We enjoy coming to this Natural Grocers. Their prices are super high on some items, but if you just shop sales, it helps. I don't like that they lock their bathrooms, so you have to go find a worker to get the code. But I do like the selection of items they carry without seed oils. read more

I was very disappointed and frustrated by my visit to Natural Grocers. The store is small, cramped, and, with one exception, full of indifferent and unhelpful employees. I stopped in to see if I could find coarsely-ground cornmeal, which is all but impossible to find pretty much everywhere. Although there were many employees on the floor, most were found in pairs, each engaged in a personal gossip session with all sorts of inappropriate details being shared and discussed. Eye contact and asking for help quite literally went ignored (in case you're wondering, each was wearing a "Natural Grocers" apron, so I know for sure they were employees). I also encountered two completely blocked aisles, with the blockages being caused by employees who were actually working. In each case, employees were stocking shelves from a cart they'd placed right in the middle of the aisle thereby preventing anybody with a cart from being able to move through the aisle. Natural Grocers does have a good selection of vegan items and surprisingly low prices on them (lower than any place else I've ever checked), and the cashier was very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. These are the only reasons for one star higher than the minimum. I'm sure that Natural Grocers can do better, but I'm not sure that I'd like to return to find out if they eventually do. read more

Cashier was extremely rude. I was wearing a mask and she refused to serve me because it wasn't two layered. I put another mask I had on me over the first one, thus making it two layered. She then huffed and was extremely rude. Needless to say I left without completing my purchase and will be taking my money and business to Chuck's where you are actually treated with respect and general human kindness. I have ptsd and other medical issues which makes wearing masks extremely difficult. Medically I am excluded from wearing one, but I wear one anyways because of how awful people are. I thought this was a store that stood against any kind of discrimination. read more

I love Natural Grocers..I really do, but this one just doesn't do it for me. They've let me down too many times. Maybe I'm spoiled from going to the one in Coos bay, Oregon. That one is a huge store. Always stocked. Clean and tons of new items to check out. This Natural Grocers is small. Most of the items I love to buy are usually out of stock. Example, I'm addicted to those mini chocolate flax muffins "flax for life" that are gluten free. This location hasn't had them in stock for almost a month now. Today, there were no eggs in stock, just a big sign apologizing that they had no eggs, but they are expecting a shipment soon. I could name a bunch more items that are never in stock....but why. Just face face it...they aren't on top of things. Bummer since they are one of my favorite stores. read more

All in all I don't hate it here. I have to come here for Instacart sometimes. I am just really unimpressed. For one thing, Fred Meyer at least gives me the aisle where I can find things, they don't do that here so it takes much longer. However that's not the worst, their customer service here is trash. I'm here in the middle of the coronavirus thing, and I just saw an employee standing right next to a woman, then when I needed to ask a question she said, "you need to be six feet apart." I had a picture of what I needed, but she wouldn't come look, so I got screwed over and never did find it. It wouldn't have bothered me if she was doing that to everyone, but to be treated like I'm garbage when I can see you interacting with someone else is so annoying. read more

I really miss Sprouts. Natural Grocers was my fondest hope for something similar in my new hood, but alas, it's not what I expected. For one, it's pretty tiny. They have a fair selection of supplements, vitamins and herbs that are all oriented around the organic and eco-friendly. They actually refrigerate nuts which is novel and although what you're supposed to do is not what stores do. Cereals, beverages, toiletries, cleaners, paper products, frozen foods and deli meat items... everything is all organic, sustainable and priced accordingly. They fall short on selection because Earth friendly is what they do. Forget Kraft Foods. You won't find them anywhere on their shelves. That's actually a plus, but unfortunately, they also lack a bakery, staffed deli and ready to eat items which was something I really treasured about Sprouts. :( It's going to take some imagination to snack the way I did back in my old neighborhood. God, I may actually have to seriously cook all the time! read more

This is the worst place I've ever worked and shopped. Upper management is the source of the problem. Serious disorganization and unprofessional communication. They are heavily invested in "cancel culture." They wave a flag to virtue signal inclusion and diversity while behaving horribly towards anyone not of their own beliefs. Careful not to "misgender" 0 or you'll get a full blown tantrum on your hands. Upper management instructs its workers to refer to ALL women as "they/them", unless its a man who goes by "she/her", then it's ok. Check expiration dates because they don't. Their prices are far too high ($5 for a box of mac & cheese!), but they get you in the door with their all organic produce and supplements. This specific store is notorious for high turnover and poor morale. New hire training is little to no hands on. Lower management is overwhelmed, gossipy, and lacks organization. Many workers make the least effort possible, while others are overworked, most are disgruntled. 6 people quit in the month I worked there. Several crew outwardly express their "hatred" of customers and are rude or indifferent with no consequences. Perishable products are left on the floor for far too long. Blocking multiple isles with carts of stock is the norm at all hours. Bathrooms are rarely cleaned. Save your money and sanity, shop elsewhere. read more

What exactly is the point of this store? It's like Trader Joe's & Whole Foods had a baby but Whole Foods didn't even know she was pregnant so she forgot to take vitamins or ever see a doctor and the baby was born healthy, technically, but isn't really in as good shape as it should be considering its parents. It's a teeny tiny store, half of which is taken up by supplements and lotions (not nearly enough lotions and far too many supplements, for me). They don't have a meat counter or deli counter, though there IS meat if you look really hard, which I missed the entire first time I was there. I bought 3 zucchinis, a green pepper, a jar of red peppers, and some cheese and my total was $55 and I also had to pay for the privilege of putting it all in a bag. Skip it, go to the regular store and just switch out the stickers on the organic produce. read more

First location of Natural Grocers in Vancouver as far as I can gather let alone Washington State. Thankfully they opened up here on the West Side of town as East Side Vancouver seems to get all the new stuff first. Competitive prices against other natural food stores like New Seasons, Chucks Produce, Whole Foods, etc. They cut costs by not having labor intensive departments like a Bakery, Deli, etc. For the size of the store they have A LOT of variety and options. Has a really nice local neighborhood feel to it and the customer service was great. I'll definitely be spending more time and money here as they carry items I haven't seen in some of the other places. Go check them out! They are located where the old Hollywood Video used to be in the same shopping complex as Buffalo Wild Wings, Halmark, Pita Pit, etc. read more

My only complaint is that this store isn't bigger! The prices tend to be slightly higher on some items that you may be able to find at Chucks or Winco, but the staff here is out of this world helpful! Supplements are competitively priced, and you can confidently shop knowing that they only stock organic produce, high quality brands of supplements and dairy that is from farms that pass their strict standards for quality and animal treatment. I love being able to find raw and organic nuts and seeds that are refrigerated (keeps them fresher) as well as high quality specialty Asian ingredients that are hard to find at other stores (like Eden brand seaweeds and Mirin). Be sure to grab a copy of their Health Hotline as it is chock full of valuable information, and be sure to get on their mailing list for store promotions and sale announcements. read more

I love shopping here because they have the best selection of organic and specialty items in the area. I LOVE that they are actually enforcing a mask policy (seems to be a new thing since I didn't notice it the last couple weeks). I've seen them have to deal with some awful customers resisting the policy but I'm glad they are standing up and doing their best to keep us all healthy and safe! They seem to be out of stock of certain items when I go in, hence the loss of a star, but overall the employees have been kind, friendly and helpful. read more

so sad, cause this place could be great. there's a worldwide pandemic going on and face masks are MANDATORY by law in Washington and soooo many people are coming in Natural Grocers without them and Natural Grocers is not mandating them or even has a sign suggesting them! (unlike their competitor, New Season, who will have all my business from now on). The store packs with people, never minding any proximity and I have NEVER witnessed any carts or baskets ever being sanitized or labeled as suc So sad Natural Grocers, but you are now part of the problem :( UPDATE- 8/03/20 drove by and noticed they had a worker planted outside making sure people who came in to shop we wearing masks. and they had a sign posted saying masks are required. i also noticed more organization of clean vs dirty carts. glad they are working on making safer shopping for people. read more

Checked out natural grocers for the first time yesterday afternoon. The store atmosphere was nice and not stressful at all. For a small space they offered a great selection. The produce section looked deceivingly small but they don't put out a ton of each item out so I was pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of lots of stuff. I even found pink lemons which was exciting. The best bargain is the bulk goods they offer. Everything is pre-portioned into individual bags so no messing around with trying to scoop things out of bins. We got 6 oz of cacao nibs for $3.60 which is an incredible deal. Selection throughout the store was fantastic and I came across a lot of new items I've never seen at whole foods or new season. I didn't mind there not being a bakery or meat dept as I really don't eat either. And the prices are much lower than whole foods or Fred Meyers natural section. All in all it is a great addition to west Vancouver and I'm excited we finally have a natural foods store on this side of town. We'll definitely be making this place a routine when the farmers market closes up for the season. read more

Very disappointed with your store right now. My husband slipped on a wet floor near the entrance (which lacked a wet floor sign) and fell on his back yesterday. No one helped him or offered to file an accident report, he had to request one. When he called to talk to the manager today the manager basically said it was his fault that he fell because he did not wipe his feet on the mat and "the floor wasn't wet prior to you stepping on it." My husband has arthritis and the fall has caused a flare up in his knee. Very frustrated there is a lack of compassion for my husband and the store is blaming him. I hope you handle situations like this better in the future, and we will absolutely not be shopping here anymore. read more

Ironic...their name initially drew me in...thinking I'd love their produce. I don't. This store boasts a good selection of pre-packaged no-nitrate meats (deli-style cold cuts, pepperoni and salami), bulk (pre-packaged) spices, and frozen grass fed meats. Their staff was REALLY friendly and helpful and I'm glad that they've stopped offering grocery bags. Aside from that, though, the zero waste options at this store were severely limited. No deli or meat counter, just prepackaged meat and cheese in plastic trays and plastic wrap. Their "bulk" section was all prepackaged in plastic bags. Most everything in the body care section came in plastic bottles and tubes. Even some of the "zero waste" reusable houseware items, like their metal straws, were in plastic packaging. Honestly, Fred Meyer has more zero waste options than Natural Grocers. Kind of a bummer... I think they could do better. read more

So, let me start off by saying that I support businesses and their right to refuse services, however I believe that bad business practices should be called out. Getting that out of the way, I cannot tolerate the poor decisions made by the manager of this store. My partner went into this store wearing a compliant face mask and was told that because the mask needed to be "opaque" she was in violation of the company's policy. She tried to explain that she was in compliance with the governor's mandate to which the store manager continued to state that if she didn't like the policy, she didn't need to shop there again. She came out to our vehicle and was visibly and understandably frustrated. I then went inside to ask the manager about the store policy versus the mandate, to which I was told something similar. I was wearing a full face mask myself, so they had no room to complain about my compliance. I asked about the lack of opacity with the transparent face shields and asked if they allowed those in the store, why wouldn't a cloth face mask be just as compliant? The manager then asked that we discuss it outside to which I agreed to and was then escorted out and was told not to return. I will be contacting their corporate office, and complaining about Kait the store manager and her terrible treatment of paying customers. read more

Last chance - 1 checker, 4 people in line including two elderly - very elderly - people. I had already walked the entire store attempting to locate someone for assistance in finding an item. I went to the back to ask someone to come and assist, when two women emerged. We three walked back to the lanes together, and the one cashier had disappeared. When he emerged, one lady decided she was going to the back and the other would stay and help check us out. She acted foggy, like she'd just been woken from a nap. There is nothing in this store that can't be purchased on Amazon for a better price and easier check out. You want to keep your jobs and stay in the brick and motor industry? Step up your game! The produce isn't worth donating and the meat is highly over priced and never very appealing. I bought a handful of baking goods I can get at Freddy's, New Seasons, Safeway - anywhere else in town where I guarantee you - there will either be someone to check me out or a self service check out. read more

I really like Natural Grocer a lot for what it is. We try to eat organic, as much as possible, and this store has it. All of the vegetables are organic, and I have found the selection excellent, the prices decent, and the quality very good. Lots of variety, so pretty much any vegetable or fruit I want is here. I also try to use non-toxic and +/- organically produced soap products, and they have these brands also. Their prices are quite reasonable, generally much cheaper on canned and boxed things (tomatoes, soup, crackers etc) than Whole Foods and Chucks. read more

I guess you have to expect to pay high prices for organic food but I was a bit shocked at how high the prices were here. Over $6 for a bottle of orange juice? $10 for a small package of chicken? I was also disappointed at the quality of the produce. I paid almost $3 for a small head of cabbage and discovered later that it was old and tough. Many of the brand-name items (such as Amy's and Evolution juices) can be found at Target and other places for lower prices. The store is small, neat, clean and well organized. read more

I fricken love Natural Grocers. This entire chain of stores is absolutely fantastic! They always have the best selection of organic produce and products. The staff is uber knowledgable and friendly. Obsessed with Natural Grocers health & beauty section! An amazing and wide variety of kombucha to choose from. The staff has always been friendly and willing to help when asked. Awesome store! fantastic deals on produce (it's all organic here!) and great quality. Lots of gluten free items at great prices. And every type of vitamin or supplement you can imagine. I shop here every week and I am noticing more and more items that are less expensive here compared to other stores. They don't sell alcohol here and do not have a deli but that's ok. The staff is friendly, the store is clean and well organized and its a great place to buy healthy food at great prices. Don't forget to bring your shopping bags! read more

Pretty good prices on most things, but the new manager.... I could do without. He isn't very nice, doesn't know the return policy or took it upon himself to change it, and honestly drove not only me and my family, but also our friend away from doing business there. I will say they have good free samples sometimes, and some cool events where different vendors setup and give you free food which is awesome. The employees are pretty helpful, some of the time. Whole foods has many more choices and MUCH friendlier managers and employees although somewhat more expensive on many items. I suppose you get the service you pay for. read more
