Fellow Review Readers,
Now I don't often like to leave negative reviews however I am compelled to leave a Sour (pun definitely intended) review regarding this restaurant in particular, Lime based in Docklands.
My story is quite simple, on a quiet Thursday I felt like having a curry with a few friends bogged down by the day's workload in the office. We thought a nice curry would eradicate the noisy day that we had, Oh how wrong I was.
We arrived in the afternoon. it was quite boisterous in the restaurant, a lot of business people like myself were in there manoeuvring their way through the Menu trying to settle their rumbling bellies. - Now while they managed to attract the attention of the waiters it seemed that we weren't going to get a Menu anytime soon. Not wanting to end up reading the menu form the next table and after a frustrating 15 minutes I got up and grabbed a few menus for myself while a waiter standing next to the Menu's looked blankly back at me without even offering an Apology. -I was as bemused as you are right now reading this.
We ordered our food - Eventually, once the manager could peel himself away from what appeared to be suited up male customers. (this was a recurring theme throughout the night) The starters were bland and the main meal came a long time afterwards, Cold and yet again Bland. This was a huge disappointment for me, I have been to Lime on several occasions where the food was delicious hence my recommendation to my colleagues to spend an evening there- however the service has always been menial, but never this ridiculously bad. Their waiters are lazy and rude to the point you are questioning whether you have done something to offend them!
We left shortly after the disastrous evening, The manager took his sweet time -for the first time that evening, to come over and seemingly oblivious to our anger he proceeded to advise us that Customers are not always right and that we should exit promptly.
What got me to was that my Colleagues were of the same nationality as the managers of the restaurant and it appeared that they favoured other races and swore many times in their mother tongue which I am sure many diners would not appreciate.
Fair to say I will not be going back, perhaps I will make a trip to Memsaab instead. (just further down the road).
Kind regards,
