Food: extremely flavorful and delicious. The spice levels did not disappoint. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu. Cocktails: okay, would be more fun if they were more unique. Ambiance: this place was packed even when we had our reservation at 21:30. Would definitely recommend a reservation, not sure how long the wait would have been.

Dishoom pays homage to the food of Bombay, and I was thrilled that they serve such a large and extensive breakfast menu! The restaurant is huge and beautiful - with lots of art deco touches! The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The restaurant just had great vibes - even the smell of the place (incense mixing with their delicious food) was great. I had their Kejriwal (two fried eggs on chilli cheese toast - "a modern favourite of the Willingdon Club in Tardeo, reputedly named for the member who kept asking for the dish, since he was not allowed eggs at home"), which was delicious. My husband had their bacon & egg naan roll with a side of masala beans, which he loved (he's even been trying to recreate the beans at home since we got back from London). With a large menu of other options and tons of beverage options (from alcoholic brunch options to chai to iced coffee), they have everything you could want for a great breakfast. We had a great breakfast at this Kensington location of Dishoom. I'd happily return to one of their other locations and have any meal - breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

We got the Lamb Korma (lighter curry shown in photos), Chicken Tikki (amazingly tender; the pieces of chicken shown) and King Prawn Bhuna(darker curry shown). We had naan and rice. Apparently they only open at 6PM most days but they have an all day buffet on Sunday, so we were lucky to be able to sit at 5:30. I particularly liked the menu because it had descriptions of the different curries. For example, it explained what a bhuna type curry was: "This dish is cooked in a medium strength thick sauce tomatoes and mixed spices, slow cooking process develops the thick texture of the sauce." Very helpful Lily Tandoori menu! Thank you! Usually I'm just overwhelmed and pick something random. We ordered the Prawn Puree- a delicious prawn curry concoction on a fried tortilla, and the Vegetable Thali, and Prawn Bhuna. The Vegetable Thali provided a lot of different options, both spicy and mild. However, the Prawn Bhuna really blew me away. The flavours were so wonderful, with a large amount of shrimp. It was the perfect amount of spice but also a bit creamy. Incredibly delicious. Service was always very good.

Oh. My. Hands down, one of the best dinners I have ever…read morehad. Definitely get the samosas to start, their mint chutney is INCREDIBLE. The dill & pink peppercorn salmon is a must, as well as the chana masala with saffron rice. Their garlic naan is so fresh, served warm, and the raita is perfectly seasoned. They have a fantastic cocktail menu, a decent wine list, and a lovely staff. They were so kind and helpful, but also not intrusive. A perfect balance. My daughter is right down the street, I'm sure we will be frequent fliers here.

Went to this restaurant as a party of 10 for a birthday celebration, it was a Saturday night and…read morethe restaurant was at max capacity. The restaurant had kindly agreed for us to bring our own cake and helpfully provided lighting of the candles when it was time to do so. We had arranged to have a tasting menu at £48pp in advance of arrival. At first I thought this was quite pricey. Once seated we were asked if we could have some pictures taken of us for their Instagram page, which we were happy to oblige. The staff were highly attentive during our sitting and were quick to accommodate our (frequent) drink requests and needs. The sitting ended up being over the 3hr mark for 8 courses. This was certainly one of the lengthier tasting menus I've experienced and whilst the food service was slow, it can be forgiven upon learning that we were the first large party to have had it and that it was a very busy Saturday evening. A slight disappointment to the evening was the Venison steak, which we had to send back due to it being, well, cold. The waiter apologised for this and removed it from the final cheque without being asked to do so. Shilpa, the chef who had prepared all of our food made an appearance to check in on the menu which was a lovely touch to end a great evening. Upon leaving the restaurant I think the tasting menu price is adequately justified, there are no doubts to the food quality and variety on offer. I would certainly revisit this restaurant again and I will do so in the near future to try the a la carte experience.

There are so many restaurants to choose from - from hole in the walls to Michelin Starred so we decided to fall somewhere in the middle and found Thali within walking distance to our hotel. We started with poppadoms and Chutney which were delicious then had a couple of appetizers that was also lovely! We enjoyed vegetable samosas and pakoras before moving on to our mains! We tried three : Tandoori chicken for the meat eaters any my daughter and I shared the Dal and paneer makani - the paneer dish was the best I had ever had and paired perfectly with the raita and naan!! A restaurant should respect its customers, not insult them for their food choices. Telling people…read morethey "can't force their choice" is absurd--what kind of restaurant refuses to accommodate preferences? If you serve food, customers have every right to order what they want. That's how hospitality works. What's worse is their disrespectful attitude toward Indians, looking down on customers while profiting from Indian cuisine. If you don't respect the people whose culture you represent, you shouldn't be in this business. There are many better restaurants that welcome diners with respect. Avoid this place.

I ordered over the phone as I have a Chicken Pathia fetish - having to have that dish whenever I have a curry from somewhere new, and as it wasn't on the menu I couldn't order it online due to not knowing how much it would cost! The chap on the end of the phone was very pleasant, and went to ask the chef how much my curry love would cost. They have a minimum £10 order so I chose my standard plain rice and plain naan which with 2 complimentary poppadums and complimentary chutney weighed in at just over £11. Not the cheapest I've ever had (and not the most expensive either!) but this is about what I'd expect to pay for a good meal delivered. Delivery took exactly 20 minutes, though I do live remarkably close to this place it turns out. The food came with the curry in a heat-sealed package, which I like, I think it looks very neat and clean and stops the curry spilling everywhere in transit. The rest was in plastic tubs, except naan and poppadums of course, which were still intact! It was piping hot and smelt delicious with not a hint of grease or oil floating around the top. Tender and moist chicken, a good thick sauce and a good chilli kick which didn't detract from the taste made for a great Pathia, possibly one of the better ones I've tasted. It was very coriandery though, which I myself am not fond of, but that didn't put me off as the quality was good. Naan was possibly a little undercooked and so fairly rubbery and stodgy, and I've never seen sesame seeds on a plain naan before, but it was still acceptable, and the poppadums very good, though the condiments (mango chutney and an onion salad) were in plastic pots which got hot during the journey and so the mango smelt, and tasted slightly of, plastic. Rice very good, and the small portion I got was easily a 2-person portion (I must point out I did only eat half!) and so I can only imagine how big a "Large" portion would be! Good solid curry, with a few things that just let it down a tad. And I'm thankful I spotted the cardamom seed before it spotted me!
