They said they would try a few things, but weren't optimistic. Well, I'm glad I didn't listen. I did a 5 minute search on Google that led to an article that took me through (step-by-step) fixing the problem in 3 minutes. My computer was immediately back to being FULLY functional with no loss of data or programs. I guess this would be a 5 start review had someone said: those are hard errors to fix, but we can look online and research to see if there are fixes out there for this type of problem. I would have left them my computer. But would they have searched or just come to the conclusion that a wipe of the computer was the only fix? Note: I consider myself to be very computer literate and only went looking for "expert" help when I couldn't figure out a resolution. In hindsight, I now realize i could have done a google search earlier and saved myself a trip.

I definitely should have came here first! Jeff looked at my laptop right away while I was sitting there. They tried to find the root of the issue and I was able to sit there and watch what was going on. He also was talking me through what he was doing and why he was doing it, which really put my nervous mind at ease. Their prices were very reasonable (although it sucks to pay $200 for a new laptop screen) and they called me when my laptop was going to take longer than originally expected to fix. They even stayed later than their office hours so that I could pick up my laptop after work. Totally trust these guys and would come back here in a heartbeat - if my computer needs it again (KNOCK ON WOOD).

Granted it was a quick check and I asked them specifically to look at one component but it still says a lot about the type of operation they run at Microtime Computers. Most recently I screwed up the installation of a graphics card and I thought I fried my PSU in the process so I brought my system in and they tested it for me. Sure enough, I killed the PSU. I asked what my options were/if they thought I killed other components and the guy told me it was possible that I did but it would be $90 to take a close look. He recommended I buy a new PSU, plug everything up and hope for the best considering I would need a new PSU regardless. If I was having troubles he told me to bring it in first thing Monday and they'd evaluate the whole situation for me. I got lucky and everything survived, system started right up with a new PSU. They could've charged me the $90 and then told me all I needed was the PSU but they didn't do that. I'll be back whenever I have an issue I can't deal with by myself.
