They have called me within the 48 hour period to tell me things like my new insurance isn't actually covered, only accepted...but then tell me that I now owe them $75 because I can't afford to risk a full appointment without my insurance covering it. These types of scenarios happen a lot with them, almost like they purposely want me to pay a late fee. And to make it worse, when I do get frustrated or even if I just ask questions, they get rude and angry with me. The dentist and hygienist informed me that I had early stages perioral gum disease (with a few sites being 4mm which is how they stage gum disease). They also told me they would not do a standard cleaning that day and I would have to come back for a deep cleaning... which would cost $450. I was skeptical and asked many questions, they stated it would be insurance fraud if they charged my insurance for a standard cleaning and later needed a deep cleaning. Well I called my insurance and that's not how it works! I got a second opinion and was informed that all my gums were less than 2 mm and not near stages of perioral gum disease. OG dental also tried to have me do a sleep study (more money) and recommended 4 fillings. Needless to say, I was recommended an up charge for almost everything, that was deemed not necessary but a second dentist (and cheaper to get fillings done too!) That was a long review but I was very frustrated with my care here and would not recommend to anyone. Only positive was a cute front office set up.

All of the necessary safety precautions were followed: Spaced out appointments so really no contact with anyone but the staff. I had to fill out a COVID survey before even going into the building. They took my temperature and made sure I wasn't feeling ill as soon as I got into the office. Everyone was wearing masks/face shields, gloves and protective gear over their scrubs. Was getting the filling fun? NO. Does my mouth feel better? Yes. Was it safe? Absolutely. Do not be afraid to visit the dentist over COVID, at least not with Pearl Dentistry.
