 22 for me because it is late, but he got all our flooring done so quickly!).
