    Conch fritters

There's only two restaurants on the beach. This is a chill spot with decent food to meet your needs. It's a bit more low key than the other beach restaurant. The fried snapper was fine but not as seasoned as expected. The conch fritters are decent but dont expect any chunks of conch at all. They did come with garlic bread and a little salad, which is appreciated. It took about 40 minutes to get our food and there were only about 4-5 people there when we ordered. Maybe we were there too early (noon) for the kitchen to be prepared with fresh options. Nobody told us why there was a delay until we inquired, proactive communication makes a difference. The drinks were fine but I was given the incorrect order. I didn't appreciate that the waiter didn't own up to the mistake and tried to convince me that I had a mango colada even though it was white and no flavor. I saw 100 of them during my time on the beach which were vibrantly colored for mango. I did notice the fish sandwich was a popular selection as we were leaving. It was more affordable and looked like it had a nice crispy batter on it. If I went, it would be for a quick eat sandwich meal and maybe rum punch.

Get the Pinal colada and smoothies w/rum here! The drinks were delicious and not overly sweet - though they weren't as boozy. The service at the bar was fast and friendly. We also go the panko-crusted mahi strip, it was interesting. The beach itself was packed on the day we were there as there was a med school party. There were chairs/umbrellas, but too crowded for my liking. Beautiful sunset view here - and you get to watch pelicans diving into the water!

Excellent fresh coconut anything. Coconut shrimp was amazing. So were the fresh piña, coladas and painkillers. Painkillers are on the rocks. But fresh and just the right blend of rum. Ask for Maya. Great server, one woman with great positivity!

Spanish hogfish? - Several with mostly clear bodies and purple markings - we swam with a sea turtle!!! - A solo squid - enjoyed snorkeling in a light rain - - - Snorkeling - - - We enjoyed a lunch of coladas and shrimp kabobs with rice & beans... very good! (Visited 2/3/2020) Day 3,922 of our 10-day cruise on the Norwegian Jade and we were able to visit St. Kitts. After a busy day of exploring the island and doing some snorkeling it was time to relax on the beach! Here's how hanging at Reggae Beach went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set completely outside under a giant wooden hut is this very cool, very tropical gem. With the weather always in the high 70s or low 80s, there's literally no need to be inside at all. Lol. The music was nice, the area was spacious and it fit right in with the surroundings. Service: Service was as expected. An older gentleman took care of us, but they were certainly on "island time" if you know what that means. Lol. We weren't in a rush at all, so everything was all good. We enjoyed the sound of the sooth waves washing ashore while sipping our wine so we actually lost track of time. Food: As soon as I spotted the conch fritters on the menu I knew I had to had them. I've heard about these legendary delights through music, TV shows and the like so I had to indulge! Out came 4 lightly colored fritters with crispy edges and a small rameken of their "creamy cocktail sauce" that looked more like an avocado ranch, but indeed... it was what they said it was. It meshed very well with the soft, flaky fritters. They were delicious, not fishy, savory and absolutely worth getting again. Value: $11.00 for my order and totally worth it. Most of the menu was reasonably priced, but we didn't want to get too full before getting back to the ship for dinner! In conclusion, this was a nice lil' place to stop by and take a breather. It's set right on the beach so it's an absolutely perfect place to chill all day and run the bar tab up! Lol. Check this place out when you can.

Reggae Reach is the place to be on St. Kitts on a Friday night. Everyone raves about their Friday night buffet. I was happy to say it lived up to the hype. The food was the best I had on the island since I arrived. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very filling. Although the drive is long about 20 mins from downtown Basseterre it is scenic during the day. At night, the drive through the mountains is close to the shore and is lit up by the lights along the roadway. For $36 you get a choice of 2 or 3 meats and unlimited sides which includes: salad, rice and beans, sweet plaintains, hush puppies( at least that is what I think they were) and, two varieties of steamed veggies. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance to ensure a space. The location is prime and the night lights create a great ambiance. It's an open style bar with extensive amount of seating on the beach. We were seated near the Rush Slowly shop and took a look in but didnt get anything. When they started the bon fire, folks gathered around to feel the heat as a nice balance to the cool breeze that flowed through the air. Reggae Beach was a hit but the DJ could do a better job of keeping the tunes rolling. - This is a minor critique as my family and I truly enjoyed ourselves.

Their wifi didn't connect and the bathroom was across the way, outside of the building. I placed my food order but my drink order wasn't taken. I asked the chef owner for water and he said the server would get it, which was his wife but they were both too busy sitting at other people's table and chatting it up while I'm over her parched for water for 15 minutes! WTF! I can't even get some water in this hot muggy crappy place? I ordered a pie because I was starving bc I guess this Italian place doesn't give bread. I had to get up and order it and my water with the other chef that was standing around bc no one was helping me get anything. Ordered the most horrendous clam pasta I have ever had with extra bitter and old arugula on top. Nothing about this place was palatable. The service sucked. Didn't realize this clam pasta was not coming with linguine but instead penne with some thick tasteless cheese sauce. This was definitely easily that worst restaurant I've eaten on the island. I should have left as soon as I knew I wasn't going to get water right away

Visited 6th and 9th August 2024…read more My companion and I decided to visit Darkwood Beach for a beach day. It's convenient since Darkwood Beach Bar & Restaurant serves food and drinks, which means we did not have to worry about packing lunch. The only problem is that it's a bit spendy $$$, so be mindful of that. As soon as we arrived, we ordered our meals. I ordered the Darkwood classic burger, which was topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, plantains, and pickles.. I asked them to hold the pickles on mine. All burgers are served with a side of fries. I wanted to substitute regular fries for sweet potato fries, but they were out of sweet potato fries. My companion had the local lobster entrée, which came with two sides. He chose sautéed potatoes and plantains. Both meals were delicious. The burger was massive - I resorted to eating the meat only and left the bun because it was so much food. It was well seasoned and reminded me of a smash burger the way it fell apart with every bite. The lobster was done in buttery garlic sauce, and it was perfect. Eating it was like an orgasm in your mouth. Yummy! The potatoes were amazing too, and the plantains were fried golden brown. For drinks, we just opted for local passion fruit, which were $ 5 USD / $13EC each. My friend joined us later, and she had the local lobster as well as wings. The wings were well fried and tasted delicious, too. If you want to use the umbrellas ($10USD/$26EC each) and beach chairs ($5USD/$13EC each), you also pay at the bar. And there is a 10% service charge added to your total bill. Once we finished ordering our food, they informed us that it would be about 20 minutes to prepare. We swam until then. When the food was ready, the servers brought it out to our chairs, where we were located. The day was beautiful, except for a few scattered showers, but the beach pristine with white sands and turquoise waters. I would highly recommend Darkwood Beach even if you do not eat/drink at Darkwood Beach Bar & Restaurant. As previously stated, the beach is pristine, and the water is not too deep, so it is ideal for small children or novice swimmers.
