We had a problem with rodents entering our house through the attic and crawl space. It got so bad that we started to get bug bites from what I think were dust mites. Of all of the people that we had give us a quote, Nector's quote and proposed fix was the most reasonable. Nector and his team covered up all possible entryways into our house with wire mesh and placed baited traps throughout the house. Nector then had somebody return regularly to check the traps. We ended up removing something like 10 rats from the house! It's been over 6 months since the last rat was removed and it's a relief not to worry about rodents any more. Thanks Nector! read more

The trick with Nector is follow up. I was upset with his work but he came back and did more work and the rats finally vanished. I think the kind of work he does is tricky because there are so many ways rats can sneak into your home and we lived next door to a big community garden so the rats use all kinds of tricks to get shelter from the rain. Don't let your kids leave Halloween candy unless it's totally sealed up. At the first sign of rats you have to be super aggresive--which we weren't, as you can't ignore the slightest sign of them. Nector eventually saved us!! read more

The team responded quick after the quote and for the first visit. It would be a happy ending story there if my rat issue got resolved. Unfortunately, it's not. The rat issue in the garage keeps ongoing for the next 6 months and the response from the team is more and more reluctant. The last straw is today - the trap caught another rat (Thursday) and they offer to come and handle it the next Monday? Remember 2 months ago I got ghosted on the scheduled follow up appointment? My patience has run out for this company - the past 6 months just proved their timely follow up/maintenance promise cannot be trusted. Fine, I will start handling this myself. This is recommended by one of my friends but experience turned out horrible. To all, you get a better chance to get this type of issue resolved by installing plenty of cameras and figure out where to block. And I wish I had read all the one star warnings (especially those reviews with comments on how horrible the promised folllow up would look like, please do yourself a favor to read all of them) - those are all real and proved to be true again in my case. This $1k cost doesn't live up to any sort of expectation if you wish to get rid of the rats. Period. read more

Had them rodent proof the home with 13 months warrenty in July. In August, there were dropping in the attic and rodent noises. Tried to reach them but the guy hung up after picking up. What kind of business is this. Stay away.... read more

-Unlicensed and unreliable My tenant called me and told me a foul smell was coming from the crawl space, so I got onto Yelp and found Nector's Rodent Proofing. They were not my first, second, third or forth choice, but their reviews seemed positive and everyone else was booked 3 - 4 weeks out. The next day Nector came out on time and did the free inspection and told us that he too smelled a foul odor coming from the crawl space so he got one of his people to come out in 30 minutes. So far so good. Once the guy got under the house he discovered the cause of the smell, a broken pipe that caused a pool of water scum that built up. He also found "the bones" of a dead rat.   To remove the bones of a dead rat he normally charges $280 !! but told me he would wave that cost if I allowed him to rodent proof the unit, which would cost $700, so it would only cost me $420.  I agreed and that is when he told me that he could repair the water leak too.  I thought, great, now I don't have to look for a plumber, so we scheduled everything with the tenant for the following Friday at 9:00 am and that is when everything started to go down hill fast. Problems: -People within this company do not communicate well among themselves. --Nector does not give out his cell phone number so you can never get a hold of him. -The plumber never showed up on Friday as per our agreement -The people rodent proofing never completed the job on Friday as promised. It took them 3 days. -Karen, the person who answers the phone did not know the terms of the agreement and kept telling my tenant and myself we did not have our information right. -Then Nector and I had a dispute with the final bill. Nector told me that the entire bill would be $700 and not $420 as he explained at the outset. Once again this could be another communications problem and maybe I just misunderstood Nector, but the invoice clearly showed $700 minus $280 for the pest removal. After all the above problems, I checked with the California Contractors State License Board and called the Structural Pest Control Board and THEY TOLD ME these people did not have a license to practice their trade. What does this mean to you? If anyone from the company injures themselves on the job, they can sue you! Check with your insurance company and they will tell you the same thing. My insurance agent recommended that I NOT use them again for this very reason. If you still want to take a chance with these people, ask them for their "contractors license number" and then check it with the CCSLB & SPCB. read more

I contacted Nector as mouse/squirrel droppings were found in my attic. Nector come out the next day to assess the work and give me an estimate. Proofing was placed, traps were set; the work was comprehensive and took care of the rodent problem successfully. Nector and his team were professional, communicative, managed expectations well, and focussed on efficiency. I would recommend Nector and team for any pest proofing work . read more

Best Service ever!!! Nector and Efrain are honest, reliable, efficient. No more rats!!! read more

If you value your time and your hard earned money - don't hire them. They give you a sales pitch to get you to sign up for a one year contract. Then, after you have paid and you try to get them to come out to perform the service you paid for, you will get the run around!! When you try to schedule appointments everyone gives you excuses and stories from the receptionist, to the techs, to the owner. They will schedule appointments but not show up! It's clear as day what's going on here - you are getting strung along until the one year expires. They take your money promising one year of service but never show up past the first or second visit (if you are lucky enough to get a second visit). Stay away.....total rip off. read more

Professional. Dependable. Knowledgeable. Accessible. Reliable. Capable. Competent. Honest. Effective. From the first phone call to the final check-up, Nector's was great to work with. And the mice have moved on. Right from the start, Karen (the gate-keeper/scheduler) was both efficient and caring. After so many dead-ends from other companies (answering machine messages, out-on-vacation emails, 'don't handle mice' responses) it was great to get an immediate response from a real person who was really nice. Nector, the owner, showed up within 24 hours and did a thorough check--inside and out--of the house, identifying possible rodent entrances. He then walked us through his four-week plan, explaining where he'd patch and where he'd trap. They did everything they said they'd do and more. Plus, their service comes with a one-year guarantee, so if any new "visitors " return during that time, they resume the service at no extra cost. If you ever need to evict uninvited rodent-guests, (and if you live in San Francisco, you ultimately will) I highly, highly recommend Nector's Rodent Proofing. read more

Nector took over a job that was started by another contractor. Thank goodness he did! He went over all of the missed spots the old contractor missed and did a fantastic job with the garage, it's sealed and looks great. A+ work. Working with Nector has been great too. He has always been on time and quick to return calls. Very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend Nector for your pest control job! read more

I called Nector's in a panic after seeing a mouse in my house. They came right away (within 48h) and fixed the problem, putting out traps and plugging the actual holes. While the worker was often late, they communicated to let me know and the service was always completed with a smile. I'm super grateful and would highly recommend them! read more

The BEST ever!! I have a business in the Presidio National Park, and there are rodents *everywhere* - we had been trying for years to control them with other pest control companies. After lots of searching and getting quotes, we met Nector and his team. They are super professional, affordable, and get the job done. The rats in our building have gone from an uncontrollable crisis down to a manageable annoyance, in just the first month or so. Every time we find one, Nector comes out right away, cleans it up, and finds the hole and patches it asap. He did a great job on building exclusion, which is going around our building and finding every hole and patching it up. This has helped tremendously. Nector isn't afraid of doing the "dirty work" required to get this nasty job done. Always super friendly and responsive. I recommend Nector to ANYONE looking to get the pesky rats out! read more

Hector charged me big bucks but his workers did lousy work and I have to have it redone. Also missed a lot of gaps or holes. I even had to point out to the the worker what he missed. Two times the worker didn't show up for an appointment. After calling them waited long time for some one to get back to me. Lousy customer service. Would not recommend him at all. read more

this was probably the most expensive hole fill in recorded history. For $900 I got a hole filled with spray foam, traps set, checked once and that is all... not one rodent was caught in the traps which were left out for a month.. ants enjoyed the bait.. next time I will hire a contractor, have the hole filled permantly, set my own traps, and save $800 read more

We had rodent problems in the attic and I went on line and called several companies for inspection. It was quite overwhelming to deal with all the different estimates for each service being offered. Our friend recommended Nector - he came and did the inspection and explained the whole process thoroughly. He is knowledgeable and very professional as well as his colleagues, Carlos and Efrain. They did a great job. They were also good with the follow up visit to check the traps. We are extremely pleased with their work and would highly recommend their services. read more

Nector and his team are nothing short of professional! We have been stressing about a rat issue in our garage attic for months. They have sealed up our roof and garage holes, set traps at every possible area, as well as vacuumed and disinfected all affected areas. What I appreciate the most is that Nector and his team do not hesitate to readily come back to check on their traps, especially when there is suspicion that a rat has been caught (which always was the case). They are very responsive and very reliable to their word. We are thoroughly happy that we invested in Nector and his team because the work they do really proves that they do want to do a good job! We would recommend Nector and his team to anyone. And if you're not sure, take them up for the free inspection -- you won't be disappointed! read more

It was a pleasure dealing with Nector. His recommendations to prevent rodents to enter my dad's property was spot on. His pricing was reasonable and he and his crew worked tirelessly to get everything done in one day. There was a lot of junk laying around the property and for an added fee (again very reasonable) he hauled a truckload away!! One of his workers accidentally damaged a garden hose and in a couple of days Nector replaced it with a new one. read more

I am so glad we found Nector! He is very responsible and professional. I had a skunk family living under my house and as soon as Nector came, he found the problem within 1 day a family of 5, YES 5, skunks left our house. After that, he took his time to clean and repair the damage. Nector also proved that he was a great handy-man because he helped me with some other repair projects. I recommend Nector's Rodent Proofing for anyone who needs a service like this! read more

I'm really impressed with Nector and his crew. They provided a free quote and answered my numerous questions quickly. They came on time and did a great job sealing the house entirely and spent 1.5 hours just vacuuming the attic. They were very professional, thorough and their quality of work was excellent. They also came back twice to check on the traps and caught a rat. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. read more

As of the date of this review, I finally am rat free. I struggled with rats for the past few months. They were in my garage, in my heating vent, and in the ceiling. We tried home remedies (glue traps, snap traps, cage traps) and nothing worked. I called out a competitor and spent more than $600, but the rats remained. With the competitor no-showing on me several times and showing up late even more times, I finally called Nector. As another reviewer noted, Nector was on time for each appointment, if not early. He and his staff were friendly and knowledgable. He found entry points that the prior company missed and sealed those entry points. The best part is that there is a warranty for his service if I hear more rats. In addition to helping with the rat issue, Nector did a dry-wall repair, texturing to match current ceiling texture, and re-painting. He was fast, clean, and reasonably priced. read more

Nector's Rodent Proofing was professional, courteous and efficient. Nector gave me a quote for services, I accepted, he did very good work. He pointed out entries for the rodents and kept returning until the traps were empty. He did excellent work at my home. I am very happy with my experience. read more

I don't know how my first review of Nector's Rodent got taken down when I updated my review. Anyway, I decided to write another one when I found out that his previous employers (Javier and Diana Valencia) were up to no good again. I was con by these two people when I initially started dealing with Nector's Rodent Proofing. Javier came across as a very trustworthy person and one I wanted to do business with. That was the biggest mistake I made. He took my money and never came back to finish the job. When I called the company and Javier, they never picked up my phone call. I left voice messages and text messages and they never got back to me. It was only when I wrote a very negative review that Hector (the owner of Nector's Rodent Proofing) found out what had happened. Apparently, Diana had blocked my number from the company's phone system so that everytime I called it would go directly to voice mail. He came out on a Sunday and looked at the job and took away the dead rat that has been in my basement for a month (this is the same rat that Diana came out and saw on the trap and left without removing it. I ended up having a fly problem and had to fumigate my basement to kill all the flies). Anyway to make a long story short, I left a very negative review for their company (Cheetah Rodent Pro) and I guess business slowed down. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NECTOR'S RODENT PROOFING BECAUSE HECTOR IS A VERY HONEST AND TRUTHFUL PERSON. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WHEN YOU DEAL WITH NECTOR'S RODENT PROOFING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU TALK DIRECTLY WITH HECTOR AND NO ONE ELSE. ONCE YOU MAKE CONTACT WITH HECTOR, HE WILL HAVE YOU TALK TO SOMEONE TRUSTWORTHY IN HIS OFFICE. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT DEAL WITH JAVIER OR DIANA EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY ARE FROM NECTOR'S RODENT PROOFING. read more

I cant say enough about Nector's Rodent Proofing. As a long time San Francisco resident I have used other services that did not perform as much as Nector's. After having a second opinion, I found that Nector has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Even his competitor said that they "cannot match his work", which I thought was a huge compliment. The is a process that takes several visits sometimes and with each call, Nector has ALWAYS responded....maybe not right away...but he responds. I highly recommend Nector's and trust that he IS THE MAN for the most problamatic jobs and well worth every dollar!! read more

After signing a year contract w Nector's to resolve attic and crawl space rat activity in our new home, all access were sealed off. They took the time to carefully and thoroughly walk my property and inspect it in great detail. They found every little access from the roof top to the ground and left traps in the attic and crawl space. For 4 weeks, the traps were checked and were clear! All problems were solved immediately. A few weeks later I noticed a lot of outside rodent activity around our outdoor furniture at night. First, they cane out to lay a few traps. Then Nector's came back out to empty the traps and cleared away several nests along our fence and behind climbing Jasmine. They trimmed down the climbing Jasmine with my approval. They sprayed a solution that is harmless to pets and people but with a scent that rats dislike under my patio furniture (peppermint smell). Nector's cleaned away all the landscaping debris, hosed down any mess, swept and thoroughly completed the job. They will continue the service as needed every couple of months. I couldn't be more pleased. They are polite, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend Nector's and will continue their services as needed. read more

They were great! We had rats running along the fence at night and they started showing up in our backyard during the day. Nector did a great job at our house! Very professional, responsive, also updated us well with the current status and next steps. They came for proper follow up visits. Nector recently completed a job for us on behalf of another company and was great to work with. He was on time (and actually was early, which was refreshing) and really had all the technical knowledge to open walls to try to find our rodent issue. He also did all the cement work (we had a hole in the other side of the wall that was allowing water in) and covered up all the openings as we searched for the terrible odor caused by a dead animal. He worked over the Christmas weekend and drove all the way from San Jose twice (to SF) to help us resolve the issue. read more

Highly recommend this service, super reasonably priced and very well worth it; I wish I had done it all sooner.
