We came in early, maybe 4:30pm, and it was quiet. This place is literally a hole in the wall,…read morebetween the street and the dock. It looks very sketchy from the street, with wildly barking dogs next door. Don't be deterred! There's a bar (of course!) and the rest of the seating is at long picnic tables; nice ones to be sure. The bartender and waiter both greeted us warmly. The beer list is extensive, and my Honey found a barrel-aged stout that was to her liking. I chose a margarita, since they're part of the Tuesday taco special. It was big, and good. After inquiry about that, however, I learned that the specials don't start until 7:00pm, so it's $8.00 on the regular menu for me. Same price for the beer, which is OK with me for a 10%ABV barrel-aged stout. We both ordered sandwiches, a pork rib for me and a Philly cheesesteak whizzy-wit style for my Honey. That's a cheesesteak with Cheez-Whiz. Both were served promptly, with great fries and burning-your-mouth hot, just the way we love 'em. The cheesesteak had hot, gooey cheese and onions, and the bib sandwich had nice slaw, real pork rib meat chunks, and chopped pickles. I expected a frozen pork patty and was pleasantly surprised. The blonde waitress chatted us up nicely, and Andy the waiter was charming, too. It was pretty clear that they might not take too much BS, but that was OK with us. We left full and satisfied!

It's a comfortable, airy, very friendly place that serves up cold beer and good food! There is…read moreusually a dog (safely secured) to greet you as you enter. The staff are quick to greet you, and offer you menus and suggestions. The portions are generous, too!

The grilled Panko crusted grouper was so good that we ordered it on two separate occasions. The veal Osso Buco was really tender and perfectly seasoned. I would have enjoyed having another time while here. The octopus appetizer was tasty. The lasagna was throughly enjoyed, enough so that we ordered it again on another night. The lobster was great. We were disappointed that Thursday was a buffet and there was no ordering off of the menu. See the pictures I posted... Brendan, thanks so much for the great service. I wish I could say the same about Curtis, the maître D/gentlemen at the front encounter immediately upon entrance. On two different occasions, we asked if there were any dinner specials only be told no and then see others around us eating meals that were not on the regular menu...so disappointing!!!

He was everything that a waiter should be... hospitable, nice, sincere, kind, and attentive. When we had service with Elvin nothing ever skipped a beat or was amiss. The other servers were okay but nothing out of the ordinary where we had a lasting impression. As others have mentioned, service lacked at times. The infinity has an outdoor and indoor space. The restaurant is decent. Ambiance is that of a typical beach resort. The menu is American cuisine favorites. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served the American way. No specials or specialties dishes just what you see on the menu. Let's get into it! Avocado Toast - Good! American Breakfast: Great! The potatoes varied from day to day but overall hard to mess up eggs. Calamari- Good! Red Snapper- Delicious they know how to fry a Snapper! The better half loved it! Shrimp Tacos - Delicious, simple but tasty! BLT sandwich - Perfect Overall, if you're staying in the Dawn Beach area of Sint Marteen and need a bite to eat, this is the place to come. Decent eats!

Our server was so friendly. I also got a pina colds. That was a bit too sweet but still had a nice, strong alcohol taste, which I like. There were some guys walking around with the little monkeys. They are cute but I have a fear it would bite me so no pictures with one. I enjoyed the atmosphere and everything else here. If I wasn't so full, I would have ordered some fresh fish.

We stopped to eat with maybe an hour and a quarter before the shuttle was to arrive. It was island time... the food arrived unevenly between 10-15 before the shuttle. We didn't have time to finish and had to take most of the meal to go. It was advertised as fresh mahi but either it was overcooked in a rush or wasn't fresh. But that's not to say it was bad, just average. The waitress seemed annoyed with us overall. The music was really loud, even when we were sitting behind them. And since we were visiting on a Sunday, there are no split checks. So unless you're paying cash, someone picks it up the whole bill. For what it's worth, We did like the vibe of the place. And the views were pretty terrific.

BEST BEST BEST Food on Nevis!!!…read more We tried all the top rated restaurants (7 or so) around the island but none of the others whose prices were as high as,if not more in some cases, weren't even close to the quality here. While the competitors had average, commonly prepared fare that we can get at any hotel in the states, the Gin Trap chefs somehow create masterful meals that we still crave. You can get glimpses of the geniuses doing their thing and it looks like serious business but they are having a good time .Need to get back there !! BEST BEST BEST and easy to get to location with the only breathtaking sun set view on the island looking out Northwest towards St Kitts! (No sense dining in a jungly mountaintop that feels unsafe to get to. We did and realized there was no good reason to go back to those establishments ) Good for kids - seating, lounging & ours finished all their food themselves. Good for seniors/retirees with choices on seating, lounging, steps or no steps . Oh and although the name The Gin Trap does indeed invoke their own creative gin concoctions, have no fear that they have a great wine, beer and cocktail selections for those of us that don't actually drink gin- you will not be shunned by the bartender!! Oh And they sell cool t-shirts!
