I let an old injury go for years (for several reasons), so Metro really had their work cut out with me. They didn't take advantage of me, but got my care plan and the work itself done in two visits. In fact, they did more work than a previous dental clinic had estimated would be the price of fewer teeth fixed. I don't usually think about 'value' with dentists, but the cost difference was noticeable and in my favor. No pain, either. I wish there were more than 5 stars available to rate them. read more

This dental office made we feel so safe and welcome. I have always had a really hard time going to any doctor; I often get overwhelmed and start shaking/crying (it's really embarrassing). NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS DENTAL OFFICE. They are scammers, will align with you on one price, verify it, process payment, then demand more money months later and harass you for years about it. I was strongarmed into an elective treatment many years ago by these fraudsters. I was concerned about price so I asked them to verify the total with my insurance before committing to treatment. The billing department called my insurance company, got a written verification of the price, I agreed, paid and had the treatment. Then, months later they began calling, texting and emailing me demanding hundreds more dollars claiming the insurance refused to pay. After several more discussions their billing department agreed that this was THEIR issue, and the balance was supposedly removed. Then a year later the calls, texts and emails began again. This has continued for almost 5 years. Every time i get ahold of them they said "we are sorry, we will remove the balance" after several calls. Then a few months later they start harassing me again. She makes it a point to remember various conversations and "happenings" with her patients, so the continuity of care flows on a dental level and a personal level. You can't help but feel welcome here, and it's obvious you're in great hands. Every staff member I've met and worked with has been great. Dr. Roach has worked with me for semi-annually cleanings, but she has also worked with me on my Invisalign care. I went to this establishment many, many years ago and never went back because they lectured me, everyone was uppity, and they quoted me over $10,000.00 to get items done that THEY thought needed to be done. I was experiencing pain in my jaw recently so I used their on-line appointment service as an existing patient since they have my records, and I have yet to hear back from them. It appears that they either don't monitor their appointment system or I'm just not important enough for their taste. Needless to say, I found a new dentist. Dentist's chairs have made me tense up in panic for as long as I can remember. A few years ago, I took a co-worker's suggestion and switched to Metropolitan. Nobody else will ever touch my teeth again. The staff -- from the front-of-office to the chair -- are unfailingly gracious and skilled. Under their care, I went from a guy who would try to tear the armrests off at the merest poke to a guy who can laugh and joke through a cleaning. My most recent visit -- 6.25.08 -- was the highlight of my day, due in no small part to my hygienist, Kara, who is exceedingly gentle and has a wry sense of humor to boot. If you're a wuss about dentistry, this is your place of refuge. Everywhere else I've ever been is a butcher shop by comparison. read more

I needed a new dentist as I didn't feel like driving to Littleton and I am not that attached to my dentist is Littleton. I found Metropolitan Dental Care on yelp and in 5280 magazine so I made an appointment. There are a things I love about MDC: 1) They picked up the tab on my street parking and even went outside to refill the meter during my appointment, 2) they have DazBog coffee in the lobby / foyer which is odd for a dentist but I love coffee so I was pretty stoked to see not just coffee but coffee, 3) they have some great x-ray technology, 4) you can bring your own music, DVD'S, CD's, etc. to listen to or watch during your appointment (yes even for a cleaning), and 5) Michelle, the lady that cleaned my teeth, had a great chair side manner. Sadly there are a few things I didn't love about MDC: 1) The odd consultation / sales pitch at the first appointment, and 2) some of their newer technologies are not covered under my insurance (sadly). read more

This place is reliable. Amazing service/hospitality! The receptionist, hygienist, & dentist were organized, attentive, and made me feel right at home. I hadn't been to a dentist in 5 years and the hygienist helped ease my nerves and assured me everything was "no big deal" and "nothing to worry about." Most places hearing that I hadn't been so a dentist in over 5 years would have tried anything in the book for over sell/ up charge, but at this office I felt I was only given exactly as I was needed and received the attention I deserved. My disappointment in sketchy communication by Metropolitan a.k.a Metro Dental in Denver is only exceeded by their dismissal to acknowledge their role to ameliorate a cost burden to me as a patient known to them since 1996. A co-pay estimate was given for a deep cleaning they insisted I needed to the point they would not schedule a regular cleaning. After confirming an estimate of $160 I scheduled an appointment because of statements made to me about the dire condition of my gums to 'save my teeth.' They said I needed a minimum of two appointments for cleanings in four quadrants of my mouth and to prepare for two hours for each appointment. Each conversation I had about possibilities of exceeding the estimate was greatly downplayed. My first appointment lasted an hour with about 45 minutes of actual work done on one side of my mouth, and the next appointment a week later about the same time duration (waiting in the reception area and unforeseen distractions that the hygienist had to contend with tapped into the time). I paid $90 as a copay for that appointment and $85 at the next appointment, already exceeding the $160 they estimated would come out of my pocket. I then am billed a $115 more with an explanation that Delta insurance would not cover what they estimated and they said the plan I switched to after my retirement did not cover as much as the one I moved over to, DISPITE the updated information on my newer Delta Dental coverage I provided to Metropolitan Dental way in advance while sharing my heightened anxiety about preventing overruns in the estimate. I contacted Delta only to learn that any estimate would be honored if the codes the office gives them are provided in writing since the dental office knows what they are going to do. Delta suggested that any estimates should be requested in writing, something Metropolitan Dental failed to inform me of prior to the appointments, and then Metropolitan Dental snidely said afterwards that was a responsibility I owned. I have never had to do that for prior appointments/treatments and I feel is a responsibility of the office since I made it clear I wanted to know likely charges. It does not seem right that have to pay an additional third of what I had budgeted....something is wrong for consumers with this business model. After the first treatment the dentist reviewed the hygienist work and said my teeth were "awesome" and seemed confused after I said only half of my mouth was completed. This indicated to me my dental work was not as dire as they first lead me to believe. After the second and final treatment the hygienist pushed for me to schedule three month cleanings which by that time I began to question. She initially stated I had moderate periodontal disease and then later in the conversation, after I said I would only consider 6 month or annual cleanings, changed her statement to an admission that I actually had early on-set periodontal disease-(supposedly?!). Metropolitan Dental has violated my trust I feel in an effort to overstate a gum problem for money. I expect accurate information and professional courtesy on estimates. Metropolitan Dental could have provided the insurer in writing the codes that would have obligated Delta Dental to a more exact coverage to make known to me, and allowed me to make a more informed decision that likely would have led to a second opinion if I did not have the trust I started with and is now torpedoed. Couldn't get in to see him so he dropped some antibiotics at my work. Had to stop coming for a few years because of health & went to a Dentest on Groupon. It was horrible! Couldn't wait to be able to come back & I'm SO HAPPY! He will set a plan on what should be done first especially if you have old metal fillings. He is the most gentle Dentest you will ever meet. I'm taking the time to write this review because this is the most incredible and efficient medical office I have ever been to. I was blown away. They have multiple people making contact with you throughout your visit and each one knows your personal information. Facts like, I'm new in town, my dad is a dentist, etc. The cleaning by Willie was by far the best I have ever received. He explained everything as he did it and highlighted some of the things my previous care had excluded. I had parked on the street and someone offered to put money in my meter to make sure I wasn't going to be ticketed (which they will regularly do). They must treat their employees really well because literally every person I've encountered here - dentists, hygienists (Ive had Willie the past few times and he's awesome!!!), receptionists - is always in a good mood and super nice. I liked this place a LOT. I have been to several dentists in Boulder and Denver since moving here (See my review of ATA Dental--not a fan) and am not one of those people with severe anxiety around cleanings, but after my prior experience I was fearing the ice-pick like torture device that ATA had attacked me with. The people here were nice, the hygienists sweet and kind and gentle, and good magazines were in the waiting area (this was key). They do have a quick consultation with you beforehand which I can only gather is to uncover any issues you have that you'd like corrected that will result in extra income for them, but are not pushy and will discuss your insurance and how it covers anything far in advance. I had a tooth filled here about a year ago. The filling failed twice - the second time a week ago and I just got a bill for $250.00 for the 15 minutes' worth of work it took to fix it. As a whole the office has a good group of staff and hygienist. Where the down fall occurred was the miscommunication that if they got into the tooth and it needed a root canal I would need to go elsewhere. It was all discussed prior to COVID and not re-discussed after. I am at fault just as much as they are for not discussing what was needed and what could happen. If I would have recalled or known that they do not do root canals I would not have had them start. I would have gone directly to an endodontist to do the work due to knowing my teeth and always having to get more done than normal. I was in a dental chair, numb with an exposed tooth when I was told I needed a root canal and here are the options. I chose a dentist (not one they referred me to due to the distance from my home- I live northwest Denver and their referrals are south and DTC) to do the root canal and crown with plans on going back to Metro to continue cleaning and the other dental work I needed. In the process of insurance claims and billing along with credits somehow Metro decided that I shouldn't continue to be a patient there. I received a letter in the mail stating that due to choosing another dentist to finish the work (mind you Metro could not do the root canal) it would be best if I continued going to the other dentist. My time is valuable just like most people. I thought going to Metro seeing that it is close to my office would save me time. It would have been around 6-7 hours of driving all over town and sitting in dental chairs to get one root canal with a crown done. That's not convenient for most busy working people. What I learned through all of this is that one doesn't need a dentist with a fancy office with real estate in downtown where 3 people work on one tooth to get the job done. The small dentist office in ones own neighborhood with a smaller staff is just as good and not as expensive. read more

Exceptional. I am no stranger to the dentist, and they are usually awful, over priced, and painful. My experience here was everything but. Dr. Mike did a phenomenal job, he made me feel very comfortable and taken care of. I had a very large cavity that required either a pulling of the tooth or a root canal. Dr. Mike convinced me to save the tooth and is actually working with me to make it happen. I am beyond grateful for the staff here. I don't think I'll be visiting another dentist in the Denver area ever. read more

I have been going to MDC and I've seen Dr Mike for over 15 years. I hate going to the dentist but he helps me with my fear! I have went to both locations, I used to drive all the way downtown just to see him. Now I am happy to say there is one in Lone Tree that is minutes from my home. They are not on our insurance but their prices are very competitive. Once I had a really bad tooth infection and he opened up the office just to see me who can say that! I see Cara and Dr. Dawn every 4 months for a cleaning and a check-up. These ladies are incredible. Quick yet efficient, fun and smart and sweet and a joy to be around. They completely changed my opinion of the dentist. Prior to joining Metro Dental, I was terrified of the dentist. I am a "perio case" with some gum recession, and my old dentist was always telling me I needed gum grafting and surgeries and that I was doing a terrible job of taking care of my teeth, etc etc. So I stopped going to the dentist for a couple years because I was scared and it always hurt and I always left feeling terrible about myself. But then on a whim (and knowing that I REALLY needed to get back to a regular routine) I made an appointment at Metro Dental and I've never looked back. Cara has been my hygienist since day one and I honestly look forward to seeing her each time. Today, Dr. Steve Law filled in some chips that I've had in my front teeth for many years. I was skeptical that anyone could get the filing to match my actual teeth color, but when he was done and I looked in the mirror, I was shocked. I couldn't tell where my teeth started and the filling began. He was quick and informative and did such a wonderful job. I am so happy with ALL the care I've received at this office. After reading the great reviews on here, I decided to call them to set up an appointment. I just moved to Denver for a new job so I need to find a dentist. I also have a hearing disability so I have to use relay services to make phone calls. Well, when I called, they rudely answered and then hung up on me before I could get a single word across! I ended up calling them back and they hung up on me three times in a row before I finally got ahold of someone, who claimed that they "lost the call" and that "no one hung up on you". Metropolitan Dental Care has been my dentist for 26 years. In that time, they've cared for me, my 3 children, my husband, my sisters, brothers-in-law and several other family members and friends. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Dr. Steve and Jeannette have done so many crowns on my poor mouth. He is gentle, caring and an outstanding dentist. Jeannette is an artist when it comes to getting that perfect fit. Dr. Roach has removed wisdom teeth and performed extensive restorative work on my children and she is a fine dentist. Finally, Vicki at the front office is wonderful. This office has been a staying force for half my life and I will never switch.
