We had Rachel out for a quote for a pool. She was fantastic! It was a very informative meeting and I learned a lot of things about pools, contractors and licenses. Once you see what goes into your construction projects (they do everything!) you can understand the quote better. Very competitive pricing and an attractive discount opportunity. We were really impressed! Will definitely be calling them and referring them in the future. read more

I've been thinking about remodeling my bathroom for the past 3 years. This year I finally had time to get to it and make it happen. I researched local RB/Poway companies and decided to go with Need For Build. They were the only ones that gave me an itemized quote on the spot which was super reasonable, and considering their great reputation everywhere it was a no brainer to just go ahead and sign up. They helped me design the bathroom of my dreams, finished my bathroom earlier then promised, there were no change orders, passed all inspections the first time and communicated every day as to what's the next step. They were not the cheapest but definitely worth every dime. If you want high quality, with no headaches and a smooth process, don't think twice. Call need for build. read more

Well, the owner did call and follow up. After our productive conversation, he asked me to change my review to 4 or 5-stars. I told him no and that my first experience was still valid and accurate, he didn't respect my answer and kept arguing with me about changing it. Unfortunately, now I understand the motive for his call, as he thought he could get a 4 or 5-star review. read more

I am updating this review to 5 star. They deserve a 5star review. After consideration of the service they provided, they really did a wonderful job to our driveways. read more

Need For Build - Finally, a good clean easy access sideyard and driveway. - General Contractors Near Me - Poway, California

Highly recommend! After a leak and mold removal we had a wood floor partially torn up and dry wall pulled off of a small bathroom and hallway. Project manager Doron gave us a thorough estimate and completed the job in only three days. The workers came on time and worked 10 hour days. They were amazing and the cleanup was perfect. Great workmanship-very happy! read more

We finally pulled the trigger on remodeling our bathroom after meeting with Danny. He recommended by a friend and we were immediately impressed by his dedication to delivering the bathroom remodel that we wanted. Danny arranged a meeting at a tile show room where he could share his vision for our bathroom. His experience as an interior designer really influenced the ultimate final product. His crew was courteous, professional, and on time. Throughout the remodel, Need for Build was available to answer any of our questions or concerns. They didn't over burden us with tedious calls or questions. We are extremely pleased with our bathroom and would happy to recommend Need for Build. The pictures speak for themselves. read more

We came across Need for Build from a recommendation both through work and through the Next Door app. We've had a couple of horrible "catch a contractor" type situations in the past with jobs left for me to complete when most/all of the money had been paid. Not this time - Danny and Avi came to our home, assessed our needs and tastes and wrote up a quote for a complete bathroom remodel. What made them stand out was that Danny provided some pretty creative and artistic design ideas on the spot and offered to meet us at the local Floor and Decor store to help decide on the final design while choosing the tile, grout color, etc. Their involvement through this phase and Danny's eye for design really made this part an enjoyable experience. Following that, the crews that were sent were incredibly efficient, clean and showed up like clock work every day. The bathroom came out on budget, on time and looks incredible! During the bathroom remodel, we decided to hire them for a second job - to replace our entire home's carpet with wood flooring. Quick tip.. I'd never recommend anyone to do two major constuction projects at the same time while living in the home - especially right before Christmas. But that was our own crazy decision. The flooring install progressed pretty quickly and Danny and Avi made sure that every little thing was taken care of before signing off and making final payment - and we were able to decorate everything in time for the holidays! What we realized afterward was that the way the floor installer put down the stairs was not what we had in mind. He has used a moulding/lip front edge rather than a flat "bullnose" design. It was not very comfortable when walking up and down. We brought it to Danny's attention and he brought out a crew to redo the stairs to our satisfaction! No arguing, no haggling for additional cost - just a great company standing behind their work. For these reasons, I will be using them again when we begin our next projects to improve our home. I highly recommend anyone else looking for a reputable and honest contactor to give Need for Build a shot. read more

Need For Build did an outstanding job modifying the side yard of our house. The job included clearing large sections of dirt, building a 3' by 50' retaining wall, and installing pavers. The cost estimate came in thousands less than the others I received for the same work. They started on schedule and had a time estimate of 2 to 3 weeks, but they actually finished in only 8 working days. They were very flexible and made changes to the plan at my request as the job proceeded. The work crews were all very polite and helpful; they cleaned up each day and left the final site looking excellent. Another good point is that David was both the salesperson and the project manager so he showed up every day to make sure the progress matched my expectations - I've had other company's sales people disappear once the sale has been made, but not David! read more

To be fair we didn't use them so I don't know their work. We had someone come quote us, and it was a HARD sale. They want you to sign instantly and they were by far the most expensive from the number estimates the guy was throwing out. read more

We hired Danny and Need for Build to replace the windows in the house we just purchased. The windows were 32 years old and in sad shape. During Danny's initial visit he explained the features and benefits of his windows and how they were superior to other products on the market. He gave us a fair price compared to the other vendors we met with and we signed the paperwork. Our windows were installed and the install team did a great job. They were fast, efficient and clean. What more can you ask for? What really impressed us is how Danny went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our purchase. He thrives on customer service and taking care of his clients. read more

We had our original 30 year old second bathroom completely redone by Avi. After several quotes from other companies that were out of our price range, to complete no-shows, we had a new bathroom in 2 weeks! Replaced the shower/tub combo with a walk-in shower, new vavity, toilet and tiled floor (love the tile). Avi and his team were up front, professional, on time and the "construction area" was clean every day. My husband and I did not have to be home even once during the entire process. Know your vision and Need For Build can build it. read more

5 mos later, one of our wall caps came loose. I contacted our Project Mgr, Ivan, and 30 minutes later, two N4B workers came and reattached the cap. I know it's not a big deal, but it's comforting to know that the relationship with N4B extends beyond the conclusion of the job. Ivan was our first contact with N4B and was instrumental in resolving our initial drainage problem. Drainage is no longer a concern on our property! The second phase of our job was an extensive paver project. This project came out GREAT! We are continually getting compliments on all the work N4B has completed for us. I highly recommend N4B and Ivan, he is hard working, positive and truly cares about his clients and his jobs! read more

We met with a total of 3 contractors before deciding to go with Need For Build to build a retaining wall and replace our existing fence. Avi was great to deal with as was his office staff and crew and their pricing was competitive. They were all friendly and professional and the crew showed up every day on time. We had to make a couple of changes during the job all of which were handled in a timely manner and our job was actually completed ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Need for Build for indoor or outdoor projects. read more

Our patio was in bad shape and getting worse. The wooden frame cover had dried rot in several areas and mold/fungus growth from leaks through bad built. Original owner decided to use rectangle red bricks to do the flooring, which of course became uneven over the years. We basically can't use our patio. Our friend had their whole backyard remodel by Need for Build around the beginning of the year, and we really like how it was done. My friend is an extreme exacting type of person, down to the millimeter of everything! So when he actually recommended the a company, we won't need to interview anyone else. Rachel was in charge of our project and was so helpful and there every step of the way! The crews (Fernando, George, and the men) were all so awesome and very professional. They came when they said so and took down and removed our old patio within two days! We choose to have plain concrete patio and not the stamped color one so we can match our existing side. It took the team one week for completion from start to finish. We absolutely love our new patio, and have been showing it off. It has been a pleasure working with Rachel and the crew members from Need for Build. They may not be cheapest but not the most expensive either...they will work with your budget and work with you on all level. Rachel even explained how to check companies license to see if they are up to date on license, bond, worker comps, and any complaints against them. Overall, we are very please and have recommended to our friends. read more

We did not have a very good in home estimate experience with Need for Build, but the company was very responsive to my feedback and patiently listened to our side of the story and constructive criticism. We will not be using Need for Build, so my feedback is for the initial experience. We made an appointment to have an estimate done on having our front grass replaced with turf and a river rock border. Two employees came on time and were courteous, knowledgable and great representatives of the company. The problem came when what we had assumed would be a 30 minute discussion and measure turned into a 90+ minute meeting, where we reviewed all of the details of their accreditations, insurance, examples of interior remodel projects and other items prior to the presentation of the estimate for our project. While it is impressive, I feel that info might be better to cover in such detail once a client has agreed to the project. I think that it would be helpful that when the appointment is set that the potential client is told that how long they should expect to set aside for the appointment. Also helpful to discuss potential budget in advance as well to make sure both parties are close to "the same page" as far as cost goes. At the end, the project came in much higher than we had anticipated and we decided to not continue, but we were impressed with their employees. read more

I researched many companies prior to selecting Need For Build to demo two large sections of block wall and install vinyl fencing in my backyard. Even tho they won't the cheapest, I l chose Need For Build because of Rachel's professionalism when making her presentation and the fact that they had their own employees (no subs) and they would do both the demo and install of the fencing. The demo and fencing involved getting buyin from three neighbors and an HOA. Rachel did a fantastic job putting all the docs together to obtain approvals. The demo work was challenging, but Gus and his sons did an outstanding job. The fence looks amazing and all the neighbors involved are very happy with the outcome! Thanks to Gus, his sons, and Rachel for all of their hard work and dedication on a job well done! read more

So after an initial bad experience and review I was contacted by one of the owners of the company. He was extremely apologetic and said this is not how they do their work or run their company. He explained he wanted to set up an appointment to personally come out with a different project manager to get a quote for me and make sure i receive a real 5 star experience. I appreciate a company that is willing to own up to mistakes and try to right them so said I am more then happy for them to come out and that I wouldn't hold my first experience against them. The follow up appointment was much better to say the least and hoping the rest of the job goes just as well. As of right now we are planning with moving forward with Need for Build and signing a contract and will update after the job has been completed. I look forward to working with Jim and Nadir and hope everything progresses smoothly from here. read more

Look no more!!!! This company is really one of a kind, a true family owned and operated company that really puts he customer in the center of attention. The service I got from them you'll never expect from a construction company, it's more fit to the best hotel you've ever stayed in, a true 5 star service. Jonathan went with us to choose every single stone and every single detail for our project, this guy is so creative and knowledgeable it's just amazing. He called us every morning with an update, and visited our job every single day to check on the progress and the workers, if something went wrong he will fix it right away no excuses and no questions asked. We are so luck we met this guy, and thus why I'm writing this review so other people will also get to experience what I did. They might not be the cheapest, but they are by far the best. For the process they are doing their prices are super reasonable. Highly recommended, do yourselves a big favor and hire them. Ask for Jonathan you'll thank me later. read more

We contacted Need For Build to help us remake our back patio. Moriya was our project manager and she was excellent. The team she put together was awesome too. They were courteous, accommodating, professional, kind and creative. They took our desires and put them into practice. Our backyard is now a place that we love to be in and spend time in, whereas before, I dreaded even looking out there with all the work that needed to be done. We found dry rot outside of our home and contacted many contractors to help us with this project and need for build was the obvious choice to us. They were quick to respond and sent out a team to take a look at the damages. Dereck and Rico where extremely helpful and made sure we understood everything that was happening. After speaking with them and going over all their licenses and why we should trust them it made us feel very comfortable knowing they had the knowledge and experience to tackle this project. On top of that they came in with the most affordable pricing out of any other local contractor we spoke with. So much so that we were able to add on new gutters to our home as well as replace our front porch steps that was also affected by rot. In the end the work turned out amazing and even though they where the most affordable I must add NO CORNERS WERE CUT. They went out of their way to get the best materials for the project and even found the matching panels for our wall after I was told by others it wouldn't be possible to match. Avraham and Mariano did an amazing job fixing everything and going above and beyond to even add some new hardware and a support to our patio cover (no charge to us) after seeing it was not in the best shape. Need for build offers so many services I know who I will continue to call for any other future projects. read more

The team was fast, friendly, and efficient. They listened to what I wanted and accommodated my requests while the project was in progress. We had a couple of snags due to inclement weather, but the guys were all back on the job as soon as the rain stopped. Everything looks great and makes the space look sooo good! We hired Need for Build to complete a front/side yard yard renovation. The team turned a yard that had not been landscaped in over 40 yrs into an updated outdoor space our family will enjoy. Avi lead his team to complete re-grading of the property and driveway. Installing stamped concrete patio, walkway, and driveway. Renovating our outdated irrigation system, laying new sod, and even planting all the plants that we had chosen. Avi was professional and attentive to all work being completed in our new space. Tommy the project manager was understanding, timely, efficient and the reason we chose Need For Build. He stayed well into the evening to reassure us and walk us through EVERY step and option. He was empathetic, caring and resourceful. Need for Build far exceeded our expectations and we look forward to working with them in the future. The work was beautiful ( concrete and pavers + a border of concrete on the other side) and my moms fear of contractors has subsided. Need to build was good about answering questions via the yelp message option and was able to come out for a late afternoon appointment. Where things fell apart was when I tried to do the follow up and the actual onsite appointment. When I spoke with the young lady who called to confirm from the office - I asked that the employee coming out please text me vs ringing my doorbell as I have dogs and I did not want them to bark and get worked up. This was not communicated when the employee came out. Additionally when David came out I asked for three quotes and he was Exceptionally hesitant to give me the quotes. He seem to only want to talk about the first quote which was for concrete slab. When I asked him why not the other two options which was a sunroom or construction build he kept telling me how there were so many so many so many options. I told him it didn't make any sense as someone in the construction field he would be able to tell me which type a sunroom kids would be the best option and Know which vendors would offer them here in San Diego locally. While trying to steer the appointment back on track David kept bringing up my backyard landscape which is in progress as we are converting to zero scape. He started trying to sell me on artificial turf telling me that they had the best brand and I told him we didn't want artificial tour that we were going to do zero scape and thanked him but I told him I really wanted to finish talking about the construction quote that I was trying to get. I asked him if he could email me the information he told me yes he took down my email address and then when I tried to follow up with the office I was told they do not email quotes. During the on-site visit David wanted to go over the history of the company and sell me on the fact that they were licensed contractors and other information like that and I told him I was really only interested in the quotes as I am working with the bank and need the information in writing. I made two attempts to get the quotes and I was told only if they could come back out to my home and do the company history presentation and then they would review the quote but no emails. So told thanks but no thanks. read more
