It is profoundly disappointing to see such a prime location squandered by a staff that treats a…read moreretail floor like a Police Interrogation Room. Customers seeking peace and a respectful, private experience are instead met with invasive, boundary-crossing questions. When I explicitly refused to disclose my personal plans to an associate ringing me up, they used my shutdown of "no plans" as an invitation to press harder--behavior directly enabled by a manager who dismissed my concerns via email as nothing more than the staff's "many communication styles." It is insulting to be told by this store's manager that I should have to police their employees' behavior by announcing when I am "not in the mood for conversation" just to be left alone. When I pushed back on this toxic excuse, management simply ghosted me, proving they have no interest in professional standards. I am not here to train your staff on basic social decency, nor should any customer have to sacrifice their dignity just to make a purchase. I will be happily driving an extra five minutes to a store with class that respects its patrons; if you value your peace, dignity and privacy, I suggest you do the same. (BTW, The store at this address is called Local Roots when currently searching "cannabis" on Google locally, with signage on the building that reflects it's the current name)

I went in hoping to find something high-quality, and when I asked for advice, the budtender insisted on a strain that turned out to be awful. It had terrible effects, didn't taste good, and gave me a headache almost immediately. I trusted the recommendation, and now I regret it. Since I can't return the product. They do not know service dog law and treated two veterans disrespectfully…read more I request that all veterans (and those with service dogs) avoid this business until they change their policy and procedure regarding service animals. I will cease pursuing legal action the moment I receive a written apology, and assurance that their policies are in line with the law. They will not allow a service dog in without a leash, and did not follow proper service dog procedure. I was not ever asked if Ozzy was a service dog, let alone what services he provided. I was only told that "it was store rules" that Ozzy had to be on a leash. I tried to explain that isn't mandated because Ozzy is a bona fide service animal, but I was met with deaf ears and a snarky attitude combined with a subtle blend of power tripping and asked to leave. Thank you for your service? Not even a letter from my lawyer could sway them from avoiding this issue in heading to civil court. As I am not interested in making any personal profit from this, I will turn any award over the Parkland Animal Hospital. I take this action for my veteran family and all those whose lives are made livable by their service dogs. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This is our favorite cannabis store. We're in here all the time and have come to love this business and the people who work there. We've been to all of the local stores in Mason and there's some good ones out there. But the Root Cellar is consistently the best, with the best service and the best prices. The main thing I love about Roots is their online order system which is fabulous. Being able to browse through their menu, order online and be in and out in seconds is amazing. I love that their menu is always changing. They always have their staples at different price points but there's always new stuff to try which I love. Their menu is really excellently curated and probably the best we've seen in Mason. Several different high quality items at several different price points each category of item you could want. Roots' pricing is consistently the best out of everyone we've experienced in Mason. They consistently come in at least 10% under all of the other stores. Especially when you order online and get an automatic 10% off at the start. We don't even bother looking at other stores anymore because Roots' is consistently the best price and best experience. We really like the service and people here. The owner is a really great guy with great energy. We love all of the ladies who work here. The manager lady has a great sense of humor. The lady with glasses has great energy and spent some time educating me on new technology which I was impressed they took the time to do that. They've always a very pleasant experience. Cannot recommend the online ordering more highly.
