Not true! (Look at the pictures attached!!) We stepped out to try to figure out what was going on. They were all couples, dressed upscale according to the dress code and completely sober. I understand if you're not dressed up, acting disorderly, or a walk-in trying to pay at the door, but that was NOT the case. It was all our first time at Nebula so it's not like our friends were previously banned from there or any where else! My husband and I were even seeing partygoers inside that were dressed way too casual compared to any of us! Meanwhile the employees and bouncers kept repeating "it's not up to us" and turning their heads and backs to ignore us. They also promised a refund for our friends but how?! BULLSHIT. My friends and i were eager to visit Nebula to celebrate my sister's 21st birthday. However, we were refused service due to one of the employees not letting someone in my party in because he was wearing a tank top. We are visitors to NYC and very understanding of dress codes we are not familiar with. We proceeded to the back of the line and had him dressed in a blazer to cover up his tank top. When we approached the front of the line we were still refused service. I find dress codes of this nature out dated and tacky, however; the treatment we were given by your employee was demeaning and inappropriate. I would like to write a public review for future patrons. Very bad service as the door and inside, very sleepy, not run well. The doorman basically decide who they like enough to let in(regardless of whether or not you have a promoter), decide what the cover is and change it depending on the person, overcharge or ask for additional tips to let people in because of small things they find wrong with your outfit, (such as heels not high enough, dress not fancy enough, etc... ) and are just overall rude and disrespectful. I was on the VIP list, and when my friends and I got in line, the blonde woman at the front gave us a dirty look and told us to get into the normal line and cut us off before we could say anything. This place absolutely sucks, DO NOT go here for any sort of event. I booked tickets to Third Party for their show which was October 12 2024, because they have always been one of my longtime favorite producers and I have always wanted to see them. I pulled up 15 minutes before opening, wearing Khaki shorts and my Third Party t-shirt. I tried to ask the security guards questions about set times and venue policies, got no responses, they just ignored me. I waited in line until 11, which was when I was not allowed to get in because I was wearing khaki shorts. I had to run back to my car to put on a pair of jeans. When I finally got back to the front entrance, there was no line for ticket holders (like myself) but a huge line for people buying tickets up front (which is probably why it got so crowded). When I was able to get into the venue, the place looked atrocious. Absolutely zero dance floor space. When Third Party came on, people pushed and shoved. A group of 5 guys (who barely even looked to be 21) to my right hand side kept jumping up and down nonstop, stomping on our feet and taking up so much space. Young club girls all around me were pushing and shoving me out of the way to get to the front because "they are girls and they can do whatever they want." I was solo, and couldn't take it after an hour so I left an hour into Third Party's set. Even though the first hour of their set was so amazing, the unfriendly staff, zero support for partygoers, absolutely rude and entitled people, and no dance space made this event horrible and I wish I never booked tickets. Tried to go to an event this past Wednesday for Brent Faiyaz. The security didn't let me in because I didn't have a f*cking passport. It was like he was letting certain people in. I had my ID. And he let my friends in and they had fake IDs. I am actually 21 and they were bugging. I'm very disappointed and they tried to not give me a refund but I got my refund. Best believe. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I went to this club last night to celebrate my 23rd birthday. However, it turned out to be my worst birthday yet. I was physically assaulted by a bouncer. I was talking with my friend by the bar when a bouncer grabbed me. He began pushing me and using force to drag me out of the bar. I am a small girl, weighing only about 110 pounds. I am appalled that so much aggression was applied to someone who cannot be considered a threat. I asked why I was dragged out, as I had only one drink that night and was not bothering anyone. The bouncer just pushed me harder until I was outside without my jacket. I asked the bouncer outside if I could go back inside to get my jacket. I still wasn't sure why I was dragged out, but no longer wanted to be there because of the physical assault I just went through. They refused to let me inside to retrieve my items. I had to BEG them to bring my coat outside to me. And after asking them 10 times, they got my coat and dropped it on the ground. They wouldn't even hand it to me. It was 30 degrees last night, and I was standing outside in just a dress. I can't believe I was treated with so much disrespect. I will never go to this club again, and my friends won't either. No one should be physically assaulted by the staff. No one should be physically assaulted by the people who are there to help you. I had such high expectations for this club. I went to this club with a friend while visiting from out of town. It was a pretty nice venue overall. The cover charge was $30 and the coat check was $5 each, all cash only. My biggest complaint is that they charge for water. I asked multiple bartenders for just a cup of tap water and they said they only sell bottled water for ~$5.50. They were also very small bottles. There was a drinking fountain by the bathroom but it was turned off. I really consider this a big issue and safety risk because water should be more easily accessible while drinking. read more
