I have had a subepithelial tissue graft to my left lower jaw in January and another one to my right lower jaw in May. Dr. Gurinsky explained the procedure well. More importantly, he was very meticulous in making sure the local anesthesia was injected properly and effectively; both procedures were quite painless. My two post op visits confirmed an excellent result. Tammy, his office secretary, is extremely helpful and accommodating in terms of scheduling. Strike 1, Went in for a consultation and while waiting in a chair for the doctor I overheard him speak about another patient in a manner in which shouldn't be repeated here, totally unprofessional. Dr. Gurinsky, DDS did an excellent job with my gum graft. The area that was previously SO sensitive is now covered by a beautiful gum line. No more discomfort with hot, cold, or crunchy foods. In addition, I was impressed by the surgery itself because it did not hurt! Not even the Novocain injection. Somehow Dr. Gurinsky knows how to place the needle in a way that you can't really feel it. I haven't been able to feel my tongue or taste much since Dr. David Gurinsky took my wisdom teeth out in December 2012. There is also a floating piece of 'something' that they left during surgery on my left side (which, when I went to address the issue, they failed to recognize that anything was there.) Stacy, (lady at the front desk) was extremely rude once they found out the results of my surgery. She was asking me questions like I hadn't done any research (they apparently hadn't done any research even though they know I was coming in with the diagnosed 'tingling tongue syndrome' which I looked up myself.) She has been snotty with me ever since. Dr. Gurinsky gave me a few laser treatments on my tongue, which have done absolutely nothing. After a few months went by and a few laser treatments later, he finally admitted "the feeling and taste in you're tongue may never come back..." I told him that the first time I went back after surgery! Do some research, it was you're mistake! Growing up my mother wrote 3 cookbooks, food and my taste has been a big part of my life, the surgery made me loose a majority of my taste, to me, it is a lost limb. I wouldn't recommend this man to anyone. read more

I did not have a good experience with my dental surgery. The communication about the procedure and the healing process was poor. I have had numerous dental surgeries and this was the worst in many ways; communication and the roughness of the procedure, left being spoken to in an unkind manner and bruises on my arms. read more

Hot and Cold in this office. One appointment they all appear to be nice and friendly and genuinely caring. Next visit its so cold that I never want to go back. Bedside manner is so important in a competitive business and Brian and his staff really need to work on it. It did appear that the initial visits were where everyone was the nicest but then once the thousands of dollars are paid the atmosphere changed to one where they wanted to move on the to the next person. We all know that appointments are lined up back to back but when you are finished with a very painful procedure you do not want to be shoved out the door with a piece of paper as care instructions.... I would never recommend Dr. Gurinsky to anyone. I had the worst experience of my life getting an implant from him - it was painful, he could never get me numb; and I was bawling by the time it was done because it hurt so bad, but he said he couldn't stop because he was almost finished. Then, he ended up cracking the tooth adjacent to the implant, and either didn't know or confess to what he'd done. I went through a year of dealing with that problem - I started having horrible infections in my mouth and sinuses immediately after the implant, and horrible teeth and ear pain that was only resolved by taking antibiotics. When I called him he basically had no ideas for what could be wrong or how to treat it. I had to go to multiple other doctors / dentists to receive any help for my problem, and spent over 8 months constantly on antibiotics while other doctors tried to figure out what the heck he had done to me. I've since had the implant removed (so spent all that money for nothing), along with the adjacent cracked tooth, which finally fixed the problem. To top it all off, when they extracted the back tooth he had cracked, I contracted trigeminal neuralgia - and they don't call that the suicide disease for no reason - I was in agony from the nerve pain from that. Thankfully, that finally healed after about 6 months, and now I am okay again. Please avoid this man if you have any care for yourself, though. I would never go to him or recommend him in any way. read more

I don't recommend due to his irresponsibility and the childish manner in which he responds to making good his mistakes. I had to seek a second opinion from an oral surgeon who confirmed the pain I'm experiencing is due to a poorly located implant that Gurinsky performed. When I approached him about it, he did not respond kindly or care to take care of the problem or even follow up. It is obvious he thinks I will just go away. He is sadly mistaken. I think Dr. Gurinsky did an amazing job with all the implants. He did a lot of work on me spread over various appointments. It is never fun to have to do oral surgery, but his competency and friendly staff make this as good an experience as it's going to get. I am a pretty demanding individual, so trust me, this says a lot. If you're a drama queen - and a lot of patients are - probably nobody will make you happy. Stacy at the front desk was fabulous in helping me with my insurance and making sure I knew the costs up front. Dr. Gurinsky is truly a perfectionist with his work and my implant and gum removal went perfectly and had no pain during and very minor pain following the surgery. Dr. Gurinsky performed a frenectomy on my son. He did a great job on the frenectomy. The procedure was quick and the doctor is very personable. My only problem with the whole experience is that the amount they said I would need to pay was off by almost $200. Also, they didn't bill me the extra $200 they wanted until almost six months later. read more

Last December I came in to discuss a surgical procedure that my dentist recommended. I met with Dr. Gurinsky briefly and agreed to schedule the surgery the following week. The receptionist charged $100 deposit on my credit card and said that if I needed to cancel after end of the day on Tuesday, I'd be charged this amount. The more I read about the surgery online, the more uncomfortable I became. I called in for reassurance and more info, but ultimately I felt that I needed more time to think about it. I canceled within the time frame given by the receptionist. At this point, I had every intention of rescheduling, but not at that very moment. That's when things turned sour. The receptionist tried to claim that I didn't cancel within the given time frame (never mind that she explicitly told me the deadline). She tried to pressure me into rescheduling the procedure within the next 30 days, and when I refused, she refused to refund the money. Even though my initial impression of Dr. gurunsky was positive, I began to have an icky feeling about the place. I followed up again about the refund, and the receptionist, in an unmatched rudeness, said that a refund will be forthcoming, but that my business is no longer welcome and that I should look elsewhere for my periodontal needs. I thought that this level of nastiness was unnecessary, but at least I felt grateful that my initial gut feeling was right about my hesitation to go through with this procedure. After I received a refund, I started receiving a bill for $80. Apparenly, it was for the "consultation." I was never told about this during my initial appointment and there was never a mention of this for months leading up to the refund. I thought it must've been a mistake, but really, it's punishment for issuing the refund. The level of pettiness here is truly unbelievable. They've even tried to collect money from my insurance company for services not performed. Now, this $80 nonsense charge is in collections. Such despicable and gross behavior. Dr. Gurusky's staff is classless, tactless, and rude. I'm looking into legal options to end this shameless extortionist behavior. read more

I would be very wary of Dr. Gurinsky. I went to his office for a "free" consultation. After the consultation had been performed, I was told by Dr Gurinsky that the needed procedures could be done immediately but I would have to settle the entire bill before leaving. I waited in the dental chair for 45 minutes while they spoke with MetLife regarding charges. I was then given a net cost of $250 which I paid. A month later I received a bill from his office for an additional $243. I called them thinking there had been an error but was told that there must have been some other charges that had not cleared on my insurance that affected the net cost for the procedures. I checked with MetLife and they confirmed with me that nothing with my insurance had affected the charges. MetLife suggested that Dr. Gurinsky must have sent in a larger claim than what was described to them originally. I tried resolving the issue but Dr. Gurinsky stopped replying to my emails and simply sent the matter to a collection agency. To make matters worse, I have a bump on the roof of my mouth as a result of his work. Since it has been over 6 months since the procedure I doubt it will ever go away. read more

Prior to my first appointment, I was a little worried that Dr. Gurinsky might be a big, scary doctor who was going to cut my gums. As is sometimes the case, I was wrong!!! Dr. Gurinsky completed my gum graft very quickly, and it healed perfectly. I'd heard this procedure may be painful, however I only took pain pills during the day of the procedure, and then switched to Advil. Dr. Gurinsky and his staff are extremely professional, and the follow-up care was excellent. Stacy did a great job in working with my insurance company to minimize my out-of-pocket cost. I've already recommended Dr. Gurinsky to several friends. The downtown Denver office is very clean and comfortable. Thank you for the excellent care! read more

I chose Dr. Gurinsky because he was recommended by my dentist and was only a block away from my office downtown. All initial appointments went fine, and I never waited more than a couple of minutes to see him (come to think of it, I never saw another patient in there). But the procedure itself was a nightmarish experience!! It was on a Friday afternoon, so he probably just wanted to go home. But you know how you first get that little Q-tip with topical anesthetic before the shot? That little Q-tip was only put on one place, but I got about 6 shots all over that part of my jaw, and I felt every one of those suckers, full force. THEN, because he was in a hurry, he waited about 60 seconds, picked up a scalpel, and sliced into my gum before I was numb! If you've never felt THAT, well, you haven't lived! I gasped involuntarily, and my body reacted by starting to tremble uncontrollably. It was embarrassing, and I had no control over it, it was like a fight or flight thing from the pain. Anyway, he proceeded to rush his way through the rest of it, and he was abrupt and rude to his assistant. He kept roughly moving her hands to where he wanted them, and at one point, he got angry and reached over and snatched something out of her hand so he could do it himself. I numbed up quickly and didn't feel anything after that first cut, but when I got to my car about 30 minutes later, I looked in the mirror and was horrified to see blood spatters all over my face. Also, the tissue grafts didn't "take". Both of them failed or sloughed off at some point, so it's like I never had it done. To top that all off, I left my job 6 months later and then got a bill from my former insurance company for the full amount of the procedure, almost $3,000. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Gurinsky to anyone! read more
