Roaming the boardwalk in Philipsburg Sint Maarten, it was nice to run into a familiar site. The Peruvian flag. Being quite the fans of Peruvian cuisine we chose to stop here for dinner. We arrived about 4:30pm. Chose a table outside next to the boardwalk because the dining room wasn't wheelchair accessible but that's ok. The views from the boardwalk are marvelous and they have sand under your feet so you feel like you're right on the beach. The waitress came running over from her beach volleyball game. (The island is pretty laid back that way) and let us know that the kitchen closed at 4pm but would reopen at 5:30. She invited us to stay and have drinks while we waited. It was happy hour so we decided to stay and wait. We ordered the typical Peruvian dishes. Lomo saltado (sauteed beef strips with tomatoes onions & fries served over rice) tallarín saltado (same as above except with spaghetti noodles instead of fries and rice) pescado sudado (fish stew) and pollo a la brasa (marinated rotisserie chicken) Everything was good and had authentic Peruvian flavors. I would say I have had better pollo a la brasa elsewhere. I found it a bit too dry here but other than that very good. Service was good, music playlist was excellent, ambiance was good if you don't mind dogs contantly barking but they had 3 dogs there. 2 locked up on the 2nd floor who were constantly barking and 3rd well behaved dog roaming around downstairs photobombing our pictures lol (Dog did not bother us or beg for food. Did not even touch a fry that was accidentally dropped while they cleared the table) The prices were a little steep, except for the chicken. The chicken was $25 for a whole chicken that could feed a family of 4 easily. Pics of menu posted too. read more
