They charged me over 500 dollars to get a mouth guard (since I grind at night which is true) that I lost shortly after getting it and tried to get them to make me a replacement immediately after I lost it at a work trip and they said it wouldn't fit and that I would need a whole new set of imprints which is incorrect. I would be skeptical of some of their recommendations. I also had a crown and it did fit correctly and they tried to fit it again and I continued to have pain with my jaw and overall the dentist didn't even come look at personally she just sent me to a specialist and said I "might" need a root canal. Now I might have a unique situation but it doesn't appear that way and this appears to be standard practice so I'll be finding a new dentist. The staff is generally friendly and the office is up to code but, at this point I don't think the dentist has done a competent job and I would not recommend them to any friends or family. Nor do they really seem like they care about the pain my teeth and jaw have been.

My face was swollen, I was in a great deal of pain, and I knew I was in for an unpleasant conversation regarding the type of service I was going to need. After a few x-rays, the dentist told me I was going to need a root canal. Fine. No big deal, I guess. He then left the room and came back ten minutes later to inform me that I was going to need an extraction. The tooth, you see, was cracked. Had to be pulled, nothing to be done. I was skeptical, freaked out, and in A LOT of pain but I acquiesced. The procedure was scheduled the day after the next when the surgeon would be in. Well, I couldn't wait that long. I was back the next morning, more swollen and in more pain. The dentist on staff, Noah Donaldson, made the decision that I should have the extraction then and there. I should have said, "no." I should have waited for the surgeon the next day. Pain won, though, so I underwent the surgery with Dr. Donaldson. Bad idea. He and his assistant spent hours sticking various needles into my gums and the roof of my mouth trying to numb me. When I say "hours," I mean HOURS. He and the assistant performed the extraction...mostly. Because the assistant was unable to find the correct tools (after multiple attempts searching for the tools), he sent me off with a portion of the tooth and the root still in my mouth to be removed by the surgeon the next day. Clown Show. And, of course, I had to pay full price for it. The next day, I am informed by the surgeon that, for an additional cost, I could have nitrous or choose to be knocked out. Neither of these options were provided to me the day prior when I was literally weeping due to the pain. I chose the nitrous because, well, it was just a small portion of the tooth and how bad could that hurt, right? Well, the mask and the tank malfunctioned several times during the procedure. Tubes popped out of the mask, the lever on the tank was stuck on oxygen. The mask gapped at the sides of my face. I was conscious, aware, and terrified for the entire procedure. And, of course, I had to pay full price for it. I have insurance that covered some of both procedures but now, two months and a ton of PTSD later, Highlands Dentists is coming after me for more money. After reading the rest of the reviews, I'm doubting I needed this tooth pulled in the first place. I'm going to need a bridge installed and you better believe I will not be returning to Highlands Dentists for the service. I truly feel that they took advantage of my situation leaving me emotionally and physically damaged. I caution everyone against this place.

I returned for an adjustment on one side 3 weeks ago, but the experience only made things worse. Not only did the pain get worse after the adjustment, but my pain was completely dismissed and minimized, and the appointment felt extremely rushed. After "adjusting" I was told that the pain was normal and that "you have plenty of teeth left to chew with," even though I was clearly explaining that both sides were hurting and that chewing had become very difficult on both sides. The pain only worsened from there. I spent nearly $1,000 on these fillings, only to lose trust in this office and have to seek care from a different dentist for further adjustment. After adjustment, I am still in pain, and now it appears that one or more fillings may need to be completely redone, which increases the risk of needing more serious treatment like a root canal. Another major issue was that my chart/profile contained incorrect information. When I confronted the office about it, I was told their AI had supposedly "misheard" me. That is not possible, because we never even discussed that information out loud. Being given that kind of excuse instead of a direct acknowledgment and correction was so off-putting. If they cannot keep basic patient information accurate, it raises serious questions about their professionalism and attention to detail. This has been a mortifying experience and a huge waste of money, time, and mental energy. It is incredibly upsetting to pay this much for treatment that caused ongoing pain, then have my concerns brushed off instead of properly addressed. I deeply regret going here and wish I could get a refund. I now understand why this office has so many negative reviews about botched fillings and concerns being dismissed. Based on my experience, those reviews were absolutely accurate. UPDATE- I DO have to get at least one filling completely redone and it's going to cost me 320$ because I do not have any more insurance money left. Mind you, I've already spent another 300 at this new dentist for examining and X-rays.
