Chicken strips and handcut fries. Homemade ranch and honey mustard. Excellent, play it safe choice.

Played it safe with chicken and hand cut fries. Jamaican pork sandwich and chicken were recommended. The fish was not recommended. They rum punch was amazing, and strong, and reasonably priced.

The view is amazing. One of the best beaches I have ever visited and would 1000% go back. The drinks were inexpensive and pretty good. I think there was plenty of seating on the beach too. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but the staff seemed alright. Just a little inexperienced but still kind. Overall, I think the beach makes up for all of it.

Great snorkeling, black and tan sand, friendly restaurant staff with good drinks and food - - - - - - - - July, 2023 Visit Great snorkeling & relaxing, staff, drinks & food - - - - - - - - Longer Review We visited St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) for the first time in 2023, and had a great time. We snorkeled multiple times at three locations, thanks to Lynn's Taxi for driving us! Shipwreck beach is on the narrow strip of land between the big part of St. Kitts and the smaller southern tip of the island. The beach is not very deep... just a few footsteps from the stairs to the water... stairs from the restaurant down to the sand. The beach is quite pretty... it's a mixture of black and tan sand... the water moves the sand and changes the look of the beach with each wave... nice! There are apparently quite a few monkeys on St. Kitts, possibly more than people - unsure if that's a local exaggeration or reality. When we pulled up, we saw two monkeys at the base of a tree right next to the parking lot; give them space and they will give you space. Shipwreck Beach has chairs and umbrellas (natural, made of wood, with palm fronts for the roof!). Shipwreck Beach also has a floating platform... you can swim or walk out to it; it still has the "new lumber smell" to it... and it offers a great view of the beach and surrounding hills.

This is our absolute favorite bar on St. Kitts. Nestled in a beautiful cove with a quiet beach (including chairs) and a platform you can swim out to, and not to mention beautiful views, Shipwreck is a hidden gem. The staff here is always super friendly and prices are actually very reasonable. The food is good and I always recommend the fish sandwich, which goes great with an ice cold Carib. There is a colony of monkeys that lives here and sometimes comes to visit early in the morning or in the evenings. Unfortunately they did not come when we were there because someone apparently stole one of the baby monkeys (who would do such a thing???). Regardless, we had an amazing time and love coming here. If you are visiting St. Kitts make sure you plan a stop here for an afternoon!

Great views & low key ambiance. Authentic local charm Food and drinks were great & the service was quick and easy. The kids loved feeding the local monkeys too Bring a towel if you want to enjoy the beach afterwards!

I learned about Shipwreck Bar & Grill from a TikTok video. The restaurant came highly recommended by Yelp and Google reviews, so we dined here on our first night in St. Kitts. This place definitely lived up to the hype. The views are beautiful. The food was so tasty. The drinks were very strong. All of the menu prices were extremely reasonable. They left something to be desired, though. They were not rude, but kind of dry. The questions we had about the menu were barely answered by our waitress and she really couldn't provide any suggestions on the best dishes they served. It also took her some time to come to our table for our order. I ordered the fish of the day, which was Wahoo...AMAZING. My husband had the Jerk Ribs also, AMAZING! The portions were huge and the prices were extremely reasonable. We left full and tipsy, the perfect vacation combo! An added bonus....there were monkeys everywhere! They didn't bother us, they were just hanging around....literally! LOL!

Great atmosphere, right on the beach! The food is local Caribbean flare. The service is fast and polite.

This is the place to come!! After a couple days of overpriced and less than good service in restaurants in the area, we discovered Shipwreck Bar + Grill. This is a super casual, divey place down a rough road, but right on the water. The staff there is so very welcoming and friendly. They have a number of dangerous specialty cocktails as well as beer. The food is fairly basic but with a number of good options. We stopped in for lunch one day and had to come back for a sunset dinner. It's a lively place at sunset with a fun crowd and live music. Pricing is about a third of what you'd pay at other places. Definitely stop here!!

Such a fun place to get a drink or a bite only a couple feet from the water! The drinks are delicious and super well priced and the food hits the spot! You can sit on the beach and even see some local wildlife!

Wonderful scenery and very friendly staff! Food and drink were scrumptious for a reasonable price. Would definitely go back again.

Great atmosphere and great drinks. Went on a Sunday for the live music. Will definitely be back!

The locals and tourists seem to flock to this bar and grill. Its prime location near the water is beautiful and scenic. There is a natural uninhabited feeling that is very charming. As the soundtrack plays a combo of Soca, Reggae, and American pop music you are drawn into the whistling sounds of the shore near by. Whether you decide to dine at the bar or at one of the tables, you'll feel the vibes. Patrons should bring their swimsuits if they want to go for a swim while at Shipwreck. There is ample seating both on the beach and around the grounds. However, the highlight of this destination are the Monkeys that come down to pay the patrons a visit. Legend has it that back in the day, Monkeys came down so often to sneak a sip of alchohol from patron's that they made a drink called the "Drunken monkey." We enjoyed the Mahi Mahi platter made fresh and the Vegetarian platter. The plaintains were nice and sweet, the veggies were fresh, and the Mahi Mahi was even better when we put the local hot sauce on for extra flavor.

Colleagues brought us here while on a trip to St. Kitts and we loved it! This is an authentic beach bar which is right on the water and serves up local cuisine. The drinks were good as well. The service was great and didn't take long at all. While we drank and waited for our food, we got to look out over the Caribbean Sea. You really can't beat these views. We loved our experience at Shipwreck.

Visited 6th and 9th August 2024…read more My companion and I decided to visit Darkwood Beach for a beach day. It's convenient since Darkwood Beach Bar & Restaurant serves food and drinks, which means we did not have to worry about packing lunch. The only problem is that it's a bit spendy $$$, so be mindful of that. As soon as we arrived, we ordered our meals. I ordered the Darkwood classic burger, which was topped with bacon, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, plantains, and pickles.. I asked them to hold the pickles on mine. All burgers are served with a side of fries. I wanted to substitute regular fries for sweet potato fries, but they were out of sweet potato fries. My companion had the local lobster entrée, which came with two sides. He chose sautéed potatoes and plantains. Both meals were delicious. The burger was massive - I resorted to eating the meat only and left the bun because it was so much food. It was well seasoned and reminded me of a smash burger the way it fell apart with every bite. The lobster was done in buttery garlic sauce, and it was perfect. Eating it was like an orgasm in your mouth. Yummy! The potatoes were amazing too, and the plantains were fried golden brown. For drinks, we just opted for local passion fruit, which were $ 5 USD / $13EC each. My friend joined us later, and she had the local lobster as well as wings. The wings were well fried and tasted delicious, too. If you want to use the umbrellas ($10USD/$26EC each) and beach chairs ($5USD/$13EC each), you also pay at the bar. And there is a 10% service charge added to your total bill. Once we finished ordering our food, they informed us that it would be about 20 minutes to prepare. We swam until then. When the food was ready, the servers brought it out to our chairs, where we were located. The day was beautiful, except for a few scattered showers, but the beach pristine with white sands and turquoise waters. I would highly recommend Darkwood Beach even if you do not eat/drink at Darkwood Beach Bar & Restaurant. As previously stated, the beach is pristine, and the water is not too deep, so it is ideal for small children or novice swimmers.

One person in the party forgot their phone. She went back and was treated so rudely. The person rolled her eyes and was very very reluctant to give back her phone. The unpleasant experience of this at a fine dining establishment between meal, dessert and treatment upon returning- really really disappointed!!!!!
