This place was the best dentist I've been too in my 35 years of getting my teeth cleaned. I broke my front tooth off when I was 10. I had a bond on that tooth for most of my life until yesterday it broke off. This office staff was beyond amazing, kind and welcoming. Something you don't get from going to any type of doctor office. Boy, did I get fooled by these Yelp reviews about this practice. The practice was turned over to Dr. Hochberg recently and the majority of these reviews aren't about him and his practice. Yelp shouldn't allow this as is basically fraud so don't be fooled by 4 1/2 the stars. Now on to my experience... I was looking for a new dentist and after scanning the Yelp reviews, I went to the practice for a cleaning and Dr. Hochberg suggested I have 2 crowns replaced. You have to trust that crown replacements are necessary and that they just aren't an easy money maker for the practice. So I decided to have just one crown replaced to see how it was going to go with this dentist. It did not go well. I have had over a dozen crowns either placed or replaced by about 4 different dentists over the years. Usually the tooth is prepped, a temporary crown is placed and I return in a week or so to have the permanent crown glued into place. Usually there is a small amount of adjustment that needs to be made but it typically only takes a few minutes. This practice has an "onsite lab" which initially sounds like a good thing as the entire process can be completed in one appointment. It isn't good. So my crown is removed without taking an impression and a scanner is used to map where the replacement tooth will go. This was done and it was off to the lab as I sat in the chair. About 40 minutes into my wait and an hour and a half into my visit, I was informed that the scan or the crown machine malfunctioned and they would have to start again. So I wait another 40 minutes or so and the dentist and assistant returned with my crown. What followed was over an hour of grinding on the crown to get it to fit properly. I've found that these younger doctors are so immersed in their tech and expensive machines that their chairside manner suffers. That is certainly the case here. I was in the chair for about 3 hours during this visit. At times the doctor and assistant were hovering about a foot above my face griping about their personal lives as I stared at them. I felt like a lab animal. After all this time, I was finally able to leave the office with no apology from the doctor about the ridiculous amount of time this basic procedure took since he just bolted from the room when he was done. Epilog: Once I got home, I began to notice that the crown would catch on the corresponding lower tooth. This required that I return to the office about a week later so the assistant could do more grinding for about another half hour. She sheepishly apologized for all the hassle but the Doctor was nowhere to be found. Obviously I will be going elsewhere for my dental care after this 1-star encounter. What a disaster. read more

While my office visit was good for my tooth cleaning back in January, I asked for a price estimate and none was provided before my visit. I was charged the full amount which was around $500, and I waited for the insurance refund. I called them to find out that they hadn't heard anything from my insurance. On my end there was an issue with my insurance (I get insurance through my university and it had recently changed, so I renewed this information). My credit card was cancelled due to identity theft, so I need the payment returned on that new card or a check. I reached out after continued requests from them to book more appointments about the refund and they told me the refund was in (this was May). It is now the end of June and I have tried to get the check mailed to me twice. On the first call I asked if a check could be mailed to me, and I was told I need to speak to the office manager. I forgot to call back because of things in my personal life and there was never any follow up. I texted them middle of May (people answer these texts it is not automated) and asked for the check to be mailed to me again. No response. I called back later to ask again and was told I could pick up the check the next time the office manager was in. I showed up when he was supposed to be there (30 minutes away from me so an hour of my time wasted). The office manager that needs to sign the check seems to never be around and supposedly no doctor was available to sign off on it either. I needed this money for another procedure unrelated to my teeth and didn't have it in time. I am getting calls and texts for me to get other procedures there with the dentist but not getting my money back. I was told the check would be mailed, so I called to check in and see if it was mailed yesterday and somehow the office is not open during operating hours and I had to leave a message. It's starting to feel like my money is being held and I am considering calling my insurance and getting them to assist. This is ridiculous, after the first phone call a month ago this check should have been mailed to me. I don't understand why my refund check from insurance was sent to the office to begin with, since I paid in full at time of service. I do not recommend going to this office if you have Anthem insurance, and you better hope you don't have to cancel your credit card. read more

My sister did a lot of research to find a good dentist and she found the best of the best!! I have been in 4 times the last 2 months and they have been so incredibly helpful and kind. They are reasonably priced as well and always put your comfort and care before anything! I am so happy I have found a permanent dentist I can go to. Everyone there is so friendly but I must point out the receptionist Lynn (forgive my spelling). She has gone above and beyond in helping me, and was so calming when I came in with unimaginable pain, she is adorable and sweet so going to the dentist isn't something I dread anymore!! 10 out of 5 stars! I chipped my front tooth and was searching for a new dentist. It had been quite awhile since my last dental visit and was very nervous to begin the process. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found Dr. Gambee and his staff. What a relief! After addressing my chipped tooth "emergency," Dr. Gambee explained a proposed treatment plan to gain my dental health back. Luz, dental assistant, is an EDDA (advanced training) and is amazing. She put me at ease and really cared about my comfort. Her passion for her job is very evident and, as a result, you feel well taken care of 100% of the time. I saw Michele, dental hygenist, for my root planing and scaling (deep cleaning). This involved numbing my whole mouth and was made very tolerable by Michele's ability to understand my apprehension. She was incredible! She took the time to explain what I needed to do to maintain and improve my gum health. If you have been neglecting your dental health and are intimidated and nervous about getting dental work done, this is the office to visit. I can't say enough great things about this practice. I've had basic dental work to some more complex things and I've left feeling great every time. To be honest, I initially found this office by reviews on the former dentist who retired. I was literally in the middle of their transition. So, when I came in back in 2020, I thought I was seeing the other dentist, not having a clue he was turning over the practice to Dr. Gambee. However, Dr. Gambee did a great job and it was just a routine appt in order to see about replacing a crown. In my search for a new dentist, I was desperate for someone who better understood those who don't like drills and who could possibly do more for me than just the numbing. I had some previous bad experiences and it was getting harder & harder for me to go to the dentist. Needless to say, Dr. Gambee wanted to follow in line with the previous dentist and be understanding and he offered to order a prescription for just one 'magic pill.' I say, magic because seriously...it made all the difference in the world! I sat through all the horrible drilling to replace an old crown and it was not even bad! How can I have had dental work for over 45 years and have NEVER been offered this?! Sure, I needed a driver and sure I slept for a few hours afterword, but I will never be so stressed and miserable again! Fast forward to 2021 and I've had to have some work done again. I took the magic pill and got through it like a champ. It's truly a life saver for me. Plus, his staff is on the same page as he is. They are kind and compassionate. The office isn't open too often, but they will work hard to get you in especially when you're really having an issue. I am beyond happy to have found Dr. Gambee and his team! Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before you commit to spending money here. After consulting with another dentist, I found out that Lowry Advanced Dentistry subjected both my wife and I to unnecessary 4-hour deep cleaning sessions to the tune of nearly $1200 each, which was even more painful given we don't have dental coverage. Come to find out, it's generally not standard practice to do such an invasive cleaning all at once, or even at all for patients who don't have advanced periodontal disease (neither of us do). Moreover, I had TMJ symptoms for nearly three weeks after this marathon procedure, and my wife was ill for 2 to 3 days after hers (probable bacterial infection), which was only cleared up after taking antibiotics. On top of it all, Lowry charges substantially more for their procedures than some other perfectly competent dental practices (for crowns, 50% more). We will certainly never use them again, and you should most definitely shop around before having them do any dental work for you. Be warned. read more

I just had a ultrasonic gum cleaning done this week at this location. I was treated well by the entire staff. The Receptionist Leslee took care of all my insurance needs and told me what was covered and what was not. Amy did my initial exam and brought in Dr.Bonbright to check everything out. Morgan the Dental Hygienist was awesome with the shots and the cleaning. This office also deals with sleep apnea which I have issues with and was able to send me home with a device to monitor my sleep. My experience here was great and the prices fair. I was treated for my issues and not over charged or sold anything I didn't need. read more

I highly suggest avoiding this office completely! This dental office is unethical and unprofessional. The insurance/billing coordinator (Leslie) dresses like she is going to a night club, and acts about as clueless as a drunk girl at a night club. I have had multiple problems with billing, included being personally billed for a tax/insurance deduction that their office participates in- in order to accept certain types of insurance. I have had to call multiple times to have an "itemized" bill sent, because otherwise they just send you a bill with your amount due and zero other information or detail. Which I would assume, is how they mange to scam their patients into paying portions of the bill that the patient is not actually responsible for. Additionally, when I had a second opinion I was told that I did not have any of the three cavities that were originally diagnosed and I did not need the invasive deep cleaning procedure that would have taken three separate appointments. Thankfully I did not have any work done (outside of Xrays, which they wouldn't release to my new DDS) at Lowry Advanced Dentistry. And I hope you don't either! Dr. Tom is wonderful. I had extremely painful mouth canker sore to the point I could not concentrate, work or sleep. I consulted 3 dentist for help 2 of which told me there is nothing I can do. Dr. Tom not only had an instant cure for me but he met me there on a Saturday before my trip to Africa to help me out.
