Our company retains NBM for tech support for our copier. With only five employees and minimal tech knowledge in-house, we most typically have some odd, random need, but NMB treats our requests as if we were an important, big money customer. Our account rep answers his phone, which is impressive in itself nowadays, and any issue that needs a call back is turned-around quickly. Seems like the copier is out of ink or having a major issue right when we need it most! Never never get involved with them. They give you a deal to hook you in then your are stuck either them year after year you need to renew your contract with water and water turned. Please, be careful and do not get involved with NBM. This is unfortunate that they make so much efferent if catching people companies and making business in one Customer as they get steak with NBM and no where to go as you cannot get out of the contract. Instead of making you a happy castanet so you want to come back to them years after year. I do jot even want to talk about their tech support. You call them every week because the machine you lease form them need a fix every week after using it a few month. I leased an OKI 942WT for my stationery business from NBM and my sales rep was Eli Olsen. In the beginning I was only shopping around and his customer service skills were amazing! He convinced me that I would be making the right decision and made sure that the printer was what I was looking for. He answered my questions within minutes at all times!! If you buy/lease any printer from NBM then you want to talk to Eli and nobody else I am VERY, VERY particular when it comes to the wedding invitations I create for my clients. The short version is I ordered a printer/copier/scanner for my small business. I explained several times that we are a Mac business and the equipment must work with a Mac and the tech setting up must be Mac knowledgeable. I was told by both my salesman and the woman who called a few days prior to delivery that they will send out the best Mac tech that they have. I hired my IT guy to be onsite during the setup incase of problems. They did not send the best Mac guy as both the tech guy and salesman admitted. After 5.5 man hours and several calls to Konica Minotta level 2 support, neither my IT guy nor their tech guy could get the scanner to work. Next day salesman assures me that they will pick up the unit and get me another one that works. A week goes by then everything changes. They will not pick up the machine, they want to send another tech out who can rig the unit to work using a 3rd party log in service or maybe keeping an open unsecured port but is subject to others accessing. Not acceptable to me. I said to pick up the machine as they said they would and we will explore other options. Salesman says sorry it's to late. (I later found out that they sold by lease to a 3rd party company knowing full well that the machine was not working or even hooked up and that it would not work with my system). I am getting monthly bills from the leasing company that I refuse to pay and Northern Business Machines is sending me monthly network bills for a machine they could not get working. The leasing company has filed a complaint to NBM but NMB will not return calls to me. Do not do business with them. read more

I have been dealing with NBM's Service Dept for more than 20 years and everyone from the Service Dept Call In Center to the Technicians are exceptionally polite, efficient and very knowledgeable. When I place service calls, I never get an answering machine, always get a person who updates the status of my service call so I know when the tech is coming. The techs do a great job of repairing the machines and know them inside out. They research extensively when they need too and the machine is never down for very long. I would highly recommend them. Given what passes for Customer Service these days, NBM really knows the meaning of the word and excels at it!!!!!. read more

I called for service. I have 2 copiers. I have paid for a maintenance agreement for quite a while. Today, a man came, although late. As he was looking at my machine he called his office, and apparently, the machine with an ID was not under the agreement. It had been maintained before, but somehow it was not recorded anymore. They were trying to tell me that a copiers whose value was under $2k deserved a nearly $800 annual maintenance agreement. To me this was tantamount to stealing money from me. There are other facts but I will leave this for another time. To make things even more outrageous, I was sent a bill for $150, In response I sends them a consumer fraud letter pursuant to chapter 93a. read more

Great experience using NBM for service on our corporate printer maintenance and repair in Burlington. Dealt with Gina on the customer service end who was pleasant, accommodating and made sure we were taken care of. Just awesome. We were sent technician Robert who was pretty great as well. He went above and beyond, fixing what we asked but also letting us know of other things he noticed and good tips to keep in mind. Very friendly, courteous, and professional. I didn't actually use this company for any technical needs, but I called HR because one of their techs was parked (legally as they have commercial plates) in a resident spot and there were no other spots left for me to park on my street. They were so kind and friendly and asked the tech to move his car and he did. I am so grateful for their kindness! read more
