The service seemed great at the time, but there were two problems with the extremely expensive desk chair I bought due to back back pain. First, I repeatedly said I needed lowere back support, something they seemed to be unable to provide as I needed. After all those thousands of dollars on the chair, I had to eventually just buy a cheap lower back eupport from Amazon that fits fine. So the chair did not provide the ergonomic lower back support I needed. which was my main reason I went to such an expensive store. Second, I said I had cats and that the fabric was too similar to a scratching post and would scratch it to death. They completely lied and claimed the fabric was definitely the most cat proof they had. It wasn't at all, just as I thought. So I've had to tie it all around with sheets to protect the fabric so that the chair looks ridiculous. I will have to hire a seamstress to create truly cat-proof fabric all over the chair. I initially rated the service as fantastic but only later discovered they lied. The chair provided zero low back support and the fabric was the opposite of cat-proof. So while I considered the service fantastic at the time, they totally scammed me by selling me a chair that did NOT relax my back with sufficient support and lied about the cat-proof fabric. read more

I cannot say enough about the Relax the Back team in Newton. Cat and Lisa are exceptional and spend so much time with me that I feel like family. I continue to come in and consult with them on my medical issues. They are very technical in their suggestions and explain why some products are the best for my conditions vs. others. I am writing to update my previous review. Though there was miscommunication initially between the store and the manufacturer, Chris the manager of the RTB store provided us excellent service. He made 3 trips to to our home (30 min drive away) first to give us a replacement chair, then to pick up chair parts that were mailed me to me instead of the RTB store that was fixing our chair and finally to deliver our repaired chair. He was also in touch with us via phone and the scheduling worked well - he showed up when he said he would. We would return to this store again. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Here's why... I've been having trouble with a so-called stressless recliner. Apparently spending $2k will get you soft pine and low density foam that doesn't last the 2 years, let alone the worthless 10 year warranty. To help my poor suffering legs and back, and so I don't have to binge watch Netflix while standing, I decided to try a few zero gravity chairs at Relax the Back. We went in on a Saturday afternoon and was helped by Nancy. She was awesome and patient and let me try out a variety of chairs, from Human Touch, Positive Posture, and Andrew LeBlanc. I liked the $4k Andrew LeBlanc best but the $3k Positive Posture seemed like the better deal. Not wanting to make another mistake, I decided to "sleep on it", which is code these days for doing further research on the internet. Nancy gave me her business card and told me to come back in a few days, when everything would be 15% off. :) After a lot of research, phone calls, and e-mails, it was obvious that the Andrew LeBlanc was the the way to go. The Positive Posture was an import using marginally acceptable material whereas the Andrew LeBlanc used higher quality material while managing to be built here in the USA (actually about 40 minutes away in Georgetown, MA). I drove back to the store to try the LeBlanc one more time and put an order in. For whatever reason, the store's a/c was off. Not a big deal unless it's 91 degrees outside and the front of the store is nothing but south/southwest facing windows without shades. The place was an oven. I sat in the LeBlanc chair with the intention of trying it out again, to make sure I was making the right decision. But it was just too hot. The sole employee in the store obviously didn't have a problem with the heat. Nor did he have a problem completely ignoring me. In fact, the chair got jammed and wouldn't come back down. I ended up figuring out how to crawl out, no help from him. He only came over to put the chair back into position and still ignored me. So I left. There was no way I was paying this guy $4k for a chair. The manager has contacted me to apologize and make things right, but I've already purchased elsewhere. I will be going back the next time I'm in the market for a chair or recliner. read more

After back surgery, I purchased a Zero Gravity power recliner and it saved my life. I lived in that chair for 3 months. I could not sit anywhere else. I could not move around for most of that time. But the chair afforded me a comfortable recovery period. It was worth every penny. If you have a back injury, spend the extra money on the power option. The ease of use is fantastic. The quality of construction by Andrew LeBlanc Company in Georgetown, MA is beyond belief. After 3 years of everyday, and I mean EVERYDAY use, the chair looks and works like new. I have had the need for a minor service matter. When I called Andrew LeBlanc, Andrew took my call and personally coordinated the prompt resolution of my minor problem. You just don't see this kind of customer service anywhere these days. I could not be happier with the quality of the chair and service from both Relax the Back and Andrew LeBlanc. read more

My son was in terrible back pain and medicine was not helping. I did some research online and found information about infrared heating pads being very helpful for back pain. With this covid pandemic delaying all deliveries, I needed a place I could go pick up same day. Nancy at Relax The Back in Burlington answered my chat questions and offered to meet me at her store to pick up a heating pad that same day. She was there at the agreed time even though she had to drive quite a ways. The pad was a miracle and my son's back improved within a couple of days. I've been in here twice, and both times roundly ignored by the staff. Not sure what it was -- the fact that I wasn't in my 50s, male, or in a suit? The second time, I took my husband along; we were both ignored. We waited until the store completely emptied of people, still had to flag down the man working there to get some help, and as soon as someone else entered, he walked off to help them while I was in the middle of asking a question, without a single word, and didn't come back to us after he was done answering that patron's question. Have shopped at this store Relax The Back twice in the past two months. Have isssues with my legs and back and a therapist recommended this store to me. On my first visit bought a seat for car and a back wedge......both of which I love. After 30days could have returned both items for cash or replacements if I was not satisfied providing items were in good condition. Today I purchased a self inflatable back wedge for travel. Also, purchased another seat cushion, a pillow which is resistant to mites and cool, and a foot stool that rocks to be used while sitting. Aside from the excellent quality of the items sold here am very satisfied with the excellent service. Brian is very knowledgeable and professional.
